Friday morning ownage. Both dds still in bed. I get to spend the day home with them. Will have to figure out something to do without staying outside long. Supposed to be another hot one.

Start of a long weekend up here. I wonder if I can start it early somehow. I'm attending an announcement at of our local ball fields at 10:30. Joe Carter, former Blue Jay, will be here to make a contribution on behalf of the Jays. I wonder if I can stretch it into a full day event?

Any chance of it being cancelled? With th heat, outdoor events ad beg scratched or moved to late at night.

We haven't had that heat here. It has rained most of the week and this morning it is 19 (or about 70 in your world) although it is suppose to be in the 90s later today.

Good to hear. The heat doesn't bother me, but I have to monitor my dds. I know to stay hydrated, but when they start complaining, I don't want to risk that. Their bodies are a lot smaller than mine.

She is really excited about having cupcakes after the game with her teammates. Since she has that late summer birthday, most of her friends from school are gone on vacations or playing on sport teams. This way, she gets to celebrate with them.

You could take a lesson from our politicians… our capital is a dung heap. The heat can’t melt it and the natural stench actually makes the verbiage emanating from the place just a smidgen more tolerable. Everyone can smell it even before it get to us, so we don’t actually have to call the filth by its proper name.

Not really stressed. Maybe more depressed. My boss is a good enough guy, but just plays the "let's get along game". Th one who for fired a couple weeks was insists upon by his bosses' boss. There is just a lot of pay inequity and job assignment garbage. I get assigned more work but not paid for it. Sure, it's nice to have a 4 day work week, but I prefer more money.



The AC in my office is set at 68 to save money. Does that count as second coolest?



Right, Cal shut it down because IU won't play at Rupp. UK had to play in Hoosier land, but when they came to KY, had to play at neutral site. Stinks of cowardess. Let's be real, Cal wants the $ for a home game.



I'm just trying to stay close to your post totals. You joined later than I and are # 5 in posts. I'd like to keep 4 spot for th BCS tournament in 2014.

I learned early on in the work environment, there will always be someone making more than you.... And there will always be slackers doing nothing.
You have a choice... Join 'em or Beat 'em.
I do believe they get what's coming to them.
My company has gone through MAJOR restructuring in the past 5 - 7 years. More than 60% reduction in staff. But I am still here. It's all about attitude and effort.

As for post count. Actually I've been on the disboards longer. Just didn't symbols across this fine group of gentleman as early as you.

Morning guys

Another night of not sleeping well. Despite AC, house just gets too muggy. I don't take heat well - but freezing temps are just fine.

Big news of the day is the balloon race at the local air show. Told the kids to come outside and look, and they spent 10-15 minutes staring at balloons going by overhead, and within a half mile or so. Pretty nice way to start the day, although I wish it were about 20 degrees cooler.

That whole karma thing is underrated. Who's to say they got what was coming to them? If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to see it, .... But, it is not all about effort and attitude. It is about who you know, how pretty you are, or how much money you have. I am unmatched in quality. As for effort, my half effort is still better than 90% of them, and as for attitude, I usually have a good one at the office, but everyone has their days. I used to give my best effort and it didn't get me anywhere. So, I guess I joined them.

Well, the diving part of our trip is over. Two cool dives today. Hawaii has a totally different topography than in the Keys. Really beat though. Having a celebratory cocktail and soon a warm shower. Dinner tonight will be at the resort. They have a killer prime rib sandwich dip.

One last picture. These are sea urchins. Not anything special but we don't see them in the Keys.

Sorry to hear about the weather over in the "Motherland" (what us Hawaiians call the mainland). Stay cool everyone. For those that need rain, I hope you get it, for those that had too much rain, I hope it is over.

Morning Gents! Officially on annual leave today but had to get a couple of things done before heading out of town including checking in. Won't be much work getting done anywhere in the system since the university makes everyone take there vacation in the fiscal year rather based on hiring date and today is the last day of the fiscal year.

Have a good weekend all! It will be a hot one for many. We set a new record yesterday at 100 and today should be hotter.

Higher than that, unfortunately. DW did complain that our room got very stuffy last night, so I might be able to bump it down a degree or two - or, at the very least, run the house fan all night. (Those little oscillating fans really don't do the job for me - we have one, but last night was still mighty uncomfortable.)

We have three ceiling fans in our house. They help tremendously during the day. She is able to breathe better to sleep when the air is cooler.

Good morning everyone

Morning folks...

Another hot one here today, so another day in the beer fridge I guess.

Tonight will be DD4's first movie theater experience, we are all seeing Brave tonight.

Finally it's the last day of school for Amelia...man, when I was a kid, we NEVER were in school this late in the year. Usually we were already at the trailer, celebrating my brother's birthday (which is today), but now school just ends at the end of June. Funny though, they still go back to school at the same time.

104 days of summer Vacation....Phineas and Ferb totally lied to us.
