I've clinched playoffs in two fantasy leagues and am 2nd in our Pick em league. But, I have RB issues in all leagues.

Tonight's Law & Order SVU is teaching about the gypsy culture by recycling a character that was an Italian crime family mob boss.

It looks like the SVU plot twist has turned to include the Murdock news cell phone hacking scandel.

Really like the Checy and Santa commercials.

Santa: Why you get a truck.
Man: for hunting
Santa: What do you hunt?
Man: Deer
(Man looks at Santa)
Man: Fish

DW wants me to put the computer down and hold her. SWMBO commands. Good night all.

On the subject of infants and respiratory failure....been through that myself.

As a matter of fact, we almost lost my son as an infant due to this. He had been crying a lot and very fussy, but wasn't spitting up or anyting. The pediatrician we saw (at the time) told us he had Acid Reflux and that we needed to have X rays to determine if he had a "soft tissue obstruction". So we had X rays--nothing of the sort. So then she says, yup, definitely reflux.

Little guy continued to cry all day, no sleeping, wouldn't eat, then got very lethargic. I was packing to leave for a training course when I noticed him turning blue and struggling. I grabbed him up and couldn't tell if he was breathing or not, so I started doing infant CPR and told my wife to call 911. I got him slowly "coming around" about the time the first Fire/Rescue truck arrived. Fire department EMT's recognized my address and didn't even slow down at the front door, nor fool with a stretcher.

They grabbed him, put him on Oxygen and whisked him out the door and took off for the helo take off point....Air asset was already enroute.

G man was airlifted to Wolfson's Children Hospital in Jacksonville where he spent the next three weeks in neonatal.

Lots of sleepless nights---and I was supposed to start a new job the next day---that didn't happen.

We eventually found out he had a sever respiratory infection, but we have had no real problems since, though we put him on Xopenex (sp?) at the first sign of trouble for a couple of years.

Now, he's just a normal rambunctious three (almost four) year old and shows no signs of asthma or anything...

We got a new pediatrician post haste....

Wow Fed. That could almost be our story (other than the air-flight and three weeks in the hospital). In our case my wife kept telling our pediatrician - the one we had been seeing for six year with the first two kids - that "something is NOT right" and he kept telling her that DS just had a minor cold and that she was overreacting. Even after he stopped breathing and we made the dash to the ER with him the pediatrician wanted to downplay the whole thing. I distinctly remember sitting in the ER listening to the ER doc telling our pediatrician "You can say what you want but I'm the one looking at this kid's stats and he is SICK." For the first six days in the neo-natal ICU they had to leave him on constant oxygen because everytime they tried to take him off the alarms would immediately start ringing (low pulsox?).

Oddly, we still go to this pediatrician but he has apologized several times and whenever DW calls with a question or complaint he takes her VERY seriously.:thumbsup2

2 weeks?! You've gotta be gettin' excited Ben! :thumbsup2

Very excited, although I've got way too much to accomplish in the next two weeks. I'm a college professor and the next two weeks are BUSY. This semester all three of my classes have finals on Monday. I hope to grade during the later exams and all day on Tuesday and be ready to hit the road on Wednesday. Our flight isn't until LATE on Wednesday so I could even squeeze in a little more work that day if I had to :scared1:

Yikes! At least you know you have something to look forward to after all the craziness!

What classes do you teach?

Stupid Story Ownage

Very excited, although I've got way too much to accomplish in the next two weeks.

One of the things I have to accomplish is fighting with Disney Store online. We are taking my parents with us on this trip. They have moved to Florida more or less full time now and will be getting Florida Annual Passes (:cool1:) so for fun we decided to get them matching Mickey Mouse Ear Hats with "Grandma" and "Grandpa" embroidered on them (I may have mentioned this in an earlier post). When the box showed up they said "Grandma" and "Lara" so we asked them to fix the problem. Well, the replacement box showed up ... this time "Grandpa" was spelled wrong!!! They aren't being very helpful when we ask them to fix it AGAIN. After a long phone call today my wife as in this mood :thumbsup2 <- not a thumb and that is NOT my sweet DW.

Since it is their fault how can they give you grief to fix their mistake??:confused3

I teach computer science. These days mostly programming both for majors and non-majors, plus the occasional Artificial Intelligence or Interface Design course. Trying to put the finishing touches on an NSF grant application based on some cool research a colleague and I have been doing on using smartphones as input devices for classroom activities. It's a great gig. It wears me out by the end of each school year but I can't imagine being any happier doing something else (other than maybe running the Dole Whip machine at my current salary :thumbsup2)

They seem to be willing to fix this but on THEIR timeline and schedule. We keep pointing out we ordered these a week before Halloween and they still don't have it right. DW points out that we NEED these for the trip in two weeks and today she was told they can't guarantee we will have them by then. :confused3 I'm about ready to ask for my money back and we can just buy one in the parks although that ruins the whole idea of having these on mom and dad's bed when they get to POP on the first day.

Sweet. Sometimes I wish I would've got my degree in computer science instead of marketing. I know nothing of programming and wish I did.
