I've spent a lot of time this week working on updating content to my website. It's fun, but I'm sick of it. Thinking I'll take a break from it this weekend and have some fun with the family. Except 3 of the 4 of them have lots of "stuff" on their own agendas. Right about now I'm longing for those carefree days when the kids were little and didn't have their own agendas. I miss those days. We have to schedule everything now. Sigh. Family dinners are still important, but even those aren't 100% attended by everyone anymore, at least 2x per week. And it will only get worse from here. We're just too busy...

I'm coaching 3rd & 4th grade girls and refereeing 5th & 6th grade girls in basketball and those games are intense. It's what you expect in KY basketball. I don't have the players to run the offense I want, but in addition to the fundamentals of dribbling, shooting, and rebounding, i have installed some great defense. We held down the highest scoring team held to half their average points last week.

I've never done any coaching, but I sure have a healthy respect for those that do. It's a lot of time and energy that you put into it. But then, I do put a lot of time and energy into Scouting, which as an adult mentor, is similar to being a coach.

They're saying 2"-4" of the white fluffy stuff here in the capital city this weekend. It'll probably turn out to be a dusting that melts by the time I have to go to work on Monday. Anyone else got a snowy future? Canadians need not reply.

Brent, just curious if I went to your house right now how much snow do you have on the ground:confused3

Right at this moment, there is barely anything out there, just a few small leftover drifts here and there, otherwise it's all dry again. The mess we had last weekend has melted away again. There is a call for some tonight overnight into tomorrow, but hopefully it'll just rain again. We head to Sarnia again this tomorrow, and would rather not have to deal with that on the drive, especially the 402.

Stopher is a mid August trip to WDW say somewhere between the 19th & 26th possible already 3 Dads going to be there:confused3

I don't know yet Ron... could be. I won't say yes or no. Still trying to nail DW done on a July family trip. If that is a yes, than August would be a no. If July is a no, then August is a maybe.

I gotta change the channel on V...when one hasn't had dinner, one shouldn't watch Diners. Drive-Ins and Dives....

Likewise, I have never done scouting, but that is what I try to do - help them use their skills, install a plan, that they all can they implement together as a team. Hopefully, that will translate to to life outside basketball

So I would take it that you are also having a mild winter:confused3

The girls team could probably give the guys a run for their money at this school. The boys program is in a big rebuilding year. Last year they lost by 2 to the eventual state champs in regionals. This year they've won 4 games... None in conference. The girls though have 4 seniors, but the bulk of the offense comes from the sophomore class. The pg is a soph and leads them in just about every category. Shehad a quadruple double during one sectional game last week. The other big contributor is a soph center who is my height (6'2") and she is more than just someone with size. She's really athletic and dominates when she can stay out of foul trouble. They won't be the favorite in the championship game if they win their first game tomorrow, but if they play well they can definitely do it. They beat one of the other 3 teams in this regional by 25 in December.

Fair enough, but next time there will be no escape:lmao:

Still waiting for that miracle windfall to make it 4 Dads....no luck though...:lmao:

Oh yeah, despite the misgivings and pitfalls of august rom the last trip, it still just makes more sense to go then. Amelia still has some school struggles, and after this summer, we will need to find care/camps/etc for two of them now, this is Audrey's last summer at the daycare. :scared1: I need to use my vacation time strickly in the summer now.
