DD had a nightmare and I cannot go back to bed, been thinking about DVC lately , wanted to get some of the dads thoughts on the pros and cons, Norms given me some advice about it, still thinking about it, any thoughts and help would e great
sorry to hear about the nightmare.
my thoughts on DVC: We LOVE it! We could be happy visiting WDW every year, and in the future we might look into doing other vacations. If I had it to do over again though, I would have explored the resale market before buying direct from Disney. I also would have liked to have paid more upfront and financed less. And of course, I would have liked to have gotten more points!
Sometimes I feel left out when guys are talking about Pop or AoA, and even the moderates now. But I just stayed at BLT, and coming soon is the GF!!!! so I'm okay with that.
Morning Guys... Its Monday again. Not looking forward to this week, will be on travel again. Have to give a 1.5 hr speech to a bunch of very senior peers. Not looking forward to it at all.
Matt
just picture them naked???
So, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Academy....ok that probably wont happen, but I would like to quote Mark Twain for my 1000th post.
" I was born humble, but I've mostly grown out of it."
Happy Monday Guys!
Matt
Congrats on 1K!
Thank you for the info, what I'm trying to determine is if it's a good idea when it's pretty much just me and DD, if I meet a woman with a kid I can see it def being worth it but right now with just me and DD prob for the next few trips not so sure it's fully worth it right now
I could be wrong about the math, but I always felt with DVC that I was 'paying for moderate, but getting deluxe' in terms of accomodations. So if you're happy with the value resorts for just the two of you, then great. If you think you'd like moderates, then DVC may be for you after all.
I want to try SAB. That's the only reason I want to stay at BCV. Done all the dining options except Beaches n Cream (BCV) & Kouzzina (BWV). We are getting close to where we have tried mist every restaurant once, and are identifying our favorites.
AKV is nice. We had Kidani, Savanna View, close to the end that is closest to Jambo House.
I liked SAB. it's pretty cool. I didn't even get to try the water slide!!

I felt like I couldn't take advantage of SAB with the kids because they were so little. DD wanted no part of the water slide, and DS way too young. The pool layout makes it a bit tough to get from one section to another without walking out of your way. I got reprimanded by a lifeguard for wading through some water with my refillable mugs.
Definitely would do again in the future, when the kiddies are old enough to enjoy more of it.
Lots of resale contracts there right now. I've been considering adding more points for 1BR stays, but cannot afford it.
Same boat. can't afford it right now. going over our budget now and trying to plug the leaks. If I can make a dent in my credit card debt over the next 6 months, perhaps I can start saving a bit for a new contract purchase.
I think we're going to be okay with points through 2015 if our current vacation plans fall into place. By 2016 I would like to have added a little something more.
Morning Gents!
Going to be a busy week here for me, meetings all week, soccer tryouts and basketball skills camp for DS, soccer games for me and a board meeting on Saturday. Going to be fun.
sounds like a busy week! enjoy it!
All I could help but notice was the fact that the Colts "revamped offensive line" isn't even as good as the old one.
I guess I could say the same for the QB too...
Peyton looked like Peyton last night. I'm happy for him. Go Broncos!
I was happy to see Peyton have a good game. Some of his throws seemed like they took FOREVER to get out there, but no picks.
Wow. I managed to get 3 games correct in the DIS Dads pick-em league. I'm letting my kids pick for the rest of the year.
I was thinking of doing eeny-meeny-miney-mo.
