Yes indeed.

On a somber note I visited one of my best friends and fishing buddy today. He just had back surgery, but something else was "off". They found a large tumor growing out of his right lung into his shoulder and pretty sure it's spread to liver and bones. This man (old enough to be my grandfather, but he's one of the guys) has been a rock in our little fishing group for well over a decade. I've spent hours and hours and days and days in a boat with him...

I've seen this movie before, I know what lies ahead and I know there ain't a darn thing I can do about. I do know one thing, that was only the shell of the man I know and love in that chair today...:sad1:

Thanks for letting me vent

sorry to hear that.

Great now I'm reading my old posts to see what the tag fairies may find of interest to them:rotfl:

You never know what will catch their eye. Of the three in my avatar, the Beverly quote was there already… the DDC number they pulled out of my sig, and the last quote came out of a throw away comment I made on a whole other thread.

But … I like it so that’s a win.

Yeah I read that comment on yours the other day and thought it was pretty funny

We are really looking forward to this trip. She has developed so much since then, and has really started talking lately. Which is huge in our world. Seems like the speech started picking up during our last trip back in July.:thumbsup2

I was thinking the same thing about Park Fare.

We have eaten at (almost) every character meal in WDW. What characters does your DD like? Are you using the DDP? You thinking breakfasts or dinners?

We had a hilarious experience at 1900PF breakfast back in 2009 with my DD. Basically Pooh and the Mad Hatter were fighting with each other. These are the 'unadvertised' things that make character meals so fun! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:welcome: Mike...

You'll find we are alot more laid back then the other parts of the DISboards... so no, we won't flame you for visiting Vegas, or US/IoA. We may actually use you as a sounding board for advice when we travel there.

Think Vegas is my home away from home. Rather it be WDW, but you go where you can afford to. Anything you need to know about Vegas, hopefully I can answer.

Here's a conversation stimulator. What sort of adventures has anyone had at the Disney parks in terms of participation or unusual activities. For me it's been,

(1) Contestant on 'So You Want to Be a Millionaire'--Got to 1000 points, won a hat and a pin collection

(2) Received an "Adventurers' Club" Pin from the French maid in recognition of my celebrity. (see 1. above)

(3) Two times the 'guy in the audience' at the Hoop-De-Doo review that the funny lady comes down and does the 'shave and a haircut' song with.

(4) Received a 'Splash Down' award from a CM for being the wettest survivor of the Kali River Raft ride she had seen all morning.

(5) Was the Churros guy at Monster Inc. Laugh Floor

Who has had similar adventures?

Welcome to the unofficial Last to Post thread!

Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome aboard Mike...it is good to see someone join that is not named Chris and is from someplace besides Canada and Pennsylvania :rotfl2: Dont forget to find us on Facebook too and frined a bunch of us. We banter on there as much as we do here!!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the welcome.

Unfortunately I don't do Facebook. This is pretty much the only social network site I come to. And a lot of times, I don't even have time to come on here it seems like. :lmao: I may have to break down one day and have to sign up for FB though.

I know we don't go to disney for another 11 months but what is everyone's favorite character dining? My 3 yr old loved the characters last time so we are looking to do more of these.

Might depend on the characters your child likes the most. But in general, I have my preferences. I *try* to avoid character dinners and stick with breakfast or sometimes lunch.

#1 for us is Ohana, followed by Tusker House. Coming in third place is Crystal Palace. Honorable mention to the 1900 Park Fare breakfast.

with DD, we have to work in the princess meals. I like 1900 park fare the best of the 3 princess themed meals. I think it's a toss up between CRT and Akershus, probably because I feel the quality of the food at CRT has come way down in recent years. But eating with the princesses inside the castle is something that has to be experienced.

We are doing the Cape May cafe character breakfast for the first time on this upcoming trip. We've done Chef Mickey's many times, and though we usually have good experiences there, I just feel you get a little more bang for your buck at some of the other options.

have yet to do Hollywood and Vine. Did Garden Grill once, and that was okay.

Welcome. Dues may be paid in dole whips, beer, cake, or bacon. Get busy shipping.

Thanks for the welcome.

Hate to break it to you, but I don't have constant access to dole whips. Already drank all the beer. I'll see if I can get DW to bake a cake and no way am I sharing my bacon.

I'm voting for the A*Team method, drugging his milk, blindfolding him and telling him once they are already out to sea . worked for B.A.! :lmao:

:rotfl2: Don't think my wife would go for that one or the US Border Agent.

Thanks for the video. That was cool. We may not be able to do that one. She has some sensory issues with loud noises, children crying, etc. So that one may not be good for us. At home we have friends over and laugh loudly it will make her run and hide, possibly cry. She loved pooh, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and esp goofy. We did cape may last time and it worked out great, lots of interaction and stayed pretty quite. Luckily Disney is awesome with special needs children. Even in the parks the characters seemed to spend extra time with my daughter and it meant a ton to us. We came away with a new appreciation for Disney after that trip.

My similar experiences happened to have been aboard their ships.

I won a round of “Who Wants to be a Mousketeer and have an etched glass paperweight to prove it (you can’t but those)

And I got recognized during a round of “Magic Quest” for have the most authentic Tarzan yell they’d ever heard (I got called back up to the stage to reproduce said yell after ward as well)

I haven’t been “That Guy” on the laugh floor yet…
But it’s just a mater of time.

1] Got a YOAMD Lanyard and Pin Set from the Dream Team.
2] Family was selected as the First Family at the American Adventure
3] Our car broke down on Test Track...got a walk thru the Attraction.
4] Participated in the "Match Feces with the Species" lab at Rafikki's in AK...each of us got a nice little pin for it.

BTW... Good Morning, Everyone!!

question of the day: I finally started getting paychecks from my new job, and they are overpaying me. I am getting paid more than I was told I would. Do I:

A. bring it to their attention.
B. shut my mouth and spend the money.
C. put the extra money aside with the expectation of having to give it all back.
