Late-night catch-up time. At least it;s 6-7 pages, not 14-15 :lmao:

Look at what my DW found while setting up for our church's yard sale happening this Sat morning:

A little beat up, but I hear these guys are pretty rare...

Nice find. Love that movie, had a record that played the songs and general story, played it a lot way back in the day. Love watching the "Phoney King of England" segment, seeing how much of it was "cut and pasted" from other Disney movies.

i no longer have the lunch box but i do have my thermos from my first day of school. that would be sept 1970. sorry its a little fuzzy. its hard to read but it is a disney circus thermos.

bda2ebdc.jpg

:lmao: this thermos is older than alot of the dads.

Yup :rolleyes1

this week I weighed in at...

229 lbs!!!!

lost another 3 lbs and broke the 230 mark!! Down 11 lbs total in 4 weeks!!

Great job! :cool1:

Well I successfully made it through the work day. In fact, my boss let me go home about an hour early. :cool1:

Now for the last minute packing and list checking.

Still trying to figure out how I'm going to get those Magical Express yellow/green luggage tags on our luggage without the girls getting wise to it.

Of course they can't read - but you don't have to read with a big Mickey Head on em'! ;)

Could you attach them as you check them in, while DW distracts the kids? I know for mine, shiny objects will do. :lmao:

Thanks Dave....

I think we finally have everything packed and checked off the list until the morning.

Time for bed....4:45a is coming real soon.

Have a great and safe trip!

Only get 1 wish a year, this is the one I want to happen:thumbsup2 guess we will see soon, my hand palm is itching:banana:

I'd settle for enough to pay everything off, and a trip this year too. Hope you had a good birthday nonetheless. :thumbsup2

DW is looking into possibly changing our reservations from POP to Animation Studios.
Any good or bad comments on them from you dads yet?

POP has everything one needs. I'm not liking the $$ for a suite, might as well go to a moderate. Only the Little Mermaid wing will be normal rooms I think. The only thing making me shy a bit from the POP for next year is I'm not sure if the bus system will be worse if the share busses with the AoA.:confused3

:woohoo:
Finished a long week of night shifts, now get to have a weekend off. No Sarnia trip planned this time, going to do some good 'ol spring cleaning instead, focus on the kid's clothes and their room. Want to get rid of unused/broken toys too, handy to have a community donation box right outside the building. Won't be the most restful of weekends, but I look forward to the sense of accomplishment when it's all done!

Good morning all! I'm never up this early but today's a special day. Richmond's 10k is a really cool event and it seems llike everyone runs it. I got up early to have some breakfast and... it's raining. Wasn't expecting that. And according to weather.com, there's a great chance it will be raining when my wave starts. Oh well, it should be fun anyway.

good morning all!!! off to work for me this morning. im working for a guy who is covering my sat. while im at wdw in september. its raining so it worked out good for me. cant do much outside in the rain. have a good morning!:thumbsup2

Randall is still gone on his trip isn't he? Or is he the one person from Maryland that won the Megamillions lotto. I am guessing the total was over $700 million but that number hasn't been released yet.

I only won $7 :sad2:

I'd be happy with that as well.

Nice exchange.

Freak your kids out and pick up the jelly fish. I always throw them at my buddies, it's fun to watch them scream like girls.

Are you goin got pay for my child's therapist? I've already screwed them up enough all on my own.

Good morning all. I beautiful start here. We are heading to the beach house today for some fun.

Okay, I'd even settle for the trip this year...although DW would chime in for enough to buy into DVC

I say that myself alot but yet, I keep pulling stuff...:rotfl2:

How's your weather down there?

Good morning all, no millions for us either.
I was thinking that AOA would be so much more to, we love POP amd am driving this time so no bus issues.

Morning guys!

No mega millions for this guy. Too bad too, I had already begun to spend it (in my head at least!)... :lmao:

I admit, I'd love to try AoA, but can't justify the cost, especially if A) there is only 4 of us so there is lots of room for us in the POP, especially now that the stroller is out of the equation. B) we are not usually in the room much to start, so the cheaper the better. The suite would be great as well if we planned a lot of meals in the room too. I figure next year we'll still go POP and if the bridge is open between the resorts, at least have a walk around AoA

I had heard or read that they may not open the bridge because "The amenities are not at the same level." :confused3

I had heard the same thing. A shame if so. I'd be more enticed to try AoA if allowed to walk the grounds without having to bus it/long walk around it. :confused3

I tend to agree... about not being in the room, except to sleep.

Our kids will use the resort pool a couple times during our trip, but they are not super picky about the shape or ammenities of the pool, they more look to see if the water is wet... :thumbsup2

We generally stay at values, but we are trying a Moderate this go 'round, simply because when we booked with Free Dining, they moderate offered full DDP, and the values offered QSDP (which required an upgrade).

