just becarefull with linoleum in the basement. you could have mold between the cement floor and the linoleum. we had carpet for years in the basement and a few years ago, we got water. not alot but it did got on the carpet. i didnt take any chances so i ripped out the carpet. i painted the floor and just put a big area rug down.

:scared1: do I have to pull up the carpet AND the linoleum to look????

Post 1,000 coming up next and thought it appropriate to post over on the Brag Wall since without my kids I would not even be a DISDad and would still be "notafan". Sometime when we do a meet, for the price of a Dole Whip, I will be happy to share the back story that had me "notafan" after my first trip. It begins with SWMBO, MIL, FIL and I travelling from Raleigh in an extended cab S-10 with no AC and only gets worse.

Congrats on 1000!

You better keep her lacrosse stick handy. Smart and attractive will have the boys lining up.

Greetings from the NICU (Free WiFi! Although I'll have to check the insurance statement - they probably bill for it somewhere...)
Anyway, Ryder is soundly sleeping in his crib so I spent the last hour or so going back and catching up on everything. Thanks for all of the kinds words - I read every single one of them and really appreciate how awesome it is to associate with you fellas.

For those not aware, Ryder was not breathing when he was born. Nurses started chest compressions and an oxygen bag. The NICU team was in the room in short order (the doc later said a door was stuck/locked so he jumped through a window to get there. :thumbsup2) They got him breathing and rushed him up to the NICU. I was allowed up about 45 minutes later (Bambi had the epidural, so she couldn't go yet) He was hooked up to some monitors but looked fine and was turning the nice pink color that babies are supposed to be. He has tested positive for a GSB infection (I think that's the name. Lots of medical terms floating around). Anyway, he's going great. Eating good, loving he attention from his big sister and big brother. He needs to stay here to have a 10-day course of antibiotics to make sure the infection is completely gone. ...

Scary. Prayers for all. Times like that I wish I was on FB to keep up better.

...

And, the view from the hammock.

A wonderfully relaxing vacation. I do miss the theme parks, but am having a lot of fun here. ...

My favorite kind of vacation. Great pictures! Glad you are having a good time.

In pain. Ugggggghh

Went to walk in clinic today and got some pain killers and anti-inflammatory pills.

Hopefully a bit of relief may be in sight. ...

Sorry to hear that and hope that the wonders of modern medicine bring you relief. If not, I can get some leeches from the river and white lightning from the other holler and we can do some blood-letting. We don't hold to all that modern medicine in these parts.

Congrats on 1000. I think you've painted a pretty good picture of the notafan part with just that little teaser. As someone who just returned from a vacation with the in laws, I get it.

Posted this on the new forum too, but we're watching the ACM awards tonight and when Toby Keith finished performing Red Solo Cup my 2 year old DS yelled "Hooray!" and started singing it. Trying to decide whether I should be scared or amused.

Some more vacation pictures.

Thanks for the pics and report! Looks like a very nice place and it sounds like you're having a good time. :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for the good wishes in dealing with this pain.

It sounds similar to what you describe Dave. Neck and shoulders. Burning sharp pain.

I was given Celebrex for the pain, and Flexaril for the inflammation. Hopefully this will do it.

Hope it works out for you and you're over the pain quickly. And if it does, can you share what worked best for you? I get similar flair ups a few times a year. (Bursitis runs in the family :headache:)

Not a quick responder tonight, must be cuz I was playing Disney Universe. DW plans on getting me the Phineas and Ferb add-on pack, so I can play as Doof! :yay:

One of the big selling points of the new house was the hardwood floors. We thought it would help with the dust and DD's breathing issues. Only helps if we keep the floors clean though. :rolleyes1

I think this week I am going to look into getting some houseplants. We have none and they supposedly really help keep the air clean.

We have hardwood floors, just dust that gathers more on things. We really live in a too-small apartment for the four of us, more space would help.

As for plants, well, they don't live too well with me and DW, tend to die off mysteriously :lmao:

It might be a allergy to cleaning:confused3

Nah, while it takes me a little bit to get going, I don;t mind it so much. I like the sense of accomplishment.

Besides that, everything is cool.

Bleh...pain sucks, hopefully the pills will offer some relief and you can get over this quick.

Morning Guys!!

Looks like a very long day, was up several times with the wife, who has some sort of stomach bug. Got to leave late for work so I can take kids to school, and possibly leave early to pick them up, depending on how she feels.

On a side note, the bridal portrait shoot I did yesterday went well, and I think she is really going to like the shots!

Matt

Busy busy week ahead at the ol' Liquor Store :rotfl2: Today we swap out the old displays for the new ones, change all the promos (sales, bonus Air miles etc) signage to reflect the new theme, a major work day (We do this once every 4 weeks). Not to mention lots of incomming stock for Easter, one of the busiest weekends of the year! (Thursday & Saturday will be madhouses). Going to head in early to get a start on things. Have a good one guys!

Good Morning!! Glad you had a good time watching grown (over-grown?) men in speedos rolling around with each other! :lmao:

good luck with the doc. Keep taking those baby steps, they all add up!

Glad to hear he's doing so well now! Births can be rocky starts, and how fortunate that there were folks there who could turn things around so quickly (I have no earthly idea why people would take the risk to do a home birth...)

FYI, the infection is Group B Strep (GBS). It's by far the most common infection in newborns, but fortunately easily treated if caught in time (like for Ryder!) Congratulations again!

Happy to share. This has been a lot of fun. Last night was th campfire with Disney sing a long a s'mores. Unfortunately, phone doesn't take good night pictures. We all had a great time.

Hi Matt :)

Good morning guys :surfweb:

Morning Dave.

The refurb was a great way to go, cheaper and functional. I really like it.

So my boys did an overnight campout without me this weekend. It was my younger son's first campout as a Boy Scout (from Cub Scouts), and the first one that either has done without me there. I was a bit nervous about this, since I had to work, plus, it sleeted all morning before they left.

I'm happy to report that they both did great. A big step, particularly for my oldest (the one on the autistic spectrum). They even did a 5 mile hike! Very proud of them!

Looks stunning down there, Very nice. Enjoy!
.

Thanks.

That is the plan one of these years. Or, better yet, tile floors on my beach house.

great pics norm!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks.

Norm...

The pics of Hilton Head look great...making me anxious to get back there in August!!! Glad you like Skull Creek Boathouse...that lobster looked great..my mouth is watering!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks again for recommendation.

In pain. Ugggggghh

Went to walk in clinic today and got some pain killers and anti-inflammatory pills.

Hopefully a bit of relief may be in sight.

Besides that, everything is cool.

Sorry to hear you are still in pain. Can you get a second opinion?

Norm, Hilton Head looks awesome. You might have just convinced about 600 some odd families to go there. So much for that less crowded feeling.

Do I get a commission on all futures bookings? :rotfl: it is a Disney property, so you know that would make it extra special. The campfire was a nice touch last night, and the s'mores just made my dds so happy. (note to self - Save the money and make snorers in back yard.). Heading to the beach today.

That is an awesome picture. :thumbsup2

Holy Cow... :scared1:

Last night we got a call from WDW Travel Company.

Apparently our name was drawn during the ONE MORE DISNEY DAY PROMOTION. They were unable to get a hold of us because, I was still registered on the WDW websight with my old address.

Anyways, I had to verify my identity, current address, phone numbers, etc... There was a huge questionnaire, and multiple security checks, and a bunch of forms and releases.

But it turns out we won a trip for 4 to WDW or Disneyland, flights, deluxe accommodations, spending money, etc... :cool1:  :cool1:

We are already going to WDW in August, so I am hoping we can go to Disneyland early in 2013. Still working out all the details...but in the mean time we can't believe it.

April Fools

Well played, Brian! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

A wonderfully relaxing vacation. I do miss the theme parks, but am having a lot of fun here. It is time for dinner - the choices are seafood or seafood. Hmmmmm, decisions.

Sounds like you're having a great time...what if you're not a seafood fan? :crazy2:
