Good afternoon. Spent all day today at our corporate HQ learning how to do lab tests on corn for mycotoxins. Fun stuff. :headache: Just got back to work and trying to catch up.

As for the topic of the day... I can't see separate sleeping arrangements being a good thing, but that said, we've been fighting some illness in our house, so for the past couple of weeks DW and DD have stayed downstairs and DS and I have slept upstairs. We washed and disinfected everything Sunday and returned to our normal sleeping arrangements Sunday night and I didn't sleep worth a crap. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

I can see falling asleep on the couch once in a while. I've done that staying up to watch a late football game or something in the past. I tend to agree that the regular sleeping arrangements being separate probably isn't the best.

Yuk it up wiseguys....

Lemme know how the IRS Audit works out for you next year.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Uh oh... he's taking off the belts and hittings us in the wallet! pirate:

It was all Zerf's fault :lmao::lmao:

You could be onto something there...:lmao::lmao:

Looks like it's time for me to initiate Plan B: Move to Mexico, assume a new identity, and open up a burrito shop on the beach. I always knew this day would come I guess. I'll check back in if they have decent Wifi in Mexico. :thumbsup2

All the more reason to stick to fishing fresh water...:rotfl2:

Goldfish in a bowl stay small. Bigger water, Bigger Fish. KnowwhatImean?

And the one's from the ocean are pre-seasoned. :stir:

Anyone see the new Marathon Medal yet?

It spins, with a classic picture of Mickey on one side, and a modern one on the other. Definitely a departure from the old medal.

Thoughts?:confused3

NICE! :thumbsup2 I still wouldn't run for it but it is NICE!

Need some help guys. DW dropped her smartphone in the water. It was powered off and it is sitting in rice to absorb the moisture. Any recommendations?

Sounds like a plan. Need a highly paid assistant? I'm available.

It always is.

You got that type of power? Can you get me a high paying federal job. I'd like to do tour guides at Mammoth Cave,

I am assuming that you took out the battery. Let it sit a couple of days before turning it on.

If it is fried then I hope you've got the insurance on it. Claim you lost it at a park while you were having a picnic. :rolleyes1

When is a DisDad ever unreasonable? Unless bacon theft is involved of course. A lot of this is just based on cultural norms. When I lived in The Philippines everyone slept in the same room on mats on the floor. The fact that most houses only had one or two rooms may have had something to do with it though.
.

I thought you were always unreasonable. :lmao:

Well, if DW tried to argue that DVC wasn't worthwhile, we'd end up in separate beds.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Is it that easy?

Beautiful. One year,, I would like to be able to run and earn one.

Hey Dads!!

I'mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Got back home at 5pm last night, spent a half hour at home before catching a train to go to work. I was an hour late, but I don't think anyone noticed.

I'm sure I missed a lot the past 2 weeks. Hope everyone is doing well.

I've got a TON of photos to go through, along with videos, and then I'll get the TR started.

DW and I discussed our future vacation plans while on the trip. We seem to have solidified the fall 2013 trip, just waiting on her school schedule to be released so we can see where the holidays fall. (DW does not want to take time off). AND... we've decided we want to cruise again in 2014!! That kind of works in that we would pay for the cruise out-of-pocket and bank our 2014 points into 2015 for our Disneyland/Aulani trip.

very exciting and takes the edge off of being home.

Welcome back.

After a little drama and over a week of waiting I finally have the new-to-me Cadillac registered and plates on it. Looking forward to driving it on the road daily soon. Here's my new ride:

Guess it's time to go back through 20 pages and catch up :thumbsup2

Nice car.

I've always wondered what's going on with some of these contestants...I mean, aren't they Chefs already? And they can't cook simple stuff? Heck, you'd think after all these years they'd brush up on their risotto BEFORE actually getting screamed at by Gordon...:happytv::happytv::

I think it is in the pre-interviews. Since it is reality tv, they have to pick enough contestants that would cause drama for ratings.

Morning, all!

Quick story to spark discussion. So I was vacationing last week with some of my oldest friends. Folks from college that I've literally known for 25 years and their kids (DW and I went to college together and although we had overlapping friends, never dated until years after college, she was a year ahead of me in school).

