I'll third this. I totally agree with this. :thumbsup2 When I said I was going to do this back in December in my subconscious I was going I know I can't do this. I set my first goal at 10 pounds and honestly thought I wasn't going to reach that. In my mind I was going, I haven't been able to do this before why would this time be any different??? :confused3 The difference is all of you cheering me on and encouraging me to keep going. :disrocks:

When I am having a rough day you all cheer me up and keep me going. :cool1: For those of you who are just beginning your journey to a healthier life. The longer you are doing it the easier it becomes. :thumbsup2 I knew this wasn't going to be easy but all of you have made it much more enjoyable and manageable :woohoo: as you have been struggling right alongside me. :)

It still amazes me that people I haven't met or only met for a weekend have made such a huge impact on my life, literally 40+ pounds worth. :lmao: :thanks: Thanks to all of you for helping me become healthier!! :grouphug: Together our will power is stronger and we can achieve more. :bounce:

I didn't even finish the carton :teeth: I decided I have too much stress going on to try and force myself to like something at the minute... maybe next month

And thanks for the compliment  :)

I read this "I didn't even finish the cartoon", and was literally sitting here trying my darndest to figure out what the heck you were talking about?! :rotfl:

And I, too, think you're beautiful! :)

PS - Will get back to your PM shortly

My first week I lost a little over 5lbs. It hasn't been too hard either. I have found all kinds of great low point snacks thanks to my neighbor and that has helped tremendously. The hardest part for me is the mornings as I normally get up around 5:30am and don't eat until 9:30am. I have been trying to eat breakfast with the girls and I think that will be a big help. I didn't get to walk a whole lot last week due to the weather but it's looking much better this week.

So here's to a great week everyone.

Great job, Robyn!!!!! That is fantastic!

Great job Robyn!

I did virtually no exercise last week since my last long-run :guilty: I think I did one of my 35-minute days, but that's about it! We have been doing pretty well with eating, though, so I suppose that's good!

Today, despite feeling like crap (maybe coming down with something, haven't slept much for a few days, etc) I told Kyle we absolutely had to stay on track with our long runs..... so we did 6 miles together this afternoon!

It was really disheartening at first, because it was HARD! By about mile 3 I felt awful. :guilty: I took it a bit slower than last week, but actually ended up running a larger percentage (only walked 0.7miles/6) so my overall pace average was 13:43mpm...... still better than my goal! :teeth:

But when I got done, I felt so overwhelmed and had such flu-like feelings that I literally cried (a bit emotional right now  ) :guilty: . But THEN, I realized that the reason I felt horrible was because I felt horrible going into it. In actuality, my legs didn't feel too bad. My heart wasn't pounding out of my chest, I caught my breath pretty quickly.... It was very encouraging, because it wasn't so much the running itself that made me feel that way! :teeth:

I hope you all are having a good start to your week! We ended up going to Arby's after showering, so that was sort of silly.... but it tasted great! Have a good evening... I'm off to watch the Steelers on MNF! :cheer2:

WOW Anne Marie. Seven pounds is wonderful!!! You go girl!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I lost 5.8. Like you said, a lot of water weight!

We'll I'm off to crop.

Type to you all later....

5.8 is awesome! I read your other post & just wanted to say I love the crystal light. The pink lemonade & strawberry kiwi are so refreshing & don't taste like diet. I try to have 100 oz of water a day but at least 16oz of that is crystal light.

Here's to another great week!

Sounds like everyone is doing great! I am sticking with you guys since you are all winners!!!! :thumbsup2

It is great to see how well everyone is doing. I can't believe all the new posts with weight loss. What a great motivation. Chris did start Weight Watchers today so hopefully it will make dinners a little easier around here. As most of you know, today is my birthday. You will never guess how I celebrated.................................I went to my first Karate class :rotfl2: I am the only adult woman doing it and I think 37 might be a little late to become a master, but I think that getting exercise and spending time with my kids will make it worth while. They started class with 2 sets of 30 crunches followed by 30 push ups, then 90 deep knee bends then 30 jumping jacks and man were they fast. Needless to say I did not complete each task, but did better than I expected. So at least I exercised once this week :thumbsup2 I have weigh in tomorrow so I'll see how I did.

I am normally a stress eater, but I guess that I was over stressed lately as I really haven't been hungry at all and have had to force myself to eat. I don't know how that will effect my week, but I guess I'll see.

Since I've put myself out there so much over the last couple of weeks...I'm going to go even further and post some pictures from the past.

This was me at age 23. I was in pretty good shape and worked out regularly. This was before kids.

This was me at nearly 33. 3 kids and no time later.

This was me about a year and a half later at age 34. This was after losing 50 lbs on Atkins

It is truly amazing what diet and a little exercise can do. Since the 3rd photo I have gained about 12 lbs and find myself a lot less confident. I am already seeing results with Weight Watchers and hope to lose what I gained and more to reach my lifetime weight loss goal. Only time will tell. I have some very unflattering recent photos that I will share once I have lost some of this weight and have something new to compare it to.

Deb

I am so impressed with all of you!
Robyn - great first week!
Jennifer - your running is getting better. Keep it up!
Deb - sounds like a great way to exercise and spend time with the boys. I can't wait to hear about your weigh-in this week!

You guys are all doing great!!! I did the treadmill yesterday and will do so again tomorrow.,it feels good, but i have to make myself motivated to do it..I have been drinking water like crazy and watching what i eat (excpet for tonight..ugh!)
Tomorrow will be better!

I have been thinking reccently about doing karate. But I don't really have the time for it. Plus I have to get these health issues figured out before I do something like that.

Hi everybody :wave2: .

Well, I am feeling a bit frustrated right now :furious: . I have been excercising 3 times a week & staying in my points range & still only lost 0.5lbs this week. It has been so slow lately........we talked about the tortiose & the hare tonight & how it is ok to be the tortoise because you still end up winning the race. I know it is good to loose it slow, but a 1/2lb a week is frustrating. I am still about a two pounds from loosing 40lbs total after 10 months. I know that is still good, but there are people all around me that have lost more in shorter time. Sorry for the vent yall :furious:. I am going to hang in there & just keep swimming :fish: because I am still loosing but just really slowly.

Everyone keep on going. :cheer2: Ya'll are all doing great.

Melanie - did your WW counselors have any ideas as to what you could do to nudge the weight loss up? You have the right attitude, though, just keep swimming! You really are doing amazingly well!!! I'm so proud of you!

Melanie, I'm still learning about Weight Watchers and found out tonight that if you exercise you need to eat additional points on those days. It seems stupid to me, but they tell me that you must eat the additional points or the exercise could actually make you gain weight :confused3 I haven't had time to look into it yet, but was wondering if you were doing this?

I lost an additional 2.4 lbs this week for a total of 4 lbs to date. Not bad in 2 weeks. Slow and steady, right?
