DIS Dads DDC XXII - End of Summer Bash

I think some of that may be tied to when you finish. When DS and I finished the EE challenge we were towards the front of the pack. We were able to ride EE 5 times in a row with essentially no line. After that the crowds seemed to come out of nowhere and the lines grew pretty rapidly. The bag check line was especially horrendous. After EE the park was crazy because parts of the park were sectioned off for the race. That plus the darkness made it really difficult to get anywhere and added to the confusion. Did the same thing happen after ToT?

A not great Disney race is still better than most any other racing experience.

We ended toward the back of the pack sense we walked most o the course and the park was packed when we got to the park. I think it would have been better before the 7000 finishers in front of me finished. But it also seemed like there were a lot of guests that bought party admission and our bus was at least half guest and half runners.


And yes Any Disney Run is better than an ordinary run. With the heat and humidity I had flash backs to Summerfest run 2011 were the course was closed early because they ran out of water before mile 5 and the elites used up all the water past that. I have to admit Disney did a great job with hydration avalible I the course even for me in the back of the pack.

Rumor has it they drained the water on the ride and refilled it with beer. The person loading the boats hands you a straw as you board.

that sounds like fun. Might be worth it to try. 2016. Definitely maybe.

It's the forth time that's the charm.


In all seriousness if you want to start slowly with Disney races EE is one of the better ones. In most of the other races the 5k isn't the main event so you don't get a real medal you get a medallion. At EE the main event is a 5k + a scavenger hunt so you don't have to train as hard.

Today we went to my sons cub scout meeting, had a special guest, Basketball legend Jack "Black Jack" Ryan, It was AMAZING all the kids had a great time, including myself can't wait to see what the upcoming meetings have in store

Evening gents. After reading all the stories of how busy you guys are I'm quietly dreading when the kids are old enough for activities. Right now its just swimming lessons but the whole world opens for them when they turn 4.

Grandma orders one every year for Xmas. Really good stuff.

I agree, EE was my first race ever and I loved it! The only thing I wasn't ready for was the heat. Did you do the rapids? That was really impressive in the dark.
