My name is Ryan and I'm from Reno, NV. My wife and I had our first son in March...his name is Connor. We are taking him for his first trip next April...hopefully bringing a 1 YO to WDW is a smart idea... haha

Love the list of requirements to be a DDC member! I meet many of them - oh and I brew my own beer. Thought that was an important fact about myself.

The Pirate Princess Pirate moved into the dorm this morning... This was a well organized operation.

Glad to hear it went smoothly, this looks more organized than what my college did.

glad everything went well getting her settled in, and in case anyone's wondering I have nothing new to report just a typical day

Aer you sure that's standard, or were they all there just to "help" the new co-eds?

If it was like my school, the sports teams had no choice, the sororities were there fishing for new recruits. The fraternities were there to scope out the freshmen girls.

I worked for our schools' student activities office and was in charge of this moving in event for a couple of years. total chaos!! lol. Most of our volunteers only did it for the reasons above, or for the benefit of moving in a couple of days earlier than everyone else. Then they all went out the night before and couldn't make it to their posts the next morning.

Welcome, Ryan!! Congrats on your son!! I hope he is doing well and letting you get a little bit of sleep here and there! We took our DD at 7 months. Not as bad as I feared it might be. The Baby Care centers will be your MUST-DO!! She was mostly oblivious but did do a little playing in some of the play areas and grabbed more than a few characters' noses!

CJ, you made it sound like it was a painless move in. Not like that when we moved DD2 into the dorm at Towson. And oh yea, that picture where you said you didn't know what the Princess was doing, around here, we call that flirting.

I was going to say something like, "I'd be more concerned about what the guy is doing."

That also brought up a question, do dads still do the cleaning guns and showing gun collections to boys taking out their daughters? Had one guy scare me to death when I was 17 and always said if I had a daughter I would do the same thing , it didn't work very well just had to be sneakier

I don't have any guns. Maybe I'll invite the boyfriend along to help me finish burying the previous one.

Has anyone heard about the Judge Dredd remake called Dredd 3D? Just saw a commercial for it.

I could see Statler and Waldorf saying, "Hey Dredd, you're even worse in 3-D!"

Welcome dad. Watch out for TwinDad. Everything he says about me is untrue unless he says I'm awesome.

That just reminded me of the episode of "How I met your mother" that DW just watched. Two characters each called each other up (at different times) and disguised their voices and when the guy guessed if it was his friend on the phone, the reply was, "No, this is not ____.... but I hear that guy is awesome."

I'm glad you got the Pirate Princess successfully moved in. Brings back memories from when I did that 12 years ago.

I can't believe it has been that long.

I’ve already been declared antiquated and irrelevant (so I’m immune to the youth culture),
but I’m enjoying watching as a mix of time and your young’ens continue to beat the daylights out of your youth.

I just finished up my DD's Kindergarten orientation.

It's amazing how the elementary building that I went to as a kid, still SMELLS the same! All the memories of going to school there came rushing back!

It really is amazing to see the wide range of ages and experiences that make up this very diverse group.

And it's extremely hard to believe that I have a child old enough to be going there already. Where has the time gone?

You're only just now getting to the top of the first drop on this rollercoaster.
Now you just have to decide whether your going to grab the safety bar or throw your hands up in the air and scream like a little girl.
