I remember when people laughed at Dave Z for not knowing how to multi-quote or post pictures. Now I can do both. I finally caught up to Zerfs!!

I wanted to call out Matt for pushing Reggie Bush in to the end zone at USC but chickened out.

He wouldnt have been able to hit you :lmao:, He can't hit a wide open WR :rotfl2:

Very cool! What kind of job do you do that you get to hangout with the Heisman and a couple of players in Vegas?

Yep, that’s a tough one.
Rule-3 in our house states: Life’s not fair (and mom & dad can’t fix that).

If were I smart, I’d have taught my young’en to be a selfish monster.
But I just couldn’t do it, so I taught him resilience instead (mostly by example).

Yeah, we go with that same fairness thing. I try to teach them to survive and to think for themselves.

That's a tough one. I tell them that they need to try hard, and work at things, and that it generally pays off in the end. But, on the other hand, I have let them know that life is not fair, and we are very fortunate to not have the short end of the stick in a lot of ways.

Sometimes, hard work pays off. Other times, hard work pays off in you getting more work because your overpaid coworkers are idiots.

My Peanut Butter and Beverly moment. Printed out my travel docs last night and I found Enterprise had me picking up the car on July 30, not June 30. Called them and they quoted me a price $375 more than I was originally quoted. The agent could not do any thing about it nor could her supervisor. They put in some kind of action thing and "someone will get back to me." Probably when I am in Kona. So now I do not have a car in Oahu. We will see what happens but if it is $600 for a compact, I will just rent a car at the resort on a day by day basis. Screws up my plans though.s.

No screw up. The old old bait and switch is a common sales tactic. What are you gonna do? Not go to Hawaii. Try a last minute booking with another company? They got you.

ok another getting to know you.. what would you do if you opened the fridge door and there was only two beers left?

1] would you real quick drink them both cause there are not enough for all three guys?
2] would you speak up and say ok guys time for beer run?
3] would you offer it to the other two guys?
4] would you just quickly close the door so that one of the other guys could find this travesty?
5]other?

other dads feel free to chime in lol

I grab both beers. One is for me to drink. The second is for the other most drunk guy. I hand the keys to the other guy for a beer run. We all go to get beer.

Obviously, this is a hypothetical situation because in my house, we would never get down to two beers. That is simply unheard of.

Wow this would put me at a disadvantage.. As you see in the floor plan ,my bed will be in the master room as the other two get the other room. I will not have line of site to the fridge to see if there are any late night beer nappers.
dcont_OKW_room_layout.jpg

Kegerator. Keep it in the center of the room for easy access.

Well, at least Lebron showed some class at the end by his show of sportsmanship to OKC (he's learned something since he left Cleveland). Dwayne Wade on the other hand looked like a fool.

And of course he isn't as good as anyone who won a championship with Da Bulls! I mean come on, he's no Bill Wennington or Jud Buechler.

Yes, he really did. I think LeBron is just an incredible player to watch. If Durant will work on his defense, he'll move up ther as well. It really was a fun series to watch.

We have a saying here at work for those slackers who get ahead. It goes something like "It's only about who you know or..." I'd better leave it at that.

Forgot one, or how much money you have. They always get ahead.

It really is who you know.

I know you. Wil that get me a trip to WDW?

Now that is really freakin cool. Do you need a highly paid, unqualified assistant who wil travel with you? I'm available.

As qualified as Zerfs? That's quite an accomplishment.

Haven't been on the dis much. Got some catching up to do...

Morning Men!

Had a good Fathers Day, hung around the house and chilled all day. Played my new xbox game from the family, Arkham City. Its definitely harder than Arkham Asylum. Hope everyone else had a good day as well.
That game was great. After I finished the story, I just traded it in. The Riddler challenges were too much for me.
just wanted to stop in and say .I hope everyone had a great fathers day yesterday.
It was a good day. I got Dad's Passes that the kids downloaded from Disney. They were good for things like clearing the table, raking leaves, car wash. Nice stuff. Plus a book from the wife and the go-ahead to buy a shirt off the disneystore online.
Oh man. What have I done? Somehow I got this crazy idea in my head that I could do the 1/2 marathon in January and my sister convinced me to sign up with her. So I bit the bullet last night and registered.

So I guess what this means is that I will be at the DDC so long as my body survives the training. I don't think I can run 1 mile at this point. I think my legs will need me to lose another 40 lbs to endure the rigors of 13.1.

How does the saying go? Nothing worthwhile is every easy.
Welcome aboard! I unfortuantely have had to put a stop to my training. Any exercise (weights or cardio) is bringing about moderate chest pain. EKG says I'm not dying but it hurts too much to do anything for a while.
Welcome Jeff!

Finally got in for the old snip at 430 or so yesterday.
laying in the bed surfing, just me and my bag of peas. Everything seemed to go well.

Matt
I don't remember what day you posted this, but I hope the pain is over. I wasn't right for about a week.
Oh I wish I was in Disney right now it is cooler there then will be here.98 today could hit 101 tomorrow.:scared:
I was in 110 degrees in the desert yesteday. I don't know why people live out there.
There's a bill for clogging a clubhouse toilet??? Why bother becoming a member then?

:rotfl2:
A bill? I thought you'd get a trophy!
Thanks, he was pretty happy with his report card (and so were we) straights A's for our boy in both French and English.
Straight "Eh"'s
Question. Finish packing or watch the Heat game? What a conundrum.
Pack. I can tell you who won.
Good morning dads and Happy Friday :cool1:

Taking the girls to see this little non advertised indie movie called Brave tonight, anyone else heard of it? :lmao:
I hear it's another Pixar gem. Write a mini-review on the movie thread when you're done.
Very cool! What kind of job do you do that you get to hangout with the Heisman and a couple of players in Vegas?
Among other things, I handle a Nissan franchise. Every year or so, they have a national dealer meeting where they feed us, give us free booze and show us new product. I like food and I suppose it's important for me to see the cars but I rarely drink at these things. I'm a...nervous flyer and don't ever do anything that might cause an unpleasant flight. It's usually in Vegas and is usually a waste of time. I'm living on East Coast time so all I wanted to do is go back to my room and sleep. Then I wake up at 4 am and wander the casinos and hotels. But as for the second part of your question, Nissan sponsors the Heisman trophy and so they got a few past winners to show up for photos. Before the "Car Salon" where the dealers get drunk and look at cars, we have the big meeting followed by entertainment. This year it was Brian Setzer. I enjoyed that.
Should have done it and then stepped back and let him fight it out with the domer. :lmao::rotfl2:

I didn't really know what to say to them so I just asked them if it was weird having a USC and ND guy hanging out together. Tim said, "Nah, we just let that stuff go."

Now that is really freakin cool. Do you need a highly paid, unqualified assistant who wil travel with you? I'm available.

Sure! Sometimes these things are in Nashville (Nissan's HQ). That's not too far from you, is it? There's also the Chrysler one I'll be going to in a few months. I'll see if any former Wildcats will be there.

Cool. So, if we're looking for a new vehicle, can you cut us some deals? DisDad convention - sponsored by Nissan.

My goodness, we've created a multi-quoting monster!

I didn't really know what to say to them so I just asked them if it was weird having a USC and ND guy hanging out together. Tim said, "Nah, we just let that stuff go."

Or you could ask Leinart, "This is much better than that hot tub picture, right?"

We are very loyal Nissan owners. We are rocking in a Quest right now. Loved our Maxima and would take another one in a heart beat :thumbsup2

Tim is a class guy.

Tim would take him. For petes sake, he was a Raider his whole career. That alone makes him a little more intimidating.

Nashville is 2 hours south and has a Rainforest Cafe, my youngest dds favorite restaurant. Let me know and I'll drive the family down with me. Of course, you can sweeten the deal with a free Nissan Titan.

That sounds scary. Do thy have a cause?

I can get you the same great deal all of our customers get (can you tell I've answered that question before?) As for the pain, originally diagnosed as Costochondritis. Google it. It improved but never completely went away. As the head coach for Team Barry, I need to at least be able to run a mile - which I couldn't do yesterday.
Or you could ask Leinart, "This is much better than that hot tub picture, right?"
I wondered how he feels doing stuff like this. The college stud who hasn't quite panned out yet. He seemed like a nice guy. I'll root for him.
Tim would take him. For petes sake, he was a Raider his whole career. That alone makes him a little more intimidating.
I didn't expect Matt to be so tall or Tim to be so short. For reference, I'm about 6' 0".

Nice zoo pics Norm....

Thanks.

Yeah, I figured you've had that question before, so that's why I changed it to a free Titan. Hey. If I'm going to ask for something, might as well go big.

I googled Costochondritis. It sounds painful. Glad it's not life threatening though.

The kids look cute. Were you holding a beer in front of the giraffe? Is that what made him drool?

I was going to ask if this was your mistake, or Enterprises, but since you didn't remember what day you were supposed to leave on your last trip, I'm just going to go with the safe assumption here. :rolleyes1

Hopefully they'll work something out for you and get back to you before it is too late. Either way, you're going to be in Hawaii, so how bad can it be?

Smart A$$. It was their fault. I am just the one getting screwed.

OK, whatever you say. BTW the parade will be on Monday.

$375?? :scared1: That's not cool. It's not a huge island, can you just bike everywhere?

Hope you have a great time. I can't wait to hear about it. Will there be a TR?

Not going to ruin the vacation but it is a speed bump. Bike? Nope. My butt is too skinny. We are going horseback riding and that is enough for me. And I hope to do a TR.

Sometimes, just sometimes my job is cool.

Very cool. Did you try to hold it up and strike the pose?

Finally packed. Clothes took about 15 minutes, dive gear was about and hour and camera stuff was another hour. Some consolidation is needed but we are almost ready. Errands are also done. Can't wait.
