We just got back as well...

It's my folks anniversary, so we took them out to Frankie Tomatto's. It's a local Italian all you can eat place.

My kids love it, and they have big beef ribs (always a hit)... :thumbsup2

Less then 2 hours...

You going?

wow, the dis is slow tonight. im not sure yet. a buddy of mine is going up to his daughter and son-in-law in a few weeks to help them out with something. i may go along for the ride and lend a hand. they both are toronto police officers and i know they live near the falls.
its about a 6 hour drive for us. we would leave friday afternoon and come back home sunday. ill let you know.

Ok... sounds cool.

I'll buy ya some peanut butter... ;)

Time to call it a day. Got some official work done, some house cleaning and some horseradish transplanted.

I guess the obvious answers of running moonshine and marrying your cousin are available.

yeah, but those things are second nature, so you can still do them while watching college basketball. no need to stop.

Congrats.

Thanks!

Happened to me at WDW (even more embarrassing while trying to buy dinner for your Mom & her husband at Disney World!

ugh. wouldn't want that to happen.

Congrats on the weight loss! That's a hard road buddy. Keep at it!

Thanks!

Working a 24hour+ tomorrow. Trying to squeeze spring prep in today. Getting all the scout camping stuff together, lacrosse equipment check, & Hunger Games!

busy day, hope it all went smoothly and you had an enjoyable day before that long work shift.

Check the 5 minute and 50 second mark of this Proud Canadian!

:lmao::rotfl2: love the old howie. The new howie is okay. but the old howie was better.

Kinda begs the question though, why shop at Target, if you can't get a straight answer from them.

In a perfect world, I shouldn't have to ask them questions at all!

How much do you want to bet Dave's Annual Pass, says "anuul paz".

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:lmao:

Definitely. Information, not knowledge. I have found my life is somewhat more sane now that I have limited Facebook to 5 friends that refuse to communicate any other way. We never hooked up the TV when we moved to Kentucky. The weekly paper is only 8-12 pages long so we don't bother and the local radio is country music so it never gets turned on. I have even tried to cut back on the internet. I am down to only checking a couple of sites now.

We keep throwing information at people in short bursts and flashy packages to get their attention, and then wonder why kids can't seem to focus in school or concentrate. :confused3

Okay, so, i just finished Book 5 of Game of Thrones.

and, i think now I'll have time in my life again to waste in the internet and playing guitar.

As it stands, I'm pretty sure I've missed at least 3 Disdad's threads since the first one I found.

You just reminded me that I still have to figure out a way to watch season 2 because I canceled my HBO! Maybe verizon's doing another 3-months free promotion... hmm... i'll call them.

How'd you like book 5?

I have a herniated disc. I am hoping this weight loss will help alleviate the stress. I have pain killers and muscle relaxers when it flairs.

ouch.

Unfortunately, not sure I could survive without all my information access - phone, iPad, wii, tv, etc. I could survive, but it would be difficult. I admire your ability to do that.

DW asked me today about whether we'd have to do something to enable our phones to work in the bahamas when we're on our cruise. I told her the whole family is going and it's for four days, we won't need to use them. She didn't like that answer.

My youngest is just dominating this year in soccer. After her 3rd game, she has 8 goals. I'm a really proud dad.

good for her!!

Just got back from the Hunger Games. 2 thumbs up! Excellent movie!

hearing good things about it. DW has no interest, so probably won't see it in theaters. Going to the movies is purely a date thing or a family outing thing for us.

that's $7 well spent! :thumbsup2

Just got back home from watching "Hunger Games" (have two teenage daughters!!) the first part was great!! The second kissy, cheesy part.. Eh... there was a lot that was not explained. There was not enough survival skills, just running and magical healing salve!

What's up with the fact that the only way for her to survive is to be th last one.. She's an awesome bow hunter, but whe she get the bow she won't pick them off one by one? The scene where she destroys the food by shooting a bag of fruit.. She could have easily just shot the lone kid and taken all the food she wanted before destroying it all!! :confused3

i remember that scene with the food in the book and there was a thought process about it that she goes through. In fact, there's a lot of that in the series and I suspect it doesn't all translate to the big screen.

This was also the first time that I have had a chance to talk with my dad since he returned from his volunteer trip to West Liberty, KY to help recover after the tornado. It's always so interesting to hear the tales from these trips. They never know what they will face when they arrive. Typically they cut trees and patch roofs, but this time they built a new school to replace one that was destroyed.

I'm proud of my Dad and the work that he does and only hope to live up to his life standards. :thumbsup2

Sounds like you have yourself one heck of a dad!

didn't have a whole lot to catch up on today.

busy saturday for us. DD had dance class, after which we went out to lunch, where we met up with some fellow DISers from the DVC thread. This turned out to be my first ever DisDad meet with Jeff aka Disney67!

He had the camera, and the pics to prove it. So he'll post those.

It was a great lunch with Jeff, his family and a few other DVCers from our area.

After lunch, we went shopping for party supplies to start stocking up and preparing for DS's big #1 in a couple of weeks. Then it was home to try and relax.

working tomorrow, and things to do in the morning before that. So, I'm calling it a night here.

Morning guys. Got some of the grass cut yesterday :headache:

It was still wet and too tall. I am going to tune up the mower today and try to finish it by the afternoon.

Any dads out there have hammocks? Any suggestions on where to get a good one?

good morning all!!!

Morning guys. Another nice day down here although expecting rain this afternoon. Summer is coming quickly.

Not much on my plate today. Need to do a grocery run (forgot dog food) and watching the tournament. Still bummed that Florida lost. They did have a good run though. At least I don't owe Norm another beer.

Everyone have a great day.

Got a busy day here...

Have to get my DD to a birthday party at 12:00.

Then DD and DW have a baby shower at 2:30.

While me and DS are heading over to Costco to get new tires but on the car.

We also have some grocery shopping to do, I also promised him lunch out (since DD has 2 parties).

And did I mention the house is a mess!

Anyone see this...

According to KennyThePirate: Russell and Dug will be replacing Flik at DAK starting Today!

Agree wholeheartedly. I will take some pics with my phone and if wifi, check out a couple sites, but if not, then I'm not worried about it.

Glad you got the meet and pics.

My granddad had one on his farm. He put it up under this old oak tree in the front yard. Nice, calm view and relaxing. One of my fond memories.

You made the right call on that one. What a close game. FL played very well.

I hear ya.
Religious Ed at 11:30.
Soccer game at 1.
Soccer ref at 2:30.
Soccer ref at 4:00.
Birthday party at 5:00.
2nd birthday party at 6:00 (we are skipping this one).

Just don't look at the house. Easy solution.
