Some time yesterday the air conditioner died. The house never really cooled overnight. Right now I have two overly warm kids in the basement who refuse to fall back asleep. :headache:

Hope you can get it fixed on the cheap!

Morning guys,

Up earlier than I wanted to be.

CJ - Just read about the Ramirez trade this morning. What's going on in Miami? Is there going to be any fan backlash with ownership selling off the team the first year in the new stadium?

They have given up. Spent a lot of taxpayer money on the stadium with the promise they will put together a competitive team. Looked like they did at the start of the season. Now they are waving the white flag.

As far as an uproar, not much yet. We are used to it. After all, they have a history of doing this. When we won our first World Series and before the celebration parade was over, they sold off the team. Same thing happened after the second World Series. I bought a 20 game package this year and have enjoyed watching the games so far. Thought things might be different but guess not.

Used to be a full season ticket owner but got tired of watching All-Star games and saying, former Marlin, former Marlin, former Marlin... I took a leap of faith that things were going to be different now so I came back to baseball. Haven't been a fan for years. Not sure if I am renewing next year or will even be a baseball fan. Sucks because I really like the game.

Sorry about the long rant but baseball fans down here are like Charlie Brown trying to kick a football.

This sounds very similar to my thoughts on the Twins. After years of seeing the emerging talent leave with little or no compensation I thought things would be different. Ownership said they needed a new stadium. Once they got the the new stadium they resigned Mauer and bumped their payroll. Then after one bad season they slash payroll and say they now can't compete because they can't get the TV deal like NY and LA. I've decided I'm done with the Twinkies until they get new ownership.

I just can't believe they're giving up so quickly. I can see moving maybe 1 or 2 guys to get some young talent, but to be giving up what they have already is ridiculous. They're only 8 games out of
a wild card spot. That's nothing at this point in the season. Just ask last years work series champs.

Morning Gents,

taking the day off to go tubing with DW and some friends. Should be a great afternoon on the river.

Well I don't think I will be doing a sling bag I already have a bag on my back. I think I will go with a lens pocket that hangs from my belt or waist band.

Goooooood Morning Dads!!!!

Morning gents!

Made it to Chicago! After a long day of lectures, I got to visit the new Children's Hospital. Sad to see my old hospital gone, but the new obe is beautiful! Had dinner with one of my oldest friends at a great place, the Purple Pig. Basically all they serve is different kinds of pork. Not to be missed! I'll post a pic on FB. Looking forward to tonight with Aaron, Brian & I think some others!

Have a great day!

My heart surgery was done at a Children's Hospital when I was 10. What do you do there at the one you worked at?

Just saw the picture, you can't go wrong with a good variety of pork.

Barry- that's cold. I was in the circus while was there, so we all know it's a clown college (yes the circus part is true)
What did you do in the circus?

See, I told you. A Badger can of Whoop a$$ just broke out.
:thumbsup2

This morning DW wanted to know what I was doing up late last night. I told her I was catching up on the boards. So then, around 11:30am or so she saw me on the computer and asked me what I was doing. I told her I was catching up on the boards. DW says, I thought you did that last night?? So I responded, "yes, but now they're all awake again!"

DW now believes this thread is the biggest "time suckage" ever created. :rotfl2:
That's not completely true. A lot of us are on here are work, so it's a productivity suckage as well. ;)

That sucks. Hopefully your basement stays cool-ish for you. We're in for a hot one today.

6 hours on the river. 3 1/2 cases of beer. Strangely, nobody had to pee.
I love tubing. :cloud9:

I was a juggler, I ate fire, I rode in the gym wheel.
Pics or it didn't happen? That was 18 years ago so I'd have to dig. But if you meet me in person, I'm always up for juggling or eating fire.

Morning guys. :surfweb:

This just in, Sean tells Paul to be less Canadian.

You're pushing it newguy.:furious: You're just lucky I already have a nemesis.

Do us all a favor and get back in the gym wheel, would ya? :rotfl:

Morning all…

Many page… much smack… little else…
and yet, I still read it and enjoyed doing so.

I must be broken.

But then again…

My all time favorite is the Spork Gun:

aeg-evk-ot-3.jpg

These guys are awesome...:lmao::lmao:

…the “Spork Gun” was particularly funny.

I just read this article and I'd like to get the dads' comments:

Disney World tells Thomas Tolbert to be less 'Santa-ish'

In the first two paragraphs I thought Disney was being rather overbearing (which they have been known to be at times), but as the story progressed, the “victim” started looking more and more like some one fishing for celebrity and adoration.

If you look like “The Big Guy”… great, but use your “gift” wisely (as in Randall’s example).

If however you’re affecting a specific look just to draw attention to yourself (and maybe gain a bit of extra privilege)… shame on you.

Last night in the hotel thankfully. Trying to keep up on the iPhone is futile. After 3 nights I've confirmed that canceling the TV a couple of years ago was a good move. The only thing that I've seen worth watching was the Weather Channel.

I’d like to tell my cable provider to take a hike, but the rest of my family wont have it.

Not fun. Hope you can get that sorted out fairly quick.

I have to agree the new hospital is phenomenal. Unfortunately we got to experience it 10 days after it opened when our youngest had an allergic reaction.

As for the Purple Pig, that place looked cool, but I don't think its kosher. :lmao:

Looking forward to dinner tonight. :thumbsup2

Are you joining us for dinner tonight? I'm not sure they have fire on the menu there, but we could ask. :lmao:

And I was just going to say I saw your name as a guest on a DisDad podcast that I'm anxious to listen too. I'll behave now, lawyer's honor. :rotfl2:
