That sounds like the bad look. You know you have arrived at fatherhood when you turn down seeing topless women to protect your own children.
Sounds like a man law.

We're not going to start fighting the War of Southern Succession again are we?

Do it, man.

There ya' go. Everything below the Middle Peninsula...
Saved by the grace of Sweet Tea :rotfl:

Welcome Jake!

Yep… the “little ol’ line” that a couple of fairly drunk Brits drew out a long while back don’t quite cut it.
We see it more like this (give or take a few miles here and there)…

And yes… the Mountains is a separate region.
It always sees itself as such (and I was born in “the mountains so I do know of what I speak in that regard)...

You need a bit more of SE Ohio in "The Mountains" as most of them are former Kentucky residents that had enough ambition to leave NE KY to find a job.

I've been married almost 10 years. I've also forgotten what the good one is.

Married 18 and started dating SWMBO 20 years ago. What is this good look that you speak of?:confused3

...The Richmond resident objects.

Sustained.

...You know you have arrived at fatherhood when you turn down seeing topless women to protect your own children. ...

RE: The 'Look'. After 31 years of marriage i conclude if you've gotten the 'Look' it's because you've drawn attention to yourself and that is almost always a bad thing. The issue is what kind of 'Look'. Perhaps it's one of exasperation, or anger, or dismissive indifference. If you're looking for starry eyed adoration, set the way back machine for high school. If you want undisguised lust, use the remote and switch to Cinemax.

:lmao:

That map makes it look like we are not part of the South. Nobody in Richmond would want to be considered northern. We were the capital of the confederacy, for cryin' out loud. Around here, they still refer to the civil war as "The Great Disturbance". And the main road through town is Monument Avenue. Every couple blocks has a different statue honoring figures from the civil war.

That's just not true. Northern Virginia is a two-hour drive from here. Do you drive up this way much? The yankees who drive through VA to Disney will tell you. Richmond is a long way from Northern Virginia. Many people include Fredericksburg to be a part of NOVA, but even that is a bit of a stretch. F'burg is an hour north of here so we are a minimum of an hour away from the north. Besides, we drink sweet tea around here.

The deciding factor...sweet tea or good tea. :lmao: Actually, I lived in Knoxville and Raleigh and will drink it either way.

Start digging those trenches, boys, the lead is about to fly.

I'm conflicted. My great great grandfather and his brother fought for the Union but I find my sensibilities leaning more towards States Rights the older I get.

Yes, the mountains are a completely separate region, regardless of what state you are in. If I say the expression "blue people" related to the mountains, does that mean anything to you? ...

You mean the Blue Fugates. Just down the road a piece.

Some interesting news when I got home from work. My joint application for a patent has been approved. Funny thing is the first official contact about it wasn't from the Patent Office, it's from a company that makes the copper patent plaques. I guess that's the difference between a 'for profit' concern and a taxpayer funded organization.

Hello everyone. I'm Chip, married with 2 kids, DD (12yo) and DS (8yo), we are planning to return to Disney World in November, 15th-23rd. Been lurking around the boards for a while now, mostly reading trip reports and now found the DIS Dads.

Very cool!
I may have missed the original conversation but what did you receive a patent for?
