First rule of crowd planning. Avoid EMH. They tend to attract - bigger crowds.

Bigger crowds = longer waits.

In a smaller crowd you can get the same amount done in less time.

We do however do EMH's when we buy hoppers.

We are likely not hopping this trip.

I do like hitting rope drops, by doing the complete opposite of what most people are going to do, I get more done by noon, then they might do all day:confused3:rotfl2:

Looks like we should do a rope drop then:thumbsup2

MK rope drop is one of my favorite parts of our trips. Aside from the show and walk on lines that early, being one of the first down main street is awesome. :thumbsup2

AK had a great rope drop last year, but I'm not sure if they're still doing it.

I got to be honest, I never really paid attention to the rope drop shows, In MK I'm busy riding the vehicles and meeting all the Main Street Characters, then plant myself by Casey's for a quick entrance to AL & FL

I have seen the show at AK since there is really only one main way in, then its off to Killmanjaro Safari

We only got into them the last few years, but I do enjoy them now. Unfortunately I've heard rumors that they are going to be doing away with them for the most part. I believe Epcot stopped having one in October.

A few weeks ago they were trying something out at HS, The gates opened at 8:30, even though park opened at 9

No rope drop but most of the major rides (TOT, RNRRR, TSM, Jedi Training sign ups) were open at 8:30, everything else opened at 8:50

I haven't heard the outcome, but I do like the concept since only so many people can get through the front gate at one time, so the early bird gets the worm in this case:cool1:

Last year where we hit the rope drop they had a car from the Test Track, and picked a family to open the park, then they went off in the car over to the Test Track, and there was a garbage can with bubbles coming out of it:confused3

I believe Test Track is closed for refurb our week.

I'm with you. We get to the parks as early as possible in order to get as much in without lines as we can. Heard about HS trying that, but didn't realize it happened already. Hopefully we can take advantage in October.
