Looks like it's about time to get ready for work. Have to write a 30 minute practice presentation on the history of the company.

Good luck!:thumbsup2

Use a lot of pictures and video clips. Eats up a ton of time... ;)

Bummer. Amendments are good though, more chance of them looking harder at your return if they catch missing items than if you do... :thumbsup2

Lets just hope Dave doesn't read this. He'll go on for 4-5 pages with made-up horror stories of how the IRS is going to come to your house, torture you, and beat on your pets... :sad2:

:sad2:

When I have time to read, I usually pick up a "Dresden Files" book. I usually have the most time on my yearly vacation to Maine... anybody read them?

I've heard of them, I think SyFy did a short series on them. Thanks for the reminder. I'm almost ready for a new series to read.

I really enjoyed the Harry Potter books, especially from three on as it got more mature in scope. I only made it up to the dragon chase scene in the fourth movie because i got ticked off at how they messed with both Dumbledore's character and Harry's solution to the dragon egg challenge. So i haven't scene any of the later movies. When the books ended there were so many 'what now' questions I just decided to write my own version. It's away to keep the story alive for me i guess.

I think there 12 or 13 books... and a few short stories... I also read Abraham Lincoln Vampire hunter... pretty good

Hi Rob. Hi Randall.

Finally found my way here. Busy day at work. Popping in to introduce myself finally.

Name is Mike. Married and no kids yet. Having fun trying to have kids though. :rolleyes1 Wife's name is Heather. She goes by Thumper_Man's Wife here on the Dis. So I have to watch what I say. We've been together 9 years, 4 1/2 of those we've been married. I'm 39 years old and DW is 31. I will hit the big 40 in a couple of months. I've lived all my life in New Mexico. DW and I both work for state government (Attorney General's Office). No I'm not a attorney, so don't ask me for legal advice. Kidding of course, but working here for almost 8 years; you start learn things and feel like an attorney. I work in the financial department., pay the bills so to speak. DW is an assistant to the Attorney General and executive staff. No, this isn't where we met. We are both also members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. That is actually where we met. Both my parents are still alive and well. I have one younger sibling, a sister. Love to travel and love almost everything about the great outdoors (hunting, fishing, camping).

Let me put my flame suit on for these next lines. As I mentioned, love to travel and not only to WDW. I have found other great places besides WDW. Ok let the flaming commence. Seriously enough though, can't always afford to go to WDW every year; so we try to go when feasible. Usually every 4 years or so. The times we can't afford WDW, Vegas is our vacation of choice. DW has a cousin who's a CFO for one of the major hotel/casinos. So we usually get vip treatment when we go. :thumbsup2 This helps make for an affordable get away.

I've been to WDW 3 times (2 of those times with DW and D'Sis). This year in December will be our third trip (my fourth) to WDW. We've yet to stay on-site at WDW. We own a timeshare and usually stay there. One of these days we will stay on-site. Again, when we can afford it. Hopefully the next trip after the one coming up. Paying off some loans this year, so we thought we'd celebrate at WDW. :cool1:

I've been to DL 2 times many, many moons ago. Last time I went to DL, California Adventure wasn't even open yet. That's how long it's been since I've been there. You would think I would go to DL more often since it's closer to me. DW and I will be taking our first trip to DL together as couple this year to celebrate our 5th. wedding anniversary.

When we go to Orlando, we not only go to WDW, but to the dark side as well (US/IoA). Oh and Sea World. I guess the reason we go to Orlando more so than California is because all these theme parks are closer together than they are in California.

I have met many friends here on the Dis. I love sharing what ever information I can. I mostly come on here to get information though. Learn some a new trick or two. Best places to eat, stay, times of year to go, etc.. I consider myself to be a WDW novice still, but am learning more and more with each trip I take.

I've started reading the thread and will eventually catch up. Sorry I made this so long. Just a little excited I could actually become a Disdad without being an actual dad in real life. Even though at times I've felt like a dad. I swear I raised my sister back when she was younger. If you ever want to know more, I'd be happy to answer. Off to catch up so I can join the conversation. And to find the Last to Post Thread. I was sure I was going to win the last one.

:welcome: Mike...

You'll find we are alot more laid back then the other parts of the DISboards... so no, we won't flame you for visiting Vegas, or US/IoA. We may actually use you as a sounding board for advice when we travel there.

Don't worry about not having kids yet. While I don't have any kids yet, DW has two from a previous marriage, but we don't get to see them very often. We're trying for our own though...

The presentation itself is finished already. I just have to write a script to go with it.

I'm sitting here watching Comic Book Men on demand, bringing back memories of when I had my store.

When my DD2 calls and tells me she has news...

Hi Rob. Hi Randall.

Finally found my way here. Busy day at work. Popping in to introduce myself finally.

Welcome to the unofficial Last to Post thread!

That's really cool that you wrote some fan fiction! I will probably check the movies out just to see how they modified the story.

I downloaded the series from Epubbud, and one book was missing a chapter or two, and one included notes that sound like JKR. Also had to deal with some punctuation issues and some transcription errors (like "R"s being converted to "T"s). I never looked, but I assume there were american publications, but most of the books I read appear to be British, and thus "snog" was the word that probably appears in the last two books. :rotfl2:

I forgot to bring my kindle to work, so I'll have to finish up when I get home. Thanks for recommending the Dresden files, as I'll need something to read tomorrow.

I think the Harry Potter hype was more justified than the Twilight hype. I read that series to see what the hype was about too, and in my opinion, Harry, Ron, and Hermione, beat Bella, Edward, and Jacob.
