I terrible week. A bunch of idiots. That is all.

We just hit 97, Heat Index of 105, 41% humidity and dewpoint of 70.

It's not nice outside.

We should have a competition. Whoever has the hottest weather this weekend gets a free drink/dole whip at the DDC in January.

The forecast down this way looks like this:

That’s without adding in the heat index.

We've got 104, 103, 101 for Fri-Sun. And a t-ball game in the 103 heat. Fortunately we play at 9:45. And we've got that lovely southeast humidity too.

Our Igloo's are starting to melt... And our Outdoor Ice Hockey tournament was postponed until the weekend, if it stays this hot we may have to move it to an indoor rink.

We went to the community pool today. They do not allow any flotation toys including life jackets. How am I supposed to manage two three year olds in a pool with a minimum depth of three feet without life jackets. We were confined to the 10 foot by 10 foot wading pool. The kids didn't mind but I'm not paying $12 to splash in a pool not much bigger than our inflatable pool.

Got those batteries changed. Wasn't you. 4 day perks have advantage and spending time with my dds has a great amount of advantages. Pay stinks. Coworkers stink. Benefits are good (retirement, insurance, college tuition, etc). I'm ready to move to FL and retire. This week just made it that much more difficult.

My youngest dd turned 8 today. She got to have a day of birthday events with her older sistr and DW. They ate lunch, went shopping, and saw Brave, and returned to pick up a Merida doll. She is really happy right now. Tonite, onto softball for game and birthday softball cupcakes.

She is really excited about having cupcakes after the game with her teammates. Since she has that late summer birthday, most of her friends from school are gone on vacations or playing on sport teams. This way, she gets to celebrate with them.

coffee's brewing, listening to subsonic radio. Still didn't want to come in to work today. Meeting was semi cancelled yesterday, i waited on the phone for 15 minutes before I called it quits. Turns out there was a meeting, but the phone bridge was down. No one noticed.

We've had burn bans before... actually had one in effect most of last summer, but I've never seen the advisories about the low humidity/high wind fire warnings that we have now. I've also never seen my grass as dead as it is right now either. Even the weeds are brown.

Walked through a corn field last night and I about hurled. I've got plans to go to Kentucky for the NASCAR races this weekend. I'm at the point right now that I don't even want to spend the gas money to drive down there, but I've just been so stressed this past week, I think a couple of days of just getting away would be good. Then again, I'll see a noticeable decline in crop conditions when I get back home.

Morning Gents,

Yesterday was the coolest dive ever. It was a night Manta Ray dive and there were about 25 of these suckers swimming around us feeding.

Here is a pic from the early dive when one of them is starting to congregate near the feasting spot.

Last day of diving this morning. Tomorrow is a rest day and Saturday we travel to Aluani.

I've never understood the concept of selling "out of state" fireworks. Basically they're saying you can legally buy them in Indiana but you have to take them to another state to blow them up... then you've got the neighboring states all selling the same stuff as "out of state" fireworks. Talk about legal loopholes. .

I know people from around here go to PA to buy their fireworks. They say that the trick is you can't just turn around and drive back out of PA. You have to go further into PA and find another way out to avoid getting busted by the cops for trying to take them out of state.

I feel left out on the 4th because it seems everybody in my neighborhood has fireworks except me. It's kind of cool to sit in your own yard and watch them, but it can get annoying when the kids go to bed and they're still setting them off right next door.

had the day off today. China went back into space, or something like that, so our show was pre-empted.

took the kids to the sprinkler park/small beach in our town. Waited until after lunch to go and stayed the rest of the afternoon and had dinner there before coming home. I feel a bit water-logged from chasing DD around the sprinkler park. DS kept eating the sand at the beach, though.

now the kids are in bed, and DW and I are doing research for the upcoming trip.
