Nemesis? I'm trying to refrain from kickin your Beverly right now but I'm on probation, so .... Sorry, Kurt Busch interview flashback.

First impressions of D-cot.

I like that I can choose a track and get it right from the beginning as opposed to joining in the middle with dtuneslive. It's also neat to see what the other dads are listening to. But why do random people want to be my "pal"? Especially random girls? I got married so I wouldn't have to be pals with random girls.

But I can't find how to play The Haunted Mansion from start to finish. If I can't hear the opening bells from HM, that's a deal-breaker.

i still don't have any girl friend requests. High school all over again.

Chatty day. Happy Birthday Randall.

See what happens when you guys leave me in the clubhouse unsupervised? I have to entertain myself. :goodvibes

Good thing it wasn't too long.

I have been listening all day. I have the MK entrance loop going right now :thumbsup2

Excellent. I can't stream at office, so it's dtuneslive app.

Well... I came into the office today and it appears as though my cube was moved to its new spot. It wasn't even moved 2 feet! :headache: I'm in the process of moving everything back into my cube today. Yay

At least you get to justify another day of no work accomplishments.

Well, today is my ADR day. I've been trying online since 6 am too book them. I have my resort confirmations and reservations tied into my online account, but when I try to book an ADR for one of the "+10" days, here is the message I get...

Part of our DVC problem. We can't make them other than first day and had to call for rest.

Coached the first tball game of the year on Saturday morning. In the 2nd inning several of the kids were complaining to me that they never get any balls hit to them. 2 batters later they're both digging holes in the dirt and a ball rolls right between them. :headache:
!

Coaching that age = herding cattle. Nope, cattle is easier.

At one point during the season I asked the kids if a pirate had buried treasure somewhere under the infield, what with all the digging they were doing.

At least they were digging in the dirt and not somewhere else.

Unexpected Disney surprises this weekend. First my cousin calls me and says she wants to take me up on my offer to run a Disney race with her. I never thought she'd go for it, but we're seriously thinking of meeting up for a few days and running the half marathon in January. She's really cool and I don't know if I'll get another chance to be at WDW with her. And no kids! Just me and one of my favorite cousins running around the parks for a few days!

Then yesterday DW says we should go to Florida to visit my parents during Christmas break. I was totally in for that, then as a kicker she says we should probably do a park for a day and check out the new fantasyland. Didn't see that coming. We don't get down there often enough (yet:rolleyes1) for an Annual Pass. So I'm considering a 10-day non-exp pass. I wish I had thought of this a week ago to avoid the price increase, but oh well. Not sure how to go about doing the math to see if I should get the 10-day pass, but I know a one-day pass for my family isn't very efficient.

By the way, any runners out there know how to get the Disney Visa discount for Run Disney events? Barry? I thought you posted about that a long time ago?

Excellent news. More trips is always better.

we need more hours in the day, and more days in the weekend! whichever presidential candidate adopts this plan, gets my vote!
.

2 day work week, same hours, same pay - gets my vote.

Sorry, Norm, for the family issues. We're heading up to Vermont for a long weekend with family in a couple of weeks, and I'm already dreading some of the dysfunction. Ugh.
:

Thanks. Sorry to hear about your upcoming trip. Hope you make it thru.

Church league... we no longer have one of those.:sad2: They ended it after last year because it was just getting too ugly. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Tim Wilson's Church League Softball Fistfight

I kneed a guy in the head a couple of years ago... I'd say I wasn't proud of it, but I kind of am. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

It was a team that was notorious for playing dirty, talking trash, arguing with the umps... and this was the semifinals in the tournament. The ump actually had to call the police to remove their manager after the game that day and they were banned from playing at the parks department in the future.

And yes, we got the double play.

I understand playing hard but not playing to injure. Just stupid. Glad you got double play.

On a side note, I won my bass tournament Saturday....

Congrats on the tournament. Do you have a new picture that Barry can Photoshop?

Catching up Monday ownage.

Norm, sorry about the deadbeat BIL and less than ideal family situation. I'm very fortunate to get along well with both my family and the in laws. Well most of them anyway.
?

Thanks. I let things go and he just keeps finding new ways to be a piece of Beverly.

Ug. Luckily, I don't have to deal with any of this on my side of the family. Evan after my mom and grandma passed away a year and a half ago (leaving only my siblings and our children/grandchildren) we all still get together as a family several times a year.
DW's family, however.....her immediate family is OK, but you go up to the next level on both her mom or dad's side and the crazies just start coming out of the woodwork.
!

Thanks. One of her cousins is married to a good guy, but I rarely get to see them. Still, when we do, it is more enjoyable.

It went well. We got killed, but it took a couple of innings before anyof us could catch a grounder :confused3
:

Those grounders are difficult.

Morning guys. Rainy start to the week here. Had a golf tournament I was suppose to play in today get canceled due to inclement weather. Ah well, can't win em all...

