Sunday night ownage.

Good luck. If you don't have AC tomorrow I have a suggestion. When you open the windows, turn a bunch of fans on and have them pull air from outside that's in a shadow. I have the fans pull air from the Northeast corner of the house to the rest of the house. It works pretty good until the air gets into the mid 80s here.

Thanks. I do have several box fans, the ones with the metal blades from my siingle days. The rain helped cool things off a bit. I might just take them to th office if it gets that bad.

Well, as I type I'm sitting down in our basement during a tornado warning. Hailing now. Praying we don't get the bad stuff.

Good luck. No hail here. Just thunder, lightning, and 10 minutes of wonderful rain.

We had one freeze up because of a dirty air filter..

Havem't turned it back on yet. Th forced air will still work if it is a coolant thing. At least that will help circulate some air.

Dinner is served!! Patting myself on the back!!

Great meal Steve.

Thanks. I've been through midwest winters though and at this stage in life will take the heat over the cold.

I'll take the cold. I can always toss on another layer of clothes, but there hits a certain point where I can't take anything else off and still wander around town. :rotfl:

Very cool view...

Hope you and Crash have a blast... and maybe even earn a new nick name while she's there.

Thanks. Nothing has organically evolved yet.

That is an amazing view. What sort of view will you have from you room??? Is it possible for a non DVC owner (we own hilton) to trade into that place??

It isn't bad. I'll post it either here or on my TR. No idea on non DVC trades. Aulani is popular right now. I book exactly at 7 months and got what I wanted.

Good Sunday morning Gents.

Checking in from the in-laws house this morning. No power at the house since the wind storms hit Friday night and with the temps around 100, we decided to take a break in to the Air Conditioned comforts for the day. I will head back home this afternoon. Hopefully, we'll get some relief from the high temps soon....

Have a self imposed news blackout while on vacation. Didn't know it was that bad out east. Stay safe and I hope power is restored.

Well, as I type I'm sitting down in our basement during a tornado warning. Hailing now. Praying we don't get the bad stuff.

Scott, hope it has passed and you guys are OK. Let us know.

With everything going on with you guys seems kind of selfish to say we are having a great time. We are but trying not to feel bad about it. Guess it is time to have a vodka and tonic.

Stay safe everyone.

You can go with Dave and I. I'm not ready to try the chef's table yet, just the regular one. And yes, I am drinking the wine but will provide complimentary transportation for you via a monorail, bus, or boat, to limited destinations.

Wow, that sounds like a great deal - free transportation! I'll do it someday - I might manage to wrangle it for a trip in 2014 - we'll have been married 15 years at that point, so maybe we can celebrate it.

Well, I surveyed the yard about and hour or so ago and just had a chair knocked over and some leaves in the backyard. Oh and our trash can was blown over...but nothing major. I'm hearing of trees down and some other damage around town, but so far no actual report of any twister. :thumb2:

My back is starting to get to me slugged over 5 tons of ice bag by bag into ice chests this weekend, I bet the guys at the gym can't say they lifted 5 tons this weekend:lmao:, Not bad for a middle aged bloke:rolleyes1, but it's only the beginning , by next Sunday I'll probably go through at least another 10 - 12 tons:scared1:probably sometime the week after a visit to the Doc will be in order:sick:

Had a nice, long weekend at my MiL's house to celebrate her 70th birthday. We left early Thursday afternoon, and I got home yesterday afternoon. DW decided to stay there for about a week or two, so I get to be a bachelor again for a little while (perhaps my last chance til the little ones arrive). Unfortunately, I don't quite have enough money to enjoy it as much as I would like.

However, as of yesterday, I've been starting to pick up some private lessons to help offset DW not working. If everything goes as planned, it should help out a bit.

As for the weather, it's been a bit warm, though not as bad as in the states, it seems. But, this nice weather isn't going to last for long. According to the 10-day forecast on weather.com, from Thursday on we are to expect scattered thunderstorms. Rainy season is about to start, and will last for the majority of July.

I'll take the cold. I can always toss on another layer of clothes, but there hits a certain point where I can't take anything else off and still wander around town. :rotfl:

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2. I usually use this reasoning with my preference to colder weather.

Just back from the Canada Day celebration. The Joel Plaskett Emergency concert was great, 90 minutes non-stop and free to boot. The fireworks, on the other hand, sucked!! I truly feel sorry for people who have never seen a good fireworks show.

Evening folks...

Long one today, busy at work, but not stupid-busy though. We got a lot of beer and coolers out and sold. After work, headed out to give a co-worker a grand farewell, then home just in time to watch the Canada Day Fireworks from the bedroom window. :thumbsup2

Well, looks like the AC stopped working. So, I turned it off I hopes that it just froze itself, but I doubt that is it. Fortunately, it looks like rain may be headed towards the area which may cool us off. Otherwise, it will be a hot one tonite. We are going to 5:30 PM mass and will be praying for the AC to start working again. Wonder how busy the HVAC people will be tomorrow?

Hope things improve soon

This is where I'm confused, Does England still have say on what goes on in Canada, All the money has the Queen on it:confused3

I believe we are still in the commonwealth, and she is the technical head of state, but we are our own country.

Morning Dads,

So this past weekend the wife told me that the air was out in her Santa Fe. Ok, its 5 yrs old, no big deal. Got some 134a and easy fix. I put the connection on the low side and it immediately spikes all the way to the right. hmmm. Ok, disconnect and try again. Same thing. OK, disconnect and make sure no dirt is in the connector. Same thing again. Well Beverly. Does anyone have any recommendations other than take it to the shop?

Woke up this morning for work, look at my watch, I should have left 5 minutes ago. Oh yes, it is Monday.

Matt

Monday morning again. 3/4" of rain yesterday. Not enough to help the soil moisture deficit, but enough to get the weeds growing again. Two days back in KY then north to fix my shed and get a crown repaired and back to KY on Friday. I think I need to learn to like life on the road.