The difference in price after upgrading was very minimal (especially because I would have to upgrade both kids as adults to get the full DDP choices for them, oh and 'cause DD is going to be 10 and therefore is a Disney adult).

We've done DDP last 2 trips (this will be 3), and we LOVE it. However with the price of it sky rocketing it does not make $$$ sense to pay for it anymore. So if it's free we take it. :)

We are saving $1443.12 with the Free Dining this year. :thumbsup2

I just worked out the quote - and to go to POP and upgrade QS to DDP, we would have saved exactly $100.

It is worth the extra $100 for me to have Queen Size beds (hopefully) for 7 nights, and to try the Moderate.

Race is over. Thanks for the well wishes. It was about 10 degrees warmer than we would have liked and a little damp. The adrenaline factor was less than last year due to the rain and what seemed like smaller crowds. Plus of the 34 bands, it seemed like 10 of them didn't perform due to the weather. But on the upside, I beat last year's time by 14 minutes (I was shooting for 15). It was a leisurely 71 minutes last year and unofficially I finished in 57:25 this morning. Time for a nap.:faint:

Well, I guess you've got to look at it from the positive side of things. If other people are messing things up that you have to come in and fix at the last second, I guess that would be some job security. :thumbsup2 :lmao: I understand your frustration though.

Try not to take it out on anymore laundy baskets or baby gates.

Thanks. I will try not to.

dont feel bad, we all need a little fit every so often. briana laughs everytime i tell this story. i use an electric weed wacker. last summer im wackin the weeds and the thing stops. :confused3 i wiggle the cord by the wacker and it works for 10 more seconds. stops again. this goes on for three weeks. finally, i take the thing apart, clean it up and it works for about 2 min. and it stops again!!! wiggle the cord and it starts, for about another 3 seconds. i unplug it and my 3/4 italian takes over!!! i grab it like a baseball bat and smash the &^%$^&*(*& on the side walk into a zillion pieces!!!! :lmao: i know, didnt solve anything but i felt better. i go out and buy a battery operated one. i hang it in the garage and plug it into the same extension cord i used for the weed wacker. what the heck, no power.:confused3
so, it wasnt the wacker that was no good it was the stinkin EXTENSION CORD THAT WAS NO GOOD!!!!:lmao:
we come home a few nights ago and one of my path lights were out. i said to tammy, must be a burned out bulb. brianas in the back seat laughing away. i said whats so funny. she said, look out mom, tomorrow we are going to find all the path lights smashed into a million pieces on the sidewalks. :lmao: now i see why lions eat there young! :lmao:

Thanks for sharing. Makes me feel a little better. Right after it happened I felt so stupid and guilty, my mind started scheming to try and play it off to DW as an accident. But a few minutes later I was texting her to let her know what I did.

I think we may have salvaged the baby gate. One of the pressure pads had broken off. It was actually the plastic frame of the gate that cracked and allowed it to pop out. I managed to get it back in and it's pretty secure, and I got the frame back together, glued it, and covered with tape to help hold it in place and prevent any cuts.

the laundry basket is a lost cause. :sad2:

older and in some cases, in better shape!! :rotfl2:

Prayers for your son and continued good luck on weight loss. My youngest has asthma. I hit my 20 lb weight loss before I left on vacation. Dinner today was the sea shack - fried seafood.

Thanks. DD went through it too, and keeping fingers crossed because she seems to be growing out of it like they said she might. Just in time for DS's turn.

Congrats on hitting the 20lb mark! I have no intention of being a stickler once we hit vacation. Hopefully all the walking around WDW will help burn the extra calories off and it won't be too bad.

What's the markup? We want this venture to be successful.

For local delivery at the resorts, we could charge a slight markup and hope for tips for delivering them to wherever they're needed.

For shipping, I imagine it would have to be significant. But what do I know?? I am thinking along the lines of omaha steaks and shipping them in little styrofoam coolers with dry ice??

Thanks guys. So let me try a live report with my new iPad and photobucket app.

Here we are at the entrance at 7:00 AM. We left Owensboro around 7:30 PM night before, and stopped for breakfast at Starbucks.

Here is the view over the island.

We did the over 1 mile walk to the beach house. Here is the view of th ocean.

temporary-1.jpg

After being cramped in the car all night on a 2 hour nap (thanks to wonderful DW or I couldn't have made it), it was a long walk but fun. I really liked the beach house. The beach at HHI is a lot bigger than th one at Vero, but I think I like Vero better since the beach is right there and you don't have to drive or ride the bus to the beach. Still, it is absolutely beautiful here. I cold definitely see myself vacationing here on a regular basis. And, with DVC, the dues cover my room. I just have to pay for food. Hopefully, more pics later.

Very nice!! Thanks for posting the pics!!

I think I read in one of Mark's trip reports that calories don't count when you're on vacation. So you've got nothing to worry about!!
