It sounds like Eric, CJ, Stopher, and I will all be in WDW at the same time later this week. What do you think guys? Any chance we can all gather together for a Disdads pic?

Looks like I'll just miss you guys. Why aren't these dates on page 1? Hmmm...:confused3

Sounds like it's going to be a good week at WDW with all these DISdad's there....

Can't wait to hear about everyone's trips.

Safe travels guys.

My son woke up at 3:00 am this morning screaming. We calmed him down and got him back to sleep.

I asked him this morning what happened, he said he had a bad dream. I asked him about it, and he said he was being chased by Zombie's, and they had just caught him, and they were about to eat his brain!

Potential DISDad in the making...? :confused3

Good morning gentlemen! Another warm day here and loving it. If it stayed like this all winter I might like Kentucky.

Happy Birthday Walt Disney!

Good Morning!!

Bragging time.

DS and his team played in their first BBall tournament of the year yesterday and ran the table. They never trailed in any of the games and won each game by an avg of 20 points or so. Big confidence booster for them.

Congrats to your DS and his team!

My little man had a busy day today, this morning he completed his next belt test in karate, and at 6yrs old is now a brown belt:eek: Then after dinner we went to his track awards ceramony where he recieved a metal (everyone got one, but he still felt like hot stuff:cool1:)

Congrats to your little man!!

let me rephrase that. I should have said I went on a hike in the woods and just happened to be carrying my gun. LOL....My gun likes to go on walks with me

Wabbit season?

Or Dick Cheney's hunting buddy.

I think they immediately renamed the dog "Dick Cheney."

Well the Dolphins won again today. Looked good too. No chance of making the playoffs but they might win a few more games. Then the "We are close" stuff will come out of the front office again. A near middle of the pack draft pick. The coaches will be fired but I bet the real problem, the GM will still be there. No wholesale changes on the team. Maybe next year they can go 8-8 or 9-7. Might even make the playoffs as a wild card only to get creamed in the first round. And so it goes on and on.

Can you say, Bitter, Party of one.

Well, my NFL team has finally put together winning seasons the last few years... but a loss yesterday now has them barely holding on to a wildcard spot. disappointing year, hard to see them going far even if they do make the playoffs... and then our draft pick won't be better than the fins... but oh yeah, we gave away much of the next couple of years' worth of picks in this past draft.

To add to that, I am reeling from hearing that one of my favorite baseball players has just signed with another team within our division. I can't question the front office's decision to not want to pay him an outrageous amount of money. I just hate to see him go... and I will hate to see him wearing a different uniform.

On a different note, my back is almost 100%. But, it felt good enough to do some stuff today. So, all the Christmas decorations are done and the storage boxes put away. I don't feel any extra hurting, so hopefully, all is well. It's been 3 weeks since I last hurt my back. I've never had it take that long to recover. I must be getting old.

Glad to hear your back is feeling better.

When we were at Kidani last week I had one of the cast members come to our rescue. It was a pretty big deal and I want to go beyond the thank you I gave him. Does anyone of a specific address, email, phone number, etc. that I could forward kudos to for this outstanding CM?

Well, not to spoil my trip report (cough, cough). We had borrowed a luggage carrier for the trip. I had installed it and had been driving with it on the van for two weeks to make sure everything was ok.

On the way down just outside of Atlanta, the rear latch broke and the lid started to open (even though it was locked). We used a locking strap to hold it down. It was fine to Valdosta. When we left the next day to head to WDW it opened all the way and the front latch broke. This time the carrier shifted some how and two of the nuts were stripped and I could not get them off there. We tightened the strap even further and made it ok to Kidani.

I tried getting the nuts loose but it was too no avail. I went to concierge and was going to ask for directions so I could go to Walmart and get a hack saw. The CM at the desk said they were sure to have a tool and would send someone to meet at my vehicle. Robin from Engineering was awesome. He came with a sawsall, a hack saw, and all kinds of tools. We finally were able to break the bolts and get it off. It took about an hour. He was very patient and even disposed of the piece of beverly for me.

I thanked him, but I want someone there to know of this so maybe he would get some recognition from somebody important.

Welcome back! Great story!

