DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

Hi everyone! Sounds like some pretty good weigh ins this week. Jennifer - congratulations on your new job. I know that you were excited about it and I'm so happy that it is such a perfect match for you. It sounds really rewarding! Nettii & amyobald - welcome to the group. Can't wait to get to know you.

And for my weigh-in today, I am very happily up 1 pound. I was so afraid that it would be much worse. First off its TOM so that isn't helping. Then there was the whole power issue. (For those not on the DDA thread, our power was out from early Sat morning until late Mon night.) Between Sat and Tues, I have eaten at IHOP, Sonic, McDonald's, Ryan's Steak House, the timeshare's grille (snack shop type place), Chick-Fil-A, Cici's Pizza, Pizza Hut and I think that's it. Plus, I have not been drinking my water or having a chance to exercise. So, with all of that stress and change adding up to only a 1lb gain, I am very happy.

As for last night we were back home and I started today with a healthy breakfast so I'm hoping back on track as quickly as I can. I've just got to figure out where my water bottle got put in the dark one day.

Keep up the great work everyone!

Congrats on getting your power back!!! Is everything ok at your place?

1 pound is not too bad considering all you've been through this last week.
Here's to a new week of good choices.

Thanks, Glynis. Everything ended up being fine here, just a little messy. I cleaned up the branches today and we had more down than I thought, but nothing to cause any damage. Just a few bigger ones to drag to the curb. Luckily, the city will come around with the mulching truck so we don't have to cut them up or anything. My sister had a little bit of damage to her gutters and roof. Hopefully, enough to get a new roof out of insurance, but not enough to cause any problems until it can get taken care of.

I never did get my water bottle out today, but I did eat well. Tonight though I can really feel the difference from having not had the water. It will definitely be out tomorrow.

I'm so glad you didn't have any damage! I was worried for you!

Isn't it amazing how much better you feel with water in you? It's just amazing to me! Good luck getting it today!

It looks like the scales are starting to cooperate, now to get back to exercising. I feel so much better when I do exercise, but I can't seem to motivate myself. I must say that I've been a bit depressed this week so that probably has something to do with it. I hope that I'm coming out of my rut now. At least the house looks cleaner and I haven't been stress eating the last few day. I guess that is 2 positives

I'm back from the doctor with no real answers (yet)! I had several xrays done today, and I have an MRI scheduled for Saturday afternoon. We are looking at a lateral meniscus tear (what my dad just had surgery for, actually) vs. a tibial plate fracture. We're keeping our fingers crossed for the fracture, believe it or not! It's nasty looking, requires shots into the joint (ouch!) plus pills and rest for weeks to months, but it heals "on its own" and very nicely. Meniscal tears on the other hand almost always require surgery, and almost never heal correctly. Keep your fingers crossed! Either way, it looks like I wasn't totally kidding when I said I was running with a broken knee! :rotfl:

Congratulations to all of you for keeping on track. I just can't stay motivated these days! :sad2:

Becky congratulations on the weight loss!

Deb sorry to hear you have been feeling depressed :grouphug:

Jen all I can say is ouch! :wizard: that your knee will not require surgery.

How do you all keep track of the water you have consumed? I think I need to get something with ounces on it. I know I am still not drinking enough

I have a bottle I use that is the equivalent of 3 cups. There are ounces listed on it. Another option might be to pick a cup or glass that you have at home and designate that as your water glass. Use a measuring cup to figure out how much that glass holds and then you can track how many that you drink.

By the way, I started a quasi-report about this trip. I've got one day left for that and for the pictures, but you're free to take a look if you'd like :) Links are in my signature. Please don't feel obligated!

Great non trip report Jennifer :rotfl: I couldn't stop reading & I am waiting for more!

I CAN'T STAND IT!!!!!!! I'm totally freaking out! What time did you finish? I wonder if we were anywhere close at that point. Alan says, "Wouldn't it be funny if you were in any of her pictures?" I am so bummed! We were probably right by each other. Talk about being too focused!

That is crazy that you guys were so close to each other. Did you guys meet at all??????
Guess I'll have to read Jenn's trippie to find out.

We finished at 3:30ish? Something like 3:31 or 3:34.... just over 3 hours chip time. I screamed when I read that and realized we LITERALLY probably stood 4 feet from one another for the entire half hour or whatever it was before our wave started! :sad2:

Great "non" trip report! I am just so sad we didn't get to meet! I can't believe that you felt good enough to go back to Epcot after the Half!!! We couldn't even move!

Man! I finished at 3:27 chip time. So, you had a good half hour on me at the finish!
