DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

Ok - I can't go back and read all the previous posts, meant to be studying - Anne Marie what is the 100 day challenge you're doing? Sounds interesting :)

Hi Clare! Glad to "see" you. I started a self imposed 100 day challenge where I would stay on weight watchers for 100 days straight. My motivation right now is to look good for our trip this August. Well I did great for 18 days & then this weekend I caved & lost a battle with fast food. Anyway I am back on track now & would love more friends to join us.

Hi Beth & everyone.
Beth I was going to PM you just now but since I saw your note here I might as well spill on this thread. Saturday & Sunday I totally went off the plan. We have been doing work on the house & I was stripping wallpaper & painting. No time to cook so we had fast food all weekend. Today I was half on & half off SOOOOO I start back tomorrow in full swing. I am not counting the last 3 days in my 100 day count because I didn't stay on plan...so technically I am at 18 days of doing the right thing. (I lost 3 days & I am bummed & I probably gained 5 lbs by now, I am not weighing in until my official day which is Wednesday). I jusy may need to start meetings cause this has been going on since January & I am only down about 10 lbs from then. Ok, kick my butt.

Great job to those who have stayed the course!!! I am trying again tomorrow. :goodvibes

I sent you a PM over the weekend, but I don't think it went through, because I had a server error right after I sent it.

You have done so well up until this weekend. Remember that 3 days won't mean much once you have 100 down!

Tomorrow you need to commit to being 100% there. I know you can do it! I will PM you in the morning to give you a little reminder. We are in this together, so do it for me as much as for yourself.

That sounds like a very good challenge - and :cheer2: to you for the 18 days - you'll recover from the fast food don't worry - just think about how well you're doing.

I'm doing an excercise push... quite like the idea of the 100 day challenge... I've been doing ok this last week doing something every day... better start writing it all down :thumbsup2

It's Wednesday which means weigh-in day for me...I lost another 3.5 pounds to make a total of 16 pounds so far. :sunny:

That's awesome, Beth!

It was a good weight loss week for me, too! I'm down another 2 pounds. I'm 16 pounds away from my ultimate goal weight. I'm stepping up the exercise, with walking/jogging in the morning, and aerobics or some other type of exercise in the evening. It's really helping the way I feel!

Way to go, everyone! Keep it up; all our goals are in sight and we CAN reach them.

I'm doing well too, been doing a half hour of pilates or aerobics or body conditioning before breakfast every day (except last Friday when I was so sore from the day before I couldn't move!) And thanks to FLYlady I have my pedometer out and am trying to walk at least 15 minutes a day.

Feeling better already - more energy - happier - hopefully I'll get back in my summer clothes before it starts getting hot every day :sunny:

Yeah for you, Glynis! That is terrific! You have done such a great job, and you were part of my inspiration for trying again.

Thanks, Clare. Those images are my free, non-calorie reward to myself. I make a new at every 5 pound increment. Now that the first few weeks are over, it will take longer between changes.

I think I've gone mad... I had a horrid day at work today (a meeting from 10.30 ran on until 2pm so a very late lunch eaten at my desk) I left early as I hadn't had a break and got stuck in a horrendous traffic jam - a 10 minute journey took nearer 35
I got home wanting dinner - and no food - so I had to call Dh to go to the supermarket on the way home... so what did I do then?

Went a bit crazy! I stuck my excercise vid on and did half an hour of kick boxing!!!! I already did a programme this morning but thought I'd see if it would blow the cobwebs away... it worked... I feel awake and raring to go... if still a little breathless and pink :)

AM I actually starting to like excercise?? Get me to a doctor quick! :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

It's been a wild and crazy week, I hope everyone is well. I have not had time to read or post much, soory. I do hope all is well for everyone.

I haven't made the best choices this week, but they haven't been horrible either.
Keep up the good work all and have a glass of water.

Good for you, Clare! You will be in those cute summer clothes before you know it!

Just remember, you can do anything for 15 minutes. That's how I started with my walking. Now I'm up to doing 2 miles of jogging/walking and I feel really good! It's amazing how a little exercise can affect my mood. Now, if I miss a day, I can really tell it in my mood. There's more motivation to do it, right?

Wow! Thanks for the compliment! I'm afraid you are making me

I have a hard time thinking of myself as an inspiration for anyone, but hey, if it's working, that's good! A year ago, I would never have imagined that I could feel this good physically, emotionally and mentally! It's amazing!

What's really amazing is the results we are seeing here on the DDA. Together we are such an awesome group! It's so wonderful to have this group of women to come to and celebrate or commiserate with. I know that I would never have been able to do this without all of you!

Can I just tell you how impressed I am that you did an exercise video instead of pigging out on junk food. That would have been my first thought, I must confess! WAY TO GO, CLARE!!!!! You are amazing!

Oh, and watch out! This exercise thing can be addicting!

Paula - It's good to see you around here, again! I'm sorry it's been a crazy week! I hope everything is going ok for you! We miss you!

Grr. This has been a wierd week weight wise. My weight has fluctuated up a pound, down a pound, up a pound, down a pound. This went on all week long. There's no reason for it, either. I'm not doing anything differently, so I'm not going to stress too much about it. It will be interesting to see what my official weigh in on Tuesday is.

That is frustrating, Glynis, but it sounds like you are handling it well. Does your cycle usually affect your weight at all? Maybe that is causing the ups/downs. You have done and are doing a TERRIFIC job, so don't let it stress you! :sunny:

It usually does, but it's not the right time of the month for it to be affecting my weight, if you know what I mean. Oh well, like I said, I'm just going to continue doing what I've been doing, and not let it get me down!