In addition to the general guest communication address, perhaps a letter/email to management at Kidani, and if possible, tracking down contact info for the engineering dept. I am googling and will let you know if I find anything.

Oh boy...

I'm supposed to give a presentation tomorrow with two of my coworkers regarding changing our training strategy for our clients who will be working overseas. Originally, the presentation was for our team leader and the director of our division.

I just found out that the CEO of the company will also be attending...:scared1:

This is going to be my first presentation at this company and now needs to be nothing less than perfect. I wasn't worried when it was just going to be my two bosses, but now that the CEO will be there, I'm a bit stressed....

go get 'em!! :thumbsup2

We are safely back at home... although I wish I was still at Wilderness Lodge. :headache:

I posted intermittently while I was out, but didn't really read through and try to keep up with everybody. And as always, I probably won't try to catch up. I hope all is well with everyone. Ryan, have a great trip. Norm, glad the back's feeling better. Stopher, congrats on the new venture. I'm sure you'll make it a success. Dave, we didn't have anything to that extreme, but I was very pleased with all the CM's I encountered.*

*except for that Peter Pan look alike at Test Track:lmao:

Welcome back!

Tales from the Multi-Quote :lmao:

Well thanks to "Dome field" advantage (our home stadium is the UNI dome) and the best wishes from CJ the Panthers pulled off a great victory today to advance to the round of 8 in the FCS. :cool1: :thumbsup2

They actually scored two touchdowns with no time off the clock thanks to a boneheaded play by one of the Wofford players - he took the kick off in the endzone but never officially downed it so the ref never blew the whistle. After realizing what was going on one of our players ran in, knocked the ball loose and fell on it for a touchdown.

That's weird...Wofford is a private school in upstate SC with a very high Academic Standard....of course, boneheads come in all sorts:lmao:

They also have a pretty good athletic program going! Not good enough, obviously.

Hey guys.

It's been a little bit since I last visited/posted. It's been a very full, crazy kind of week - but in a very good way. I've been in Ft. Lauderdale all week, and still in Florida for another week. Tomorrow afternoon (around 3) I'll be leaving and heading north. Stopping in Vero Beach for the night, then on to OKW on Monday afternoon. :cool1: On a research trip. Will be at WDW til Friday morning, then over to Canaveral to board the Monarch of the Seas for 3 nights. Then up to Hilton Head Island before heading home again.

Step 1 of our multi-step plan has finally become fully effective. We decided to really go for it and go into business for ourselves, and step 1 was completed this week. I can't talk about it too much here on the DIS (since the DIS is owned by a TA), but that is the industry that is step 1. We have formally purchased a franchise operation, so as a result of that I can no longer be associated with FTJ. But this move is allowing for a large expansion over what was relatively limited in scope. Disney remains my specialty, but there is so much more that I have access to now through the home office. My website, which remains mostly Disney-centric, has been up for a while, and I've been sitting in the hotel each night updating, revising, etc to make all of the needed revisions. More to do, but I've been in training ALL day each day all week, so the time is limited each night. A second site went live recently too which is devoted to the expanded part of the business.

Step 2 continues to inch forward, and is a BIG part of this research trip.

Step 3 also continues to inch forward, with an in-depth meeting taking place next week while I'm in Orlando.

Step 4... we're still determining. But in the end, we are considering 3-4 different ventures under a single corporate umbrella.

For those of you who are friends with me on FB, you can see my post about it over there on either my personal page or my business page.

Anyway - I hope you all have a great Sunday! I'll be at WDW very, very soon - and am so very excited!!
:cool1: :yay: :dance3:

Good Luck Stopher!!

let me rephrase that. I should have said I went on a hike in the woods and just happened to be carrying my gun. LOL....My gun likes to go on walks with me

Have you seen the Santa/Chevrolet Commercial??

Santa: "What do you hunt"?

Outdoor Guy: "Deer....Fish, lot's of fish":lmao:

I can relate...sometimes a fishing trip turns into a nice (or not so nice) boat ride!

We are safely back at home... although I wish I was still at Wilderness Lodge. :headache:

Ok...we need the backstory to this one.

Yea, rub it in...we got a high of maybe 12 today in Denver....

