Morning guys.

In 24 hours I'll be in WDW. Just a tad excited. :thumbsup2

How long till you leave for Disney? That's an even smaller number. Have an awesome trip.

We've got 2 and a half weeks till we leave for our family re-union. We're struggling though cause my sisters families don't really want to go to the parks while they are there.

There's obviously something wrong with them. :rotfl2:

good morning!:thumbsup2

Welcome back to your first full post Disney work week.

WHAT???!?! :crazy2:

There's obviously something wrong with them. :rotfl2:

I'm really at a loss. I know they are really responsible with their finances, but even though they have money and they are really concerned with paying for more than a single day of park tickets. An uncle is renting several 3 bedroom villas for us at SSR so they don't have to worry about room cost. We'll probably do BBQ's and stuff at the resort in the afternoon so they're main costs will be park tickets, transportation and dinner in the parks.

How would guys try and convince them to spend the extra $600 or so to go from 1 day to 4 day tickets for their family? I've tried talking to them about the things in Epcot, AK and MK that I think their kids would really enjoy, but they are still really struggling with thinking about spending $1000 on 4 days of entertainment.

We're any of you nervous about spending the money on Disney before your first trip? I think part of it is that it's more about the reunion and less about Disney. If they had been planning a Disney trip I might have been different.

I'm at a loss as how to help her. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks nemesis. 19 hours till the flight takes off...

I would try and convince your sisters using the more-days-you-pay-for-the-cheaper-per-day-it-is argument. It's a big nut to add on overall, but sometimes that helps shape it in another way... (You coulld also argue that there's not much else to do down there outside the parks ;))

Good luck.

Morning guys!

Cold this morning...jack frost almost visited last night. Thankfully the lake kept us warmer!

Hope everyone has a great week.
That reminds me. It may be time to bring in the lemon tree.

Wow. We're super tight with our money too. But I'm tight most of the year, not on vacation. I don't try to save money on vacation and if I did, it wouldn't be in Orlando. A one-day ticket is about as inefficient as you can get. Go with Paul's argument. Or you could play dirty and sell the kids on all the things there are to do in the different parks and then end with, "Oh, nevermind. You're just going to one park." Or send them the vacation planning dvd. Disney is not about saving money, it's about what you get for your money. Also push them towards undercover tourist. That's where I always get our tickets to save a few bucks.

Yeah I already made the cheaper per day argument. 400 is for 1 day 990 for 4 days. 4 days = much better value. They would be happy to sit in the room and play games and do puzzles for the 4 days we're there. I like that too, but Disney is not the place for that kind of vacation.

I pointed her to undercover tourist a couple days ago. I hadn't thought about the Disney DVD's I will send one to her. That's a great idea.

No, no it's not. :lmao:

I'm Back!!!:yay:

About 5 months ago I got called into a meeting to discuss my team, when I got there I had an HR rep waiting for me to tell me they were letting me go and escort me from the building. It wasn't performance related or anything, they were just reorganizing the department. Since then, they have let over 150 people go so at least I know it wasn't me. Rumor is the company is up for sale and they wanted to make it look good on paper by cutting salaries.

So anyways, I decided that until I was working I would stay off Dis and most of my other online activities until I was working again. I didn't want to be too comfortable being at home and force myself to focus on looking for work.

I started my new position this week! I'll be managing a team who does IT support for Gulfstream Aerospace.:worship::surfweb:

Congratulations on the new position! With all of the unemplyment issues in the news, it's good to see the other side. Good luck.:thumbsup2

Well, the run of soccer wins came to an end. We lost 4-0, but I had sick kids and 1 who ran a 3K before the game. We won't see that team again unless we make the tournament.

Bummer! Good luck the rest of the way. We had a tough game this weekend and didn't play well, but still managed a 4-1 victory and are now 3-0. It's gettign to that time where illness starts going around.

Wow. There are plenty of places to go and relax for several days, but it seems to defeat the point of being at Disney. :confused3

DW Just got a New Phone...

She got the Samsung Galaxy S III

Seems like a pretty cool phone.

Screen is a bit bigger than the iPhone

I am not super familiar with the Android OS, but it's very similar to the iOS

We have 3 years to form an opinion... :rotfl2:

We have iphones here. The wife decided to upgrade to ios6 and crashed her phone. We tried to fix at home with no success. Apple said we needed to restore the settings and that made it worse. I guess it's the Genius Bar for her this morning. :lmao::lmao:

Good luck with the phone.

Hope you have a blast, if I remember right you are doing the ToT 10 miler, let us know how that is, I hope they start doing it every year, a friend is willing to run it with me when the Harry potter expansion is done, and of course new fantasyland

Afternoon gents.

Had a good weekend. Gophers, Vikings and , Manchester United with big wins. I also went to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival this weekend. Had a blast. If Zilch the Tory Steller is at a Renaissance fair around you I suggest you go. They guy by himself is worth the price of admission.

Hi guys. Been a busy day, the girls have AHG and when we get back I need to post my new trip report (have to add pics). Tomorrow I go to a photography class so hope fully I get everything done tonight :thumbsup2

Prayers for everyone who needs them!

Will we be there the same time? We return home October 12.

I like the idea about getting them the DVD. My first trip, I had no idea how big Disney was, and only having 1 day of park tickets wouldn't have been enough.

Bummer! Good luck the rest of the way. We had a tough game this weekend and didn't play well, but still managed a 4-1 victory and are now 3-0. It's gettign to that time where illness starts going around.

Thanks. We are 5-1 on the season, and I'm happy with the team thus far. I have two really good athletes who have not played in a system before. So, while they do make plays, they leave holes as well. But, they are still doing well, and we'll get another shot at that team.

Wow. There are plenty of places to go and relax for several days, but it seems to defeat the point of being at Disney. :confused3

There are other places that Disney around there?