Hope everyone has a great Monday. :thumbsup2

Cancelled. How terrible. You off today or the week?

Morning everyone...

Was going to take the much needed mental-health day today, but the schedual in my head is hazy, not sure if I am opening now, so gotta go in.:headache: Oh well... :rotfl2::rotfl2:

IF mental health was required for days off, I probably shouldn't be working.

I had to share this relatively common reaction story by my office. When I told my partners my vacation plans, they all asked me how I could spend 8 days in Disney. I told them I could spend a month there and it would still not be enough.

Only a month?

:thumbsup2 Whenever I tell someone at work we are going to WDW, they say again, don't you ever go anywhere else:lmao:, I got them double this year with 2 trips:rotfl2:

They usually just ask me when we are going back.

Sorry to hear you have to deal with that nonsense. remember to count to 10... alot!

i think there are blackout dates on the resident passes though. .

Thanks. There are blackout dates on Florida passes? Why did I need that news?

The insects are attacking, 1st Norm gets stung by a bee, this morning I discovered I got bit by a spider on the bicep, have no idea when it happened probably last night working in the yard, now I think it's time to spray the yard like 5 times, no insect will live though it:lmao::thumbsup2

Yup, animal conspiracy.

Hi, guys! Just stopping by after crazy busy week (where I had to fly to Chicago and then cover a 24-hour shift for my boss who forgot a trade...). Promise to catch up later. (Welcome to the new guys, hope everyone is doing okay, etc)

Semi-serious question for the group. Looking for the opinion of a thoughtful group of men (and yes, I came here!). I have an acquaintance here in town with three kids about my kids ages. Our kids play sports together and I see him about 2 times per week at games. However, I've never been to his house, he's never been to mine, and although we're friendly, we're not friends per se. However, he's well respected in the community, active in our church, and has a successful local family business here in town. He's also going through a bitter divorce with a wife who's battling (unsuccessfully) against alcoholism. My overall opinion of him is that he's a generally good guy.

He calls me this afternoon to borrow some money. He needs $100 to get through until Wednesday, and he'll give me a check that I can cash then. His parents are out of town, and so he can't ask them, and seemed very apologetic about it.

What would you do? I'll tell you what I did after hearing the responses.

That is a difficult one. I rarely loan people money, but if I do, inside my own head, I consider it a gift. I don't tell them that, but that way, if they don't pay me back, then i don't have to hate them for being a mooch. With that said, I don't have $100 to loan someone. I would have to talk with DW for that amount of money. If it was $20, then under those circumstances, I may have. And, I would tell them to cash their own check and just return the cash.

I am listening to the Land Ride over on D-Cot. I really enjoy that ride. But, it just makes me want to go to WDW even more.

On the homefront, youngest dd had her hair cut really short. And, I hate the haircut. She had such great hair and while not extremely long, it was past her shoulders. Now, it is below her ears. I do not know what her mother was thinking. But, I can't tell my almost 8 year old I hate her hair.

I give to those that are in need, or ask, what I can (which isn't much anymore). I figure God can sort it out. When I was doing training with the R&D group that I went oversees with we got dropped off on a Friday in downtown Phoenix with no money in our pocket and they said they would see us Monday morning. Gives you a different perspective.

No you can't and I understand your pain. My DD was in kindergarten when she decided to giver herself her first haircut.:sad2: Just know it will grow back.

If you attend the same church, I'd refer him there. Most churches have a mercy fund or deacons' fund to help out in a pinch. I also believe there are spiritual benefits to receiving mercy as opposed to a loan. Just my $.02.

Beverly of a day. Up even before David I think, at least I posted before him.

Nothing went right at work and didn't accomplish diddly. Then I managed to lock myself out of the house tonight when I decided to run down to the office to check a couple of emails to try to be productive to make up for the day. Remembered in that ohno second right after the door shut. 99.99% of the time the keys are in my pocket but not tonight so I had to bust a screen and crawl in through a window. No loss on the screen because it had duct tape holding it together (the university loves their tenants) but moving my little 2 drawer file cabinet under the window so I could crawl in I managed to put a 2 inch scratch in the car with the corner of the cabinet. :sad2::mad: The car is 10 years old and not worth stressing over but we still have 3 years to pay on the other one and I need this one to last at least that long.

I don't think I will tell SWMBO when I talk with her. What she doesn't know won't hurt me. :rolleyes1

Part of me is leery when people ask for money. But, I always try to think outside of myself in those situations. If it was me I would give him the money. It may sound naive, but I think those situations will be recounted one day when we face our God.

For the record I was up at 4:30 but was moving slowly and would have been late getting to the gym if I had posted. I don't sleep much.

Sorry for the rough day.

Getting in shape for the cruise? I need to start that as well. Need to create lots of pant room for eating.
