This is crazy - where is everyone?

Dave? Chris? Barry? Norm? Scott??

I/m back. I had to stop to get our new sectional. DW did some shopping on New Year's Eve. That was the day before the budget talk. Hmmmmm. It wasn;t a solo decision, but she wanted it, so she gets it. That way, I can get more DIsney vacations and play sets.

hmm 217 pages... we've got a day or to till the race to the end.

Just no bad pictures.

I always wanted a sectional. I love that middle crease between the two straight sections. It will suck the awake right of you :thumbsup2

I have a transportation question as well....

On our arrival day for our Spring trip, my wife and I are having dinner at Il Mulino in the Swan. We're staying at BLT.

Our plan is to try to get to DTD for the afternoon and catch a bus to the Swan from there for dinner.

Am I right to assume that I would have to catch a bus from the Swan to either a park or DTD in order to catch another bus to BLT??

And....if we don't get to DTD that afternoon, We would have to catch a bus to DTD or a park before catching another bus to the Swan?

There is no transportation from DTD to a theme park. Otherwise, folks may try free parking for days at the theme park.

If you are at DTD and want to get to Swan/Dolphin, there is a bus from DTD to the Swan/Dolphin, but the bus sometimes includes stops at Boardwalk and Beachclub as well. I can't remember the order of the stops. From DHS, i think Swan/Dolphin was the first stop. From DTD, Swan/Dolphin may be the last stop. Also, the Beach and Yacht Club have two stops. You may also get off the bus at the Boardwalk and walk to Swan/ Dolphin, but it is at least 15 minutes.

If you are at DTD and want to get to BLT, then take the bus to the Contemporary and walk to BLT.

If you are at another resort and want to get to BLT, then take the bus to MK and walk to BLT. It is a 5 minute walk.

If you are at BLT and want to go to another resort (other than Poly or GF), walk to MK and take the bus.

BLT does not have a bus to Epcot or MK.

We love BLT for the ease of transportation and would like to buy enough DVC points for 2 vacations there a year, but won't be able to do that for awhile.

I'm not sure how strict Il Mulino is on the dress code.

It also has two recliners (one at each end). It is a smaller sectional (only five seats) that came in two pieces. It has those big pillow top arms which is also a sleeper. It is the catnapper brand. We got it at the clearance part of the nice furniture store for $950. The last sofa we bought there, we moved upstairs and replaced the junk sofa upstairs.

You could walk to Epcot and take the monorail back to BLT. Would be better than having to transfer at DTD/Park on the way home. Of course, I'm also assuming you have a park hopper.

As far as arrival, I think your stuck taking the bus. Unless I'm wrong and there is another option...

Excellent deal!! I remember looking t one when we first got mrried and it was like $1200 :scared1:

That's the other fun part - we don't start the use of our park tickets until the next day! Unless I decide to break down and add the $10 for the extra day to our tickets.

So I would have to take a bus from the Swan to DTD and then to BLT. Or take a bus from the Swan to EPCOT and then hop the monorail back to the resort monorail?

That is a long walk through the International Gateway thru Epcot to monorail. Then, you'd have to get off Epcot monorail at TC and get back to CR. But if you wanted to avoid the bus, that is the only way to do it.

You wouldn't have to take the resort monorail... I've heard the walk from MK to BLT is pretty close so you could take the express and just get off at MK. If there were any weather issues or fatigure, then yeah, you could switch to the resort one to get off at Contemporary.

Wow... Work sucks today. I was able to get an update posted for my TR, but other than that, I haven't had much time to catch up around here. Stupid work. :headache:

I know what you mean. Our new kitchen has been declared "finished" by DW It still needs a bunch of trim, crown molding, etc, but it certainly usable now that I got the counter top put in - so I have been reassigned to making the old kitchen into DD's new bedroom. Plumbing has all been pulled out, I have the closet framed in and yesterday framed up the wall and installed the door. Off the store tonight to get the drywall to start hanging.

I'd love a vacation, but still have too much to do before DS come screaming into the world this spring. I used to use home as a break from all the stuff going on at work, but those roles have flip flopped recently...:sad2:

I find that removing stuff is easier than putting new stuff in! :lmao::lmao: You certainly are doing a LOT of work there! :thumbsup2 Oh... I forgot to mention this morning... Since I started the drywall, I have somehow damaged my right thumb. :confused3 It's both numb and sore at the same time! Tip is numb, joint is excruciating. I think I damaged a nerve just by using the drywall knife!!

Completely agree about the work thing. Break time! :lmao::lmao:

:wave2:

Classic Movie...

Ohh... and a multi quote = -1 :(

:lmao::lmao: multi quote -1 ! bwaahahaha

anyone know how long it takes to get to AK from the closest value resort to it on the bus? I'm trying to make a case for a father son trip for EE weekend, but will need to do it as affordably as possible.

All Star resorts are right next to AK. Not sure how long it takes to get there, but should be less than 15 minutes once it's on the way to the park.

Work has a way of interfering with DisTime. Stupid work.

Yikes. That's why I don't work on too many things. Maybe you can scan your thumb to Chris or Steve for a DX and some meds. Not quite sure the docs are quite ready for that.

I saw a chart on the DIS once with all the estimated bus/car times. I can't find it now but check out this website. You can punch in your starting/ending point and get an estimate time.

That's really neat. Thanks. It's interesting that the bus rides from all the All star resorts are longer than the bus rides from Pop

Here's a great overall map from Robo that really shows how close the All Star Resorts are to AK:

Thanks there are lots of neat maps on that site.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. With it being a father son trip, I was having a hard time justifying paying for AK Lodge when the all star resorts are so close.

There's also the issue of if it's a direct route or stops at the other All Star resorts to pick up others. That depends on time of year, time of day, etc. I like the Disney transportation most of the time, except when your sitting on the bus and it stops at second DTD stop, one water park (no one gets on or off), the other resort stop, and then your stop.

We've thought about doing BLT or BWV (or BCV) and doing a no bus transport. Only go to TP or dining with walking, monorail, or boat transportation.