Ummm...it's 80 here today

Long weekend is over. I was so tired last night. It's good to have a little computer time again. DD's holiday dance recital was yesterday. She did very well and had a great time. Some family made it out to see her, and they stayed for a while afterward to eat and hang out.

I am avoiding the pile of dishes/pots/pans in the sink. Somehow, in our division of labor, I ended up with dishwashing. ( I think I made the mistake early on of pointing out that a dish or glass was still dirty after DW had washed it! :rotfl2: LESSON LEARNED!!) DW and I don't see eye-to-eye on two issues when it comes to the sink. I believe the sink is a work area and should remain clear, and thus I try to stack dishes/pots/cups that need washing on the counter to the side of the sink. DW believes the counter is more important and takes everything I've stacked and dumps it into the sink. The other issue is the drain. DW thinks it is okay to remove the strainer completely and just let anything that fits go down the drain. And then she wonders why it gets clogged?!?! :confused3

All this could be solved by having a bigger kitchen with a nice big, two section sink... but that's not happening anytime soon. :rotfl2:

‘Morning all…

I’ve gotten myself hopelessly behind again so I’m going to have to toss out an official…

CRUD!

From that last page or two I see that some folks are back home again. There’s a couple of TRs that I’m looking forward to.

I saw something about a new venture for Stopher… Excelent! I hope that things keep coming together with the master plan.

And someone mentioned that it’s Walt’s birthday, so a big ol’ HBD to the memory and family of the ultimate DisDad are in order. (Should Dec 5th be a national Holiday?)

I’ll see if I can keep up with y’all this week, and I need to get back on to finishing my current TR and starting the next one. With the holidays bearing down on us, that’s going to be a bit tough.

Good morning gentlemen! Another warm day here and loving it. If it stayed like this all winter I might like Kentucky.

Not in my end of KY. 44 and raining. It hasn't stopped raining since last night. Another decade of this Beverly before I can retire to Florida? Not sure I want to try and make it.

Understood, and appreciated! :thumbsup2 Congratulations!

Well, my NFL team has finally put together winning seasons the last few years...
My NFL team almost screwed up and won a game yesterday. I honestly have no idea if the game was as close as the final score since I was driving home at the time, but it wasn't a blow out.:confused3

Ok...we need the backstory to this one.
Eh, not much of a backstory. Guy has red hair and if they put him in green tights and stuck him in the MK he could pass for Peter Pan.:rotfl2:

He just caught me at a bad time and made a comment that rubbed me the wrong way. I was single rider line for TT and he put me in row 2 with a dad and son. We proceed up to our row and this family of 4 who didn't speak English that he sent up to rows 1 and 2 about 4 loads ago are still up there and letting other groups get on ahead of them. They didn't understand what he told them and it was clear at the time, but they had screwed the whole loading situation up in the process. Well, the dad and son who I was supposed to ride with got on with the Dad from that first family while his wife and 2 sons rode together (instead of 2 in row 1 and 2 in row 2 like Peter told them). Instead of just hopping in the next car (by myself):confused3, I went back and told him what happened and he starts blaming me for messing it up. I just bit my tongue and stepped back to the front of the single rider line to wait to be re-assigned. If I had opened my mouth it would have been a very un-Disney situation for a lot of people, because I don't think the peanut butter and beverly filter would have worked quick enough.

Yea, rub it in...we got a high of maybe 12 today in Denver....

I will refrain from playing the winter weather game with all of you because of my home field advantage. In case anyone is interested lows last night 65, high today 81. Zero humidity. Not that I am rubbing it in or anything.

To add to that, I am reeling from hearing that one of my favorite baseball players has just signed with another team within our division. I can't question the front office's decision to not want to pay him an outrageous amount of money. I just hate to see him go... and I will hate to see him wearing a different uniform.

And that team would be? The Marlins had to do something after taxpayers helped fund a new ballpark. Deciding if I will get a small season ticket package. Probably will. Anyone down here during baseball, let me know. Maybe catch a game together.

Happy Birthday Walt Disney!

Happy Birthday Uncle Walt. And thank you.

In all seriousness, you're right, sometimes that filter is *just* quic enough:eek::lmao:

Dave and Andy, welcome home and I'm sorry you guys had to return to reality.

Stopher, sounds like awesome plans and good luck!

Everybody else, Happy Monday. :sad2:
