DIS Dads DDC XV - We put the "FUN" in dysfunctional! Christopher's thread...

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.

Sorry Tim. Hopefully you both get some sleep during the day. How does your DD like being a big sister?

Sleep during the day... in this house? :lmao::lmao:

DD loves being a big sister. She is like a little mother to him. Sometimes she plays school with him.. it is hilarious. :rotfl:

‘Morning all…

Finishing up the tax forms this morning. Ribs are on the agenda for dinner. Other then that (and a good bit of radio)… not much happening today. I may work on planning a summer road trip (and secretly compare it to a DIS trip to see which one wins).

What did I learn today:confused3 You don't want to go to Chuckie Cheese on a fri night:rolleyes1

If at all possible… never enter “Charles Fromage” for any reason. If you are forced to do so, and I assume that this will either be at gunpoint or due to spousal demand (which at times is simply the same thing), do not eat any of the substances that the purveyors claim is food. It’s also a good idea to tell the kids as soon as possible: “Oppps… Daddy ran out of money, I guess we have to go now… that’s too bad.”

Morning' guys

On today's agenda...an hour and forty-five minute drive east for my neice's first birthday party. Not looking forward to the drive since its snowing out on a thin layer of ice that fell prior.

Hope the party goes well… hate driving in ice, stay safe.

Oh, and great pics Stopher!

Yah… what he said. :thumbsup2

Why is it so quiet around here? Is it the slowness of the servers, or have we as a group officially run out of things to say?

Good morning guys :thumbsup2

Whats everybody up to today?

Well after a morning of playing on FB and the DIS, the family has Dentist appointments. We were lucky to find a dentist office that offers Saturday appointments until 3:00 PM. Afterwards we are thinking of a movie, possibly "One For The Money".

DW has to work tomorrow. Due to most of the staff not being able to get in during the snow/ice/wind storms, BOEING is behind schedule and is having mandatory OT. Since DW was one of the 3 out of 21 in her work area to work all the days and the fact that we have Dentist appts, her manager said she did not have to go in today.

Great pics Stopher. Glad you are enjoying yourself. You are wetting my appetite for our trip. Can't wait to see it for myself.

Woke up at 8:00 this morning. That is late for me. Sorry to hear about the early risers that had to feed their little ones. Good job guys. Way to take one for the moms.

Nothing much planned today. Maybe take the kid out for dinner tonight. Hope everyone has a fantastic day.

Sorry for being anal, and this might have been a auto-correct mistake, but it it driving me crazy seeing the wrong homonym on posts, both here and on FB. I believe the word you wanted was WHETTING since one uses a whetstone to sharpen or whet a knife. This is not aimed at you CJ, this is more to vent about some of my family members who cannot, or do not try to, spell properly. Thank you for letting me vent.

And I think you should take the Pirate Princess Crash out for dinner.

“You watch your phraseology!” :lmao:

This is a phrase I’ve always just heard and never really paid attention to.
The change in word does happen to make more sense.

Back in 76 I had a teacher who was very much a semanticist. I regress to his lectures from time to time. Part of the reason I do not post as much is that I want to make sure I am saying EXACTLY what I mean. Though sometimes it still gets snafu-ed.

I actually know that. Chalk it up to a typo. Funny how one letter totally changes the meaning of a statement. So, no, I am not peeing my pants to go to Hawaii. I may however be peeing my pants (or wet suit) when I swim with sharks next week.

Dinner with the Pirate Princess is totally up to her. She has a ton of stuff to do around the house. If she does then we will more than likely go out.

Ahhhhh… go on ahead and post more.

We’ve all raised (and in some cases: “razed”) kids and we’re use to deriving the intended meaning (or the obfuscated one) form their incomprehensible mutterings.

We’ll figure it out. :lmao:

It's a combination of the slowness of the servers and our general level of distractibility. I click a link here on the Dis, and by the time the page loads -

SQUIRREL!

We're off doing something else.

Today is a good day.
Wife and kids let me sleep in.
Woke up to yummy, freshly made, Ethiopia Harrar coffee.
Posted about the convention here, at disdads.com, and on Facebook.
Now, relaxing and watching Jayhawks basketball (sloppy first half, but convinced they'll get it together by the end).
Tonight - date night. Going out with good friends for KC Restaurant Week Meat-On-A-Stick at Fogo de Chao. (I've skipped breakfast and lunch, saving my stomach for all you can eat Brazilian steakhouse food) :D

Slow today. I could not even get Disboards to load on my phone.

Long days. The good thing is that all the activities are done in one day. Well, until tomorrow's list of events. Safe travels and sleep.

I need to go get TurboTax. I have all my deductions on spread sheets ready and am waiting on DW's W2.

We ran out of quality things to say 14 threads ago.

My nicknames seem to come naturally. It started with Pooh (reason see above and she was a chunky baby); Princess because she is my Princess; the Pirate Princess because I needed to toughener her up for school when she wore the patch and of course Crash (if you read my recounts of her TWO driving mishaps than you know the story behind that one). Others have come and gone over the years and I imagine more will appear in the future. Let me know if you need any help with nicknames Norm.

Yeah, but Crash still stands above them all.

Good morning guys :thumbsup2

Whats everybody up to today?

Dropped off my youngest for her retreat for 1st Reconciliation, took the older one out to spend her birthday gift cards and eat lunch. Have a basketball game later today.

I'm a fan of warming up my stomach to prepare for large meals. OK, I really just like to eat. I have a Cruise Question and will PM you.
