To start off, I would give it 3.5 out of 4 stars :thumbsup2
Merida is a different kind of princess and her passion and free spirit are evident throughout the movie. There are some exposed animated butts, so be ready if your kids are small.
Merida makes a choice that has severe consequences and she use work to settings right. This was the teaching part of the movie if you will. On the way out of the theatre, one of my DD's said "see what happens when you think you know more than Mom!". We just busted out laughing.
The movie reflects some of the dynamics found in most families and I think everyone who sees it will walk away entertained. We will see it again for sure.

I would be remissed if I didn't say how awesome the animators are. Meridas hair in close ups show how good Pixar is :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

"exposed animated butts" :rotfl2:

Thanks for the review! Can't wait to see it but it will be at least another week.

Well, the luck just keeps on rolling for me. Oldest dd broke her right arm (buckle fracture). She was wearing her flip flops riding her Scooter and flipped over the top. She is left handed, thankfully. I tell her not to wear her flip flops when she is on her scooter, so I hope she leaned from this painful consequence.

Hey, Mr. universe controller, will you post less here and work more on getting those lotto numbers to come thru for me?

Norm, sorry to hear about DD. is she in a cast?

Poor kid, I hope it heals quickly so she can enjoy some of the summer. We were lucky last fall when ds broke his right arm at a football practice, he is left-handed as well.

Don't give up. I saw some of those other 20 thread totals. You are chatty when you want to be.

No cast yet - just a splint. She fell last night and we put ice on it and took her to convenient care today. I saw her wrist this morning and knew there was problem. She was not in an overly abundance of pain last night or today. She will go to her orthopedist tomorrow and we'll go from there.

So guess who we saw today?

Today was the Grand Opening for the Disney Store at the mall near our house.

Mickey and Minnie were here for the official ribbon cutting.

And yours truly... with my best friends wife!

So as you can tell by my ticker, we are going to WDW this August.

What some of you don't know, is my kids don't know about this trip.

My DW had a great idea

What if Mickey invited them personally?

So I wrote up a letter, and was going to hand it off to some Mickey's Peop's and have him present it to my kids.

Well, when I spoke to the CM's at the store, and gave them a copy of my letter, she went to ask the Exec's who were in from Orlando, and they said they couldn't do it.

Reason: Mickey can't extend an invitation to just 1 set of kids AND besides that - EVERYONE has an OPEN invitation to join. But they said we can tell the kids with Mickey, and celebrate together.

Anyways, after seeing them I told my kids Mickey gave me a letter to pass to them.

Here's the letter.

They were excited... but not "YOUTUBE - HOLY COW excited". The excitement is building through the day though.

Thanks for the review. We will probably be taking the kids next weekend. DD is really excited because her hair matches Merida's to a T.

Sorry to her about your daughter. Hope it heals fast

Nice job Brian :thumbsup2

Obviously you didn't hit them with the "don't you know who I am!" line. :lmao:

Very cool.

Audrey graduated from her daycare today....so proud of her...

congrats, Audrey!! love the picture!!

Is that the one with Mel Gibson? :lmao:

:lmao: no, but he was in a disney movie with native americans, so i can see where you got confused.

Peanut Butter and Beverly! I'm really getting fed up with the ADR process and Disney dining. I tried making ADR's at my 180 day window and had some issues. I finally got all of them that I wanted except Le Cellier, which they weren't booking yet. I was told to watch the Disney blog for when those ADRs would open up. I saw last week, they posted that the EPCOT restaurants that offer CP packages would open up their ADR's on 6/24.

Last night I get a text from my mom telling me she heard that they are doing ADR's for Le Cellier now. :confused3 I get online and look and there are some available for dinner and there was 1 2:05 lunch available the week we are there, but on a day that doesn't work. I'm :furious:. I played by their rules and planned everything over 180 days out and then got screwed by their system.

That is all

Happy Friday.

ugh. that is a beverly. let's search the boards for anyone claiming to have an ADR for le Cellier during that time, and "make them an offer they can't refuse".

Yup. The sad thing is how to incorporate that into your parenting. My mom taught me that hard work in life pays off. I'm not sure how old I was when I realized that was a complete lie and it all came crashing down. Do you lie to your kids and give them false hope? Or, do you tell them the truth that life is mostly about who you know and how pretty you are?

I think all you can do is raise them to always do their best. At the end of the day, you just have to be satisfied that you did that. Some things are just out of our control.

Yep, that’s a tough one.
Rule-3 in our house states: Life’s not fair (and mom & dad can’t fix that).

If were I smart, I’d have taught my young’en to be a selfish monster.
But I just couldn’t do it, so I taught him resilience instead (mostly by example).

One of ours is "You get what you get, and you don't get upset!"
