DIS Dads DDC XIII - Zerphonics spoken here!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.

Sounds like a good setup.

The sleepover has started here too. Our neighbors have kids about the same age as ours. We are trying to alternate with them periodically so that each set of parents gets an overnight date night. The boys are playing Haunted Mansion in Disneyland kinect and I have no idea what the girls are doing.

Its really cool hearing the voiceover for some of the rides.

I'm not sure the DIS has caught up with how cool we are for page ownage.

Sounds suspiciously like me trying to convince my son that kids in elementary school just haven't caught up with how cool being good at math is.

DW had a great idea for a reward system for us losing weight. If we keep up good progress towards meeting our goals weights (myself, DW, and DS), we will go to Disneyland this summer! That is a great motivator to me!

The kicker - we will be driving! I have always wanted to see the Grand Canyon and do a long family vacation road trip. We decided the kids are old enough now and we have plenty to keep them busy on the the drive (between DVD players, iPods, InnoPads, books, etc.) We will leave on a either late Friday night or very early Saturday morning; spend two days to drive there; spend Mon - Fri between Disneyland, DCA, Legoland, and San Diego Zoo; then drive back on the weekend. Well, that is the initial plan. I will need to start more extensive research on routes/plans. Suggestions welcome. :)

That sounds great. I would love to drive across country to Disneyland and
the Grand Canyon. Good luck in meeting your goals as well.

To be #1, do you have to be full of #2?

Have an adult beverage or two for me. I just finished (hopefully) my last presentation for next week. I either forgot, or never knew I was responsible for vegetable herbicide updates :scared1:, and just try getting in touch with industry reps between Christmas and New Years. :headache::headache:

Thankfully there really aren't many options compared to grain farming so my biggest news is Roundup Ready sweet corn in on the market and a reminder that cultivation is still a great method of weed control with no replant restrictions.

I am going to go have some sausage and fried potatoes,

, and write a few letters before turning in.

it has been a long year and all I can say to 2011 is good riddance

Just popping in to vent: All right my lazy in-laws, after I bought the food & my DW cooked this fabulous dinner, get up off your butts & help clean up!!!

Ok, back to the banter...

And Steve & David, not a chance!

Im on the train now with a gaggle (is that the right term?) of giggling teenage girls....

The conversation is going somewhat like this..

Blah blah BLAH BLAH *laugh* *LAUGH* SSSHHHHH!!!

Not sure which is worse, the giggly banter or the shushing.

Currently leaning toward the shushing.

Sounds like my parents.. had 12 people for dinner on Christmas Eve and my wife and I are doing all the dishes. We are washing the last few items and my mom says 'Do you guys need any help?' Classic line from her. She always does this when we are close to being done. So I had to run downstairs for a minute so I say 'Sure, we could use some help finishing up.' I go downstairs- come back up about 3 minutes later and my mom is back on the couch and my DW is still washing by herself. :headache::headache: :headache::headache:

Isn't that the conversation of all women? I say that safely as this page will be gone before DW can read it.

Ah, the fake help offer. My mom made the fake offer once, so I picked up the trash bag, tied it, and handed it to her to take outside to the toter. Problem solved? Well, she never offers to fake help anymore.

1st time on the new computer:cool1: mainly because my wife was hogging it:lmao:

Have to take a few classes to get use to it, but it's good to be back:goodvibes

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I feel your pain.

Welcome back Ron...

Chris, I hear ya about the in-laws.

Just had my wifes 2 sisters over.

We finish eating, and everyone's just chit chatting, blah blah blah... Kinda like Norm's night, but they are older. :)

I had to say - "Can we clean this mess up please".

I pitched in obviously, but if I said nothing, they'd still be sitting yapping while the mold grows. And if I started myself, no one would have gotten up to help. Grrrr....

Working on planning a trip in 2015 that includes Disneyland, Disney cruise, and Hawaii (of course Disney)

From my understanding you can book at 500 days out:confused3, so even though it seems far away, I have a year and half to work out the details:rolleyes1

There should be at least 4 or 5 WDW trips before then:cool1:

Another great trip idea. Drive west to see the Cowboys play, stop at Grand Canyon, go to Disneyland, and go to Aulani. I think I want a plane ride home, so maybe a RV rental across country.
