DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

My arms are the worst & not that this is an excuse, but I don't think even exercise will help them & surgery is not an option!

Now a tummy tuck I wouldn't mind :rotfl:

I so hear you on the extra skin. I don't think any amount of exercise will every tighten it up. I need to win the Megabucks and get a full body lift

I know its not an exuse, but with everything going on lately, havent been working on my eating and exercising...but

Now, I am back to business--Starting Monday, I am going to start working on me again.. I want to start working out and eating better. Ive done this before and I can do iti again...Right now, im at about 160--i will do an "official " weigh in on Monday. I fgure, 4 months willtake me to January 10 and i ileave for vacation on the 11th.
As of now, here is my plan--just watch what i eat--especiially the hunk and ice cream needs to be cut down drastically. I want to drink 80 oz of water a day..I want to be sure to take my meds everyday...I want to startthe couch to 5K program

My goals? I want to get to 145 lbs by January 10--15 lbs--thats doable right?

have a great weekend guys

This is very doable, you can do it Jen :cheer2:

Well---I DID IT!!

I know it doesnt seem like a big accomplishment, but it was about 95 degrees today and a crazy day at work..and i was invited out to lunch for my lunch b reak ---but i had eaten with the kids

so i went to the park and did day 1 of the couch to 5k----Its a 5 min brisk walk, then alternate 60 sec jogginig and 90 seconds walking...it was tough for me so i feel like an idiot, but i did it!!

ive gotten my water in and dd good on my eating...im feeling good!!!!!

yeah Jen!!! You go girl

I wish I could get motivated. I start each day strong, but by evening those oreo cakes look too good to resist. Oh yeah, I discovered cherry filled kisses. I need to swear off sweets and drink more water. I'll start tomorrow ;)

I tried a bite of the oreo cakes & I they remind me of Suzy Q's which I love! Thank goodness the boys got rid of them quickly lol

I just ate a bowl of strawberry yogurt ice cream, it was yummy!

I hear you on the waving arms! I know that they will never tighten up where they once were, partly due to my age and the loss of elasticity. But I have to share two stories from my first week back.

First - one of my new 3 year old students decided to play with the waving skin on my arm as I played at the piano. His mother was mortified! I explained that is was OK because the loose skin was there for a very good reason. :)

Second - many of my young students give me a hug when classes are finished and one little girl came up Thursday and gave me a big hug. She stepped back and said, "Mrs. H... did you lose weight? You are not so big to hug this year!" Again, mortification from the Mom but delight for me since it means the weight loss is showing up in many more places now. :goodvibes

I use Leslie Sansone's "Walk Away the Pounds " DVDs and love them. They provide varying levels of exercise depending on how much time and energy I have that day. There is the Easy 1 Mile Walk all the way up to the 4 Mile Walk that REALLY puts my body to work! They have really gotten me back into exercise again, and I can report a 1 pound loss this week!

Keep going, folks!

:cheer2: on the 1 lb loss!

She has so many different videos, which one do I start with? These look like something I could do ::yes::

I also have the Walk Away the pounds for abs videos. They really are easy to do and I don't feel like an uncoordinated clutz when I do them. I found they gave me a good workout too. :thumbsup2

I have three of hers, but I would start with this one if you can find it (I got this picture on ebay)

No matter how busy I am I have time for the 1 mile walk and when I have a little more time, I move up to the 2 mile walk. This also does some strength training with a thing she calls a stretchy, but I have just used my own piece of cloth that has a lot of "give" or yoga bands which also work.

Thank you Elin!

Janet, I love the new picture in your siggie of your boys at Halloween. I don't know about you but I can't wait for MNSSHP!!!!!!!!!!

It's good to see you back Jen & Elin. :goodvibes:

I'm here & checking in.

I lost 2 lbs this week. I am excercising 4-5 times a week. I feel like I am back in the groove again.

I decided to switch to Weight Watchers on-line for awhile instead of going to meeting. If I start to feel I need that accountability of weighing at a meeting, then I will go back, but I am pretty self motivated right now.

Everybody just keep swimming
:fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

Yes I am very excited!

:cheer2: on losing 2 lbs!
