Church lady!!! Oh I loved those skits on SNL!!! Isnt that Speciall!!!!

Today I had a conversation with my middle son, and he just cracks me up. He comes up with some amazingly funny stuff sometimes. I can't even tell you what he was talking about - because it was just gibberish really - all about a dream he had last night.

I love it when my kids get so animated about whatever it is they're talking about. AND when they make me laugh.

Today I was part of a webinar, learning all about Greece. Sure want to go there. My horizons have certainly been broadened through this TA stuff... so many MORE places on my bucket list now! :rotfl:

DW was getting all upset last night. It took a while to bring her back down to earth. Her siblings have decided to sell my FIL's beach house SOONER rather than later. We all knew it was going to be sold - but for the past several months it's been discussed to start to market it in the fall. Suddenly the CA siblings decided they wanted to start to market it next month... yes - starting in just 2 weeks. She was a mess because that doesn't give her enough time to get out there one last time.

Being the good husband, I quickly went online and found her a very decent fare to send her out there for a week or so. But in her upset state, she just kept saying no and crying about it all.

Today she turned to me and said she might just go. Why is it that it takes so long for her to think & ponder about that kind of thing? Me? I would just book it and go. Frustrating.

Greece sounds nice, but I really want to check out Tibet.

If it's ever safe, that is...

Listening to my DD plunk out a tune on the piano from The Legend of Zelda, by ear, that my DS always plays. She's so proud of herself. (doing a great job too!)

I see Dave (Zerfs) hasn't found us yet. Only up to page 20! :rotfl:

We need our #2 to join in the fun.

When I have time to read, I usually pick up a "Dresden Files" book. I usually have the most time on my yearly vacation to Maine... anybody read them?

5 point for whoever gets my reference

Marathon Man!

Yes, it is Dustin Hoffman - in Marathon Man. (And the "dentist" is a Nazi war criminal).

Marathon Ownage

Marathon Man.

Marathon Man

Oh...stupid sleep. To my credit, though, I recognized the pic right away, despite having never seen the movie. (I believe I was introduced to that scene thanks to Gremlins 2)

I only read the last one. I watched the movies with DW (who had read all the books) up until the final. I like her writing, but enjoyed the movies too.

I've read through the series multiple times (I often tried to refresh my memory by reading through them each time a new book or new movie came out). Pretty sure it's the only book series I've read in its entirety, let alone multiple times. I even picked up the first few books in Japanese (when I lived in Japan) and the first one here in Korea, in an attempt to help me learn the languages (the ones in Japanese didn't work out...too many Chinese characters...the Korean one, though, is a little bit easier for me to read, but I haven't come close to finishing yet). I also enjoy the movies, and appreciate them for what they are. I try not to compare them too much to the books...almost like they are alternate universes. Some things just can't be translated between the two mediums. The books do some things better and the movies do other things better.

Headed to parent teacher conference....pray for me! :rotfl2:

Good luck and may you have mercy on your kids :lmao:

I am sorry that she is having a rough time. As someone who shares your thought about going, I hope you make it through this as well.

Thanks. She's done fairly well over the past few months. Thanksgiving & Christmas were hard, but she's doing pretty well... until this came up.

All of the division of assets stuff - not a big deal. But now it comes down to the last, real, emotional tie to him that she has to him. A few months back she was saying she never wanted to stay there again, since that's where he died. Then it was, perhaps one more time. Now she might not even get that chance. Sigh.

Went with a group when in high school before many of the dad's on here were even thought of. Nice trip, but given the situation over there now I would stay away from the major tourist cities and stick to the islands.

Plus you can probably pick up real estate in Greece for about 5 cents on the dollar.

Let me know if you are thinking about Malta, its becoming a stop on quite a few European cruises now.
