I know people from around here go to PA to buy their fireworks. They say that the trick is you can't just turn around and drive back out of PA. You have to go further into PA and find another way out to avoid getting busted by the cops for trying to take them out of state.

Michigan basically changed the law this year, because enforcing it was a royal PITA, and (more honestly) - we need the sales & tax revenues.

What frosts my miniwheat is that I can now go and legally buy fireworks that are more powerful, more volatile, and and considerably more dangerous than the rocket motors I can purchase without a L1 certification. Forget buying an I or J impulse motor - I'll just strap a couple of fireworks to one of my rockets and hope.

Well, the diving part of our trip is over. Two cool dives today. Hawaii has a totally different topography than in the Keys. Really beat though. Having a celebratory cocktail and soon a warm shower. Dinner tonight will be at the resort. They have a killer prime rib sandwich dip.

One last picture. These are sea urchins. Not anything special but we don't see them in the Keys.

We were told today the troublemaker...will be at another store for the rest of the week. Mind you, the great guy who is getting sjipped out to replace her at her old store...is still getting shipped out. This sucks, who will I quote Star Wars with all day now?

We've had burn bans before... actually had one in effect most of last summer, but I've never seen the advisories about the low humidity/high wind fire warnings that we have now. I've also never seen my grass as dead as it is right now either. Even the weeds are brown.

Walked through a corn field last night and I about hurled. I've got plans to go to Kentucky for the NASCAR races this weekend. I'm at the point right now that I don't even want to spend the gas money to drive down there, but I've just been so stressed this past week, I think a couple of days of just getting away would be good. Then again, I'll see a noticeable decline in crop conditions when I get back home.

Prayers and wishing for a reversal of fortune with this weather.

I hate it when I get blamed for something that happened in one of DW's dreams.

Well, they're 4 and 5 year olds and there are a couple of whiners on the team. I'm guessing the head coach called off practice partly because of the heat and partly because he didn't want to have to listen to those couple of kids complain about the heat.

It's funny, my girls love to complain about anything and everything, yet never said boo about the heat in Florida in August last year, not once. Disney musy truely be magical

Not quite sure what to make of this...
Today, the ads on the DIS (for me, anyway) are about going to New Orleans. Well, hoop-de-doo. I could throw a cat and it would land in New Orleans. I don't want to go to New Orleans. New Orleans SQUARE, maybe, but that's in like 2 or 3 years.

Do you normally throw cats at New Orleans? Must be a regional thing.

My youngest dd turned 8 today. She got to have a day of birthday events with her older sistr and DW. They ate lunch, went shopping, and saw Brave, and returned to pick up a Merida doll. She is really happy right now. Tonite, onto softball for game and birthday softball cupcakes.

We went to the community pool today. They do not allow any flotation toys including life jackets. How am I supposed to manage two three year olds in a pool with a minimum depth of three feet without life jackets. We were confined to the 10 foot by 10 foot wading pool. The kids didn't mind but I'm not paying $12 to splash in a pool not much bigger than our inflatable pool.

Back from softball game. Our team won 20-1. She had 2 hits, one a fly out of the infield. But, she tried to bare-hand a ground ball. She's trying to make ESPN top 10. After the game, she got to celebrate with her friends. That made her the happiest of all. Here, they are singing happy birthday with her in the center.

That really sucks. I feel for ya. I'm trying very hard right now to let things slide and let the chips fall where they may. Kinda fearful of a heart attack or stroke lately, and it ain't worth it. Plus losing two of the people I like in the store has kinda mellowed me out a little. My review kinda singled me out as a store leader, and I am going to try to use it to my advantage somehow. My review plus some carefully worded comments is going to make it's way higher up, so I will see what I can make of it. Boss thinks highly of me despite my thoughts on him, so I really should step it up.

Another hot one here today, so another day in the beer fridge I guess.

Tonight will be DD4's first movie theater experience, we are all seeing Brave tonight.

Finally it's the last day of school for Amelia...man, when I was a kid, we NEVER were in school this late in the year. Usually we were already at the trailer, celebrating my brother's birthday (which is today), but now school just ends at the end of June. Funny though, they still go back to school at the same time.

104 days of summer Vacation....Phineas and Ferb totally lied to us.

If you recall last thread, when you were almost 300 posts ahead, and in the last hours I made up close to 200... as long as it stays close this time, I am pretty sure I can handle the final race.

Start of a long weekend up here. I wonder if I can start it early somehow. I'm attending an announcement at of our local ball fields at 10:30. Joe Carter, former Blue Jay, will be here to make a contribution on behalf of the Jays. I wonder if I can stretch it into a full day event?

Not really stressed. Maybe more depressed. My boss is a good enough guy, but just plays the "let's get along game". Th one who for fired a couple weeks was insists upon by his bosses' boss. There is just a lot of pay inequity and job assignment garbage. I get assigned more work but not paid for it. Sure, it's nice to have a 4 day work week, but I prefer more money.

Right, Cal shut it down because IU won't play at Rupp. UK had to play in Hoosier land, but when they came to KY, had to play at neutral site. Stinks of cowardess. Let's be real, Cal wants the $ for a home game.
