Only 9 pages, so I read through them. You know, just in case someone made fun on Canada. They didn't, but there was some nice banter on Minnesota vs. Illinois vs. Indiana. You know what they all have in common? They all wish they were Wisconsin.

I really thought there would be a lot more pages and a lot less actual content this morning.

All I have to say about the Big 10 back and forth thing going on is that we can all agree to this. At least we're not Penn State.

What the hell has happened to the world if we cant even go to see a movie safely!!! 12 people dead at a midnight showing of Dark Night Rises in Colorado. My support to those people who have lost friends and family. Some were as young as 6. That could have been my kid. Seriously..........

Unbelievable. Something you just can't even imagine. My phone blew up this morning, and I've been fielding calls all morning.

I agree. I thought to myself what would I have done. I do and have been glued to the tv praying that things aren't as bad as the media is saying. But they are in my thoughts.

My youngest did hit 2 runners home on sacrifice and caught a fly ball as catcher to end the inning. Really proud dad. She did miss one throw home. While it was a little short and hopped, she should have knocked it down.

I'll let you all fight over it while I take my 10th of the money, buy me the condo I can afford, while depositing enough in multiple FDIC accounts to live for the rest of my life in case my mutual funds and municipal bonds don't give me the return I need.

What do I need? Enough for APs. Plan to eat TS and WDW 365 days a year. Hopefully, I'll be close enough that I won't need to drive to WDW and can just walk. Maybe a plane ticket to come back to KY once a year and the rest of the stuff we have already. my pin collection will grow quickly.

I give men and women like you a standing ovation and many prayers for what you have to endure while in the field. And it's situations like this that make me wonder what the outcome had been if more citizens had concealed weapons to defend themselves. Sounds like this guy was pretty well armed.

Such a sad situation all around, but I've got to admit I was a little disappointed that there was anything left of the suspect to arrest.

Evidently she actually looked up the definition of nemesis, and the fact that we txt message, are Facebook friends, and are planning to vacation in WDW at the same time does not fit into her definition of the word. She's asked me several times "so, are you friends with him or not?" My response is usually "Tim? I hate that guy. He's my nemesis. I should text him and find out how his kids are doing."

To be honest brother, and I'm as Second Amendment as the come, but a concealed weapon could have presented a bigger problem in an incident like this.

Number 1, the guy was wearing body armor...so it was going to take a very well placed shot, and significant situational awareness, under fire, to "stop the threat"--even for well trained guys. (OK Self, center mass didn't have any effect--where do I shoot him now? And then pulling off the shot). That's a little much to ask even of your average street officer.

Number 2, given the chaos and confusion of the scene...the arriving cops may have viewed a legally armed civilian pointing or shooting a weapon as a deadly threat...guess what happens then? More Tragedy. The cops are just as subject to the "fog of war" as it gets.

Now, that being said, if you have a concealed weapons....and have a clean shot...and can end it, then please for god's sake end it right there. JUST MAKE DARN WELL AND SURE SOMEONE KNOWS YOU'RE THE GOOD GUY.

Trust me...even guys like me have to think about this kind of stuff since I'm plainclothes Agent, and not a uniform patrol officer. In a situation like this, a uniformed patrol officer could easily mistake me for a bad guy and make my day go south very very quickly.


Of course, if multiple people had them, it could have ended real quick like. I still advocate carrying--I think everyone should....just remember the situation. This particular even was so chaotic, you don't want to be part of the problem

COMPLETELY agree. Would NOT be a good day to be mistaken as a bad guy. Then there's also the possibility of a good guy accidentally shooting a innocent bystander. So many things to consider. Even still... makes you wonder how many could have been spared if someone had the reaction like the 71 year old man in Florida.

Also Fed, thanks for your insight and experience on this topic. Although I don't carry or own any firearms, I do support those who do, albeit with proper training and education.
