Don't want to bring the mood of this thread down....

I just found out my dad has prostate cancer.

Your prayers would be much appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Hoping for the best!

im behind on todays post also. between work and cyber shopping and i just popped in here and there.
got most of my shopping done today on line. this was the first year ive done most on line. multiquoting, iphone and now cyber shopping. next thing you know ill be faxing. :lmao:
my sister called tonight. my two aunts (moms sisters) are not doing to well. my one aunt is 94 and they are taking her home with hospic care from the nursing home. they want her home with the family. my other aunt is 85, she has stopped eating and she has stated last year she was tired and misses my mom and my uncle. my mom was her sister and best friend. my moms been gone 30 years and my uncle 28 years. when i was a kid, on sunday after church, we always went over to there house.
the first time tammy went over to her house was a christmas night. my mom was italian and at the time, most of her siblings were still alive. i warned tammy, it gets loud and make sure you eat something or she will unload the fridge till you do. :lmao: when we left, tammy asked, why do they yell at each other? :lmao: i told her there not "yelling" at each other, thats the way they talk. :lmao: anyway, i got to hit the hay, 3:45 comes early. have a good night!!! :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about your aunts.

Ok guys how many of you have let your wife go to Disney without you???? This is the second time in two years that my wife is getting to go while I am still home she leaves sat for a week with her sisters family and mother.

If it wasn't for me, my wife probably still wouldn't have gone for her first time... so she can't!! lol

Evening dads, been one long day at work, as we gear to Christmas, tomorrow'll be fun, both District AND Regional Directors will be visiting and inspecting. I wonder what kind of trouble I can stir up :rolleyes1. The Science Center was a hit, girls had a blast with it, and I quite annoyed DW by yelling "SCIENCE!!" like that old guy in the old "Blinded Me With Science" song/video by Thomas Dolby.

:rotfl2: :lmao: That sounds like something I would do.

Splash is down. Boat stopped on lift hill and people walking down from it. Got yelled at by a cm for trying to take a pic.

tikki, know what you Mean. Guess that's why I'm using you guys as ride buddies tonight.

Oh in that case, can we stop by Aloha Isle before doubling back to the Mansion?:lmao:

Why would they care if you took a pic??

Don't know but now the bridge is blocked and you can't even get back there. Wonder if somebody got hurt or something. Splash was the last ride on my list so I think I'll call out a night. Still never got to meet up with Dave.

Aloha is closed. Sorry.

'Twas there ever a more depressing sight?

Surprised it's closed, thought it was always open to the end. Last EMH I attended it was one of the few "food" places open.

Nothing was open. I craved ice cream but the only place open was main street. That's the longest line I saw all night.

Good morning!!! Sitting in my van waiting for my 4:30 to show up. Thanks for the prayers.

Hi -

I'm Dave and I'm still alive. Last several months have been crazy with a bunch of drama and issues at work. Those should be resolved here shortly, which will give me PLENTY of time to chill on the boards.........while searching for a new job.

Hope all is well.

Cheers,
Indy
Welcome back dave. I hope everything goes well with the job.

I have. Turn about's fair play you know. I can't even recall how many solo trips I've made...

Morning Dads!

Haven't been able to check in lately, we finally turned on the proxy servers at work so I'm extremely locked down and nights and weekends have been pretty busy. Hoping to get my phone set up today so I can at least follow along.

Hope everyone's holiday plans are coming together and everyone gets their lights up without incident.

Looking for some input.
I'm trying to plan a possible trip in December of next year, most likely early-mid, for about three weeks.* 4-5 days of which will be spent in Wisconsin, visiting family. (That's about all the Wisconsin winter weather my DW is willing to take :lmao: )
Where are some good places to visit around that time, that are relatively warm, and relatively cheap? (Flying round-trip from Korea isn't exactly light on the wallet)
What I'm looking at right now is possibly doing a massive road trip, perhaps to Vegas and/or WDW (very wallet-friendly, I know :rotfl: )
What would be some good things to do in WDW around that time?* What would the damage be, money-wise?
Also, if all goes to plan, we will hopefully have a little one with us (no more than 3 months old)...so take that into consideration.

WDW has all kinds of things for the holiday season during that time.

- If you are there the first weekend (usually), you can see the Disney X-Mas parade taping, a star studded event, that is rebroadcast on ABC X-mas day
- MVMCP (MK)
- Holidays around the World (Epcot)
- Candlelight Processional (Epcot)
- Osborne Family Lights (DHS)

And the best thing about it is the crowds are generally realllllly low that early in December.

Have an awesome time.

Come to think of it - wasn't that the time of year there was talk of a DISDad's Disney Meet?

Morning Dads,
Had a late night last night (well, late with the kids - not as late as they were when DW and I did not have kids, but a respectable 10 pm or so). DD is sick - coughing and kind of feverish. WDW is not as much fun when sick. :(

Not much on tap for today though, so she can rest. Late breakfast with Lilo & Stitch, then wander around resorts to look at Christmas decorations, and then the Christmas party in the MK tonight. It's DW's b-day, so it's her day.

Well, La Crosse has the World's Largest Six Pack. And the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in Hayward has that huge Muskie you can walk through. Or the Circus Museum in Baraboo. Of course you have to go to Lambeau Field. Probably twice. And Milwaukee's Fonzie Statue (The "Bronze Fonze":thumbsup2) ...

....oh, you meant besides just in Wisconsin? Why would you want to go anywhere else?

Your realize that Wisconsin to Vegas is 1800 miles right? I don't know how long you've been over there and gotten used to being able to cross the country in a few hours, but the US is still just a little bit bigger. ;)

I would think that if you're heading to Vegas anyway, a stop at the Grand Canyon would be in order. I would probably then head east through the southern states on my way to WDW. I havn't done much down that way, so you'll have to get advice from the Southerns on the board.

Thanks for all the support guys, I appreciate it.

His biopsy was positive on 4 of 12 samples. All of which are near each other. Which is good.

If you say it's good news, then it's good news! Praying for your dad.

I'm sure you already know this, but it pays to keep the wife happy. :thumbsup2

Sounds like plans are underway for a Massive Katoot 50-State Road Trip! :thumbsup2
