Since yesterday was a holiday we get today off.

Now this is how a Monday should be.

Mornin' guys and happy Monday....

Lots of trees and debris down on my drive in to work this morning.

Saw one big maple tree - probably 75 foot tall and 4 foot around - sitting right in the middle of a house and a huge branch on top of the car in the drive way.

Needless to say - that house is totaled. Thankfully, according to the news, no one was home at the time.


But, today the sun is back out and we're on our way back up into the 90's and appear to be in the 90's for the next week.

Is it fall yet??

Morning guys. The Chicago-area storms missed up last night - the in-laws live in a suburb that did not see any of the rain or winds.

Yeah, but it fely weird to have actually worked July 1st., I'll take today off at any rate.

Kinda wish I had a camera/live feed for in front of the store today, to see who comes up for liquor only to be shut down.

Aloha from Aluani. Arrived here about 11:00 and are still waiting for the room to open up. Got the computer out to pass the time.

Aluani is gorgeous. Toured the resort a bit to check the lay of the land. Had lunch at the pool bar restaurant. Crash checked out the spa and the store. Now if only the room was ready.

Monday morning again. 3/4" of rain yesterday. Not enough to help the soil moisture deficit, but enough to get the weeds growing again. Two days back in KY then north to fix my shed and get a crown repaired and back to KY on Friday. I think I need to learn to like life on the road.

It's not too bad, just time away from family stinks.

LIFE , Family , and Disdads here and on FB , I have to say it is easy for me to go on FB then here because it is in my phone , and i will say im not the smatest with technology but you gus wow how i see you guys on both just amazes me ?????

Wow, that sounds like a great deal - free transportation! I'll do it someday - I might manage to wrangle it for a trip in 2014 - we'll have been married 15 years at that point, so maybe we can celebrate it.

I do what I can. She now wants to go to V&A because I told her I was leaving her with the kids and going with disdads.

Well, I surveyed the yard about and hour or so ago and just had a chair knocked over and some leaves in the backyard. Oh and our trash can was blown over...but nothing major. I'm hearing of trees down and some other damage around town, but so far no actual report of any twister. :thumb2:

My back is starting to get to me slugged over 5 tons of ice bag by bag into ice chests this weekend, I bet the guys at the gym can't say they lifted 5 tons this weekend, Not bad for a middle aged bloke, but it's only the beginning , by next Sunday I'll probably go through at least another 10 - 12 tonsprobably sometime the week after a visit to the Doc will be in order

Had a nice, long weekend at my MiL's house to celebrate her 70th birthday. We left early Thursday afternoon, and I got home yesterday afternoon. DW decided to stay there for about a week or two, so I get to be a bachelor again for a little while (perhaps my last chance til the little ones arrive). Unfortunately, I don't quite have enough money to enjoy it as much as I would like..

Well, I can't speak for the others, but I have a rather unfulfilling, boring desk job with in-state travel. I find that things work better in the office when I am not present or am not working on anything.

Days like this, I love my "job." I'm sitting in the library, using the free wireless, while my kids looks for books and play on the computers. Being a SAHD does have its moments - and I use a lot of them to hang out on the DIS.

Oh, and trying to take over the Tri-state area.
