Nah, probably somewhere classier like Harveys or Swiss Chalet :rotfl2:

Can we tell ghost stories now? :woohoo: I've got several. Hospitals are usually crawling with them. My hospital now is a relatively new one (only 16 years old), so there aren't many stories here, but the old Northwestern Hospital in Chicago was over 100 years old and in the building of a former orphanage. Lots of ghost stories there.

My most memorable was something that happened to me in the middle of the night on-call. The hospital had 8 inpatient floors, but a 9th floor that led to the helicopter pad and was used just for storage (you needed a special key to get up there). The ICU was on the 2nd floor and the staff elevator that went all the way up to 9th floor was just outside the ICU. One night, sometime around 2-3am, one of the older security guards got off the elevator and stumbled into the ICU white as a sheet. He told me that he was doing his night rounds, checking on the floors. He took the elevator up to the 9th floor and was going to work his way down. When the elevator opened on 9, there was a young woman at the door. He nodded to her, thought it was somewhat strange that someone was up there (but people did occassionally go there to get supplies), but didn't think much of it. She entered the elevator and he stepped out. He stepped out of the elevator only a few feet to take a quick look around. He saw that there was no one up there, and turned back to the still open elevator door. The young woman was gone. Just disappeared. He got in the elevator and forced it to go down all the way to the ICU. ICUs are typically the most bright, well-lit, and active parts of the hospital at night. The guy was a mess. I would be surprised if he ever went back up there.

My hospital is much older...therefore many more stories...one that I had happen to me was in the middle of the night on call . I was headed from the front desk with some orders on patients..I was able to see my reflection in the window at the end of the hall...following behind me was a slender and tall man dressed in black. I could hear his footsteps...At that time of night I figured he must have been lost and needed some guidance...I turned around to help him...he was gone....and when I turned back around the reflection in the window was gone also!:rolleyes1 We have stories of nurses coming to help patients that have been dead for years...the patients hae no idea who is helping them and then describe her to the other nurses...that is on 4th floor....we have a tunnel that connect the old building with the new building and it is how bodies are transferred to the morgue out of patient biew....there are MANY stories of things going on down there but I have never seen it myself.

Man, that stuff sounds awesome to me, it's been an intrest of mine for around 25 years now. Never experienced anything myself either, but here's hoping right? It'd be neat if the store was haunted, but the only one I've heard of is in the Brantford area.

really weird is my parent's place. Grew up there, lived there for 26 years. Never a thing happened or any hints of it other then my brother claiming to see an arm in front of the fridge when he was really young. My parents are not believers or anything. So one year out of the blue they mention to me seeing someone walking down the hall when laying in bed. Dad saw this, and he is NOT the type of guy for this. It has never been seen since that I know of, but still so out-of-the-blue. DW and MIL saw some stuff in a place they lived in in Sarnia, and as an eerie footnote, we were visiting some of her friends during a visit, and there were other people there too, "friends of friends" if you will. Topic of ghosts comes up and DW relates her story. We discover the placed she lived in where it happened is the place where this guy's brother was killed. (Sounds urban legendish, but all true)

There are people who don't carry openers with them at all times?!

It's part of the job. :thumbsup2

What about those beer bottles?

More of a challenge to crush against the forehead. :headache:

We officially passed ROFR for BWV resale. Now, just have to sign the contract and send the money. We now have 100 more DVC points. Hopefully, the contract and points will be finalized in time for me to book April 2013 at the Boardwalk.
Congrats!

For some reason, there seemed to actually be a little bit of interest in this yesterday, so now that you've made the mistake of encouraging me, here's a couple of farm pics from today. Dad had my tractor and cultivator so I was in his tractor disking corn stalks today. Didn't have my passenger with me any though. He was spending quality time with his aunt.

Just trying to keep you on your toes... :) :thumbsup2

We didn't actually end up going out tonight, had to take DS to Beavers, and my DD has a birthday this weekend, so needed to grab a present, and DW has a baby shower this weekend, so she need to pick up a few things.

We will go out Saturday Night, probably to the Keg (The REAL Canadian Le Cellier).

As for Harvey's / Swiss Chalet. For some strange reason, around her birthday every year she gets a craving for a Harvey's burger. So if her birthday falls during the week, that's what we get (Then we go out somewhere nicer on the weekend).

Congratulations! It is on my list but I forget which of the millions is dedicated to that purchase. SWMBO has spoken for most of the first several already. Guess I better get my nose to the grindstone.

Update on the building move. I have a bookshelf and my desk chair in, but no desk. Also, of the 7 boxes I packed to move, 4 have arrived. There is no phone in the new office. Fun fun.

Life is more peaceful when then can't reach you. One of the great things over here is cell phone service is spotty at best. I can just turn off the phone and be in a "dead zone" while on the road all day. :rotfl2:

...I bet my bloods sugar is over 1000 this evening...Shari brought home some creme horns this evening...NEVER bring that stuff into the home of an diabetic...it is like Crack!!! We can't say nno!!! Get thee behind me Satan!!!...

Just ship them to me. I'll take the hit for you. The nearest decent bakery is 3 counties away.:sad2:

I'm not sure you know the meaning of that word.

Congrats!

Thanks.

$6700 thru resale contract. It's more affordable than you think.

If you add $500 a year for dues for 30 years, then that is $15,000 in annual dues. Plus the original cost is $22,000. That is a lot of money. But, I plan to go on vacation for the next 30 years. Now, I get to spend the week at the Boardwalk for less than a $1000 a year per trip. If you are able to get a pin code every year, then you can probably get the same pricing at a value of moderate resort. But, we get to stay at the Boardwalk. I don't consider DVC an investment and it is not for everyone. I just look at it as pre-paid vacation at an extra special resort location every year.

That is my argument. SWMBO doesn't like that logic (or any :rolleyes1) but coming up with the money isn't going to happen as long as we have a "vacation home" still in OH. Can't complain. I'm headed east tomorrow through Magoffin County where one of the tornadoes hit. Many people there don't have any homes.

Thanks for the info..

I was just telling DW about your purchase and she sounds interested.:idea:

Good Evening...

looks like you guys have been busy today. Time to multi-multi-quote my way back to the present from this morning... here we go!

Funny incident yesterday taking Amelia to school. She started talking about a ghost, and told me that the school had a ghost. This caught my attention naturally (I am quite into this subject, I have well over 100 books on the subject from over the years :scared1:) Still I asked her how she knew this, and she said her friend told her :rolleyes: I shook my head, kids telling stories to see who'll fall for it, right? The conversation went something like this:

Me: Well kiddo, just because she said it was true, doesn't make it so.

Her: But she's my friend, and she saw blood in a toilet

Me: .....

Me: I think I'd have known if it was haunted, I collect these stories. She just wanted to see if you'd believe her

Her: But she is my friend, there is ghosts.

Me: So you will believe her, but not me??

Her: Yeah, you're my dad! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh brother :rolleyes::lmao:

:lmao::rotfl2:

Morning Folks...

Today is my and DW's 13th anniversary....

Happy 13th!!

gratulation.gif

Did you get her a purse?

:lmao::rotfl2:

unsalted is not an option at paula's, although she does allow you to choose between canola or vegetable oil.:rotfl2:

good to know!
