Totally bored right now. Just counting down the time until we leave tomorrow. Almost thought about driving up there now but that would mean "Crash" (her new nickname and she does not like it) would have to drive up with her friend tomorrow. (Insert multiple scary smiley things here).

I could pack but don't really want to. Maybe charge the batteries for the camera and get the electronics (minus computer) ready. Dinner tonight is take out so am not cooking anything. Saving listening to podcasts for the trip up. I am open to any suggestions on how to kill time before the trip.

Just found on the DVC Board that they announced the Grand Floridian DVC resort. Scheduled to open in 2013. DD is going to love that news.

Anyone every given a Disney trip as a Christmas present for their kids? If so, how did you "surprise" them with it? DD is almost 4, talks about going back all the time, and has no idea we're going to take her in less than a month; We are going to surprise her with a Christmas gift letting her know, so I'm looking for some cool/inventive ideas... Anyone?

We're going through the same type of thing. We want to surprise our girls (4 and 2) with our trip in April.

We don't know when or how we want to do it. My DW and I talked about possibly just waiting until we're off the plane and getting on Magical Express and tell them we're spending a week there.

But part of me wants to tell them before hand so that we have time to prepare them for what they will experience as they've only spent day trips to MK with a short stop at EP one year.

My girls also talk about going back to Disney world all the time. And because we've taken day trips there each year over our Spring Break vacation - I think it's almost assumed (atleast by my oldest) that we'd be going back.

So .....I feel your pain as to what the correct thing/way to do it is!

We did it with a variation on a scavenger hunt where we had our son start with one picture clue that led him to the next and so on until he got to one that gave up the secret.

Rather then taking up space here, you can see the details of it (if you’re interested) in “Chapter-1 / Part-3: Surprise, Surprise, Surprise…” at the top of page 3 in my current TR.

Glad all is well. I think Roto Rooter was hilarious, but I think it was first associated with colonoscopy. I think it works really well in this case.

I know. I had a doc appointment this morning and they could not get any blood out of my arm. I feel like a dart board in a room full of drunks..

I give them 3 strikes and out. If they miss it on the 3rd, I'm done.

Do any of you guys have trip reports or photos from Vero Beach and/or Hilton Head? I think I have the DW leaning towards a much more serious look at DVC, but part of the deal for her is the other options. She would want to incorporate off years at other DVC locations.

I've got many more if you want. We loved Vero. If we don't move to Orlando, I'd consider moving to Vero.

This is a great idea, thanks Rob. I remember your trip report, and now that you've reminded me, I remember thinking how cool it was that you did that. DD loves hunting things and looking for hidden things, so this could work really well!

Goofy and Donald show up from WDW in their swimsuits for breakfast on Saturday.

There's a miniture golf course on property. It was a few bucks for all of us. Cheap.

Proof that I have ran once in my life. Or, it's Godzilla attacks Vero. Either way, good story lines.

What I did not manage to photograph was behind the main area of the hotel, before the beach break, there is a line to protect from flood surges I guess. In between is a green lawn where you can enjoy or check out games for free to play. We did croquet.