My wife spent some time talking to one of my buddies wife who confided that they haven't slept in the same bed in years. He falls asleep on the couch working and stays there all night. (Being a guy, I would have never had this detailed a discussion with the husband...) I was horrified at this and couldn't imagine not having a husband and wife sleep in the same bed, but DW thinks that this probably happens in a lot of marraiges (husband snoring, people wanting their space, etc) and does not mean that their marraige in danger.

What do you guys think? How often does this happen? And can sleeping separately be a normal and acceptable part of a good/healthy marraige?

Deep topic Chris...

Personally I can't see it.

However I know of 2 couples who are (were) happily married, and don't share a bed.

1 - they had a child with a lot of special needs, and the mother slept with the child since birth. He is now 12 years old, and still sleeps in moms bed, and dad has a separate room.

2 - DW best friends parents have always had separate bed rooms. He has recently passed away, but they lived happily for over 50 years, and never in the same room.

No insurance. But, time frame is Dec and ATT rolling out family share digital plan in a couple weeks. We'll see.

You know what's worse? Picking 10th. :headache:
!

Got me there.

I'm on my way with the shovel. Fourth grade coming up and already hearing the boyfriend word. Luckily it is friends and not my daughter. I already told her boyfriends are not allowed until she is 26. :rotfl2::thumbsup2

I heard that last year. Need to fit them for chastity belt. Do they still make those?

Ok, so we really only need to be in the same bed for 5 minutes, right? Nobody else said it. If someone snored enough, then I guess it would be ok. Different strokes for different folks.

OK, I hope everyone is doing well. Been a busy few days, nothing worth noting and ive missed several pages but yall have said no need to catch up so ill go with that, if any one asked a question to me since the 8th i missed it, sorry, but im guessing noone asked me a question or a statement lol. and Norm , I went last Jan while a friend of my ran the Disney Half and of course I didnt see it but it sounds like a blast and their Donald medal was awesome, I would also like to run one, one day. Im in day 5 of quitting smoking (part of the reason I havent been on) so hopefully one day I can, maybe this can be the start of a DisDads group marathon run one year.

Congrats on day 5. Smoking wasn't my thing, other than cigars, but I used Kodiak. DW made me quit before our wedding. I started using after we married, but quit in November 2000 for good. I gained a ton. I've enjoyed the occasional cigar over the years, but still have the cravings every now & then. Stay at it and don't eat your way to being smoke free like me.

Thank you for the encouragement, Ive been wanting to quit since my DD was born but always came up with excuses about stress and blah blah blah, I turned 31 on saturday and a week ago i got thinking ive smoked since I was 15 (quit for 7 months twice) so roughly been smoking for 15 years, besides the obvious money spent and health issues, Ive never wanted my DD to not want to hug me cuz I smell like smoke (she hasnt yet but getting close to the age where shes told me, my shirt stinks ) and I really dont like her being around me when I smoke, so it became time to throw out all the excuses and do something about it. sooooo also using WDW as motivation, I dont want to always be searching for those box sized spaces for smokers through out the parks and just enjoy my DDs first trip and my first trip in awhile, so i know I can do this. also let me know if you want to hear my "mars attacks movie/first time dipping" story haha not for the faint of heart

I used the nicotene gum. It worked for me. If they just made a weight loss gum. And, yes, I'd like to hear the story. Did it have something to do with someone drinking someone else's dip spit?

Before DW & I married and were dating, the sealed dip bottles rolled out from under the passenger seat and hit her. Nothing spilled, but she was grossed out.

its alittle grossier then that, some friends and I somehow got some kodiac wintergreen on the way to go see mars attacks, I had never dipped before, they kept telling me about the buzz i would get so i put some dip in and alittle bit i started getting a buzz, some point i swallowed alittle and started feeling sick, in the middle of the movie I got sick all over the back of a couple in front of us (they didnt notice) until the guy reached over to put his arm around the girl and the rest tells it self, they were not happy at all and I was sick for about a day
