DDA Chapter 9

Terry :wizard: for good air fare coming home. But I like how Stephanie thinks. ::yes::

Airtran has flights for $110.00 coming home. But by the time we pay for the second bag and window seat, we'd pay more than the $149 SW wants. I don't think they have all of the good fares loaded just yet. There is just no way the final price will be $149 for a Tuesday!!!!:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Who is seeing this tomorrow? I think Kyle and I are going to go. My sister gets back from a week out of town and all she has done when she talks to my mom is beg to visit on the way home. She is so desperately in love with this girls, it's adorable! We looked for "Baby Pictures" showing it (a program for parents to take infants/small children with brighter lights, less noise, changing stations and food stands right in the theater, etc)... but alas, it seems adults want to see non-Disney/Pixar movies when they get a chance to go out. Not these adults! We're hoping my mom and sister will watch the girls a few hours so we can go. Kyle thinks it's important to establish a day for us to go on a date at least every few weeks, and I agree. I just can't figure out where this guy came from who replaced my husband when the babies were born! :confused3 :rotfl:

Don't question, just enjoy Kyle's determination! And he's right. You guys are really going to need some time to yourselves. Trust me, it's easier now, while you are pumping then when the girls get a little older. It's important to keep the husband/wife relationship alive right now. It's tempting to fall into the "I'm a mom" or "I'm a dad" routine, but remember you were husband/wife first.

I totally agree.

All you travelers have great trips! Elin, Deb and family, Anne Marie, anyone else I'm forgetting. I am not a tiny bit jealous, I am a HUGE bit jealous!

It's going to be 98 degrees here today! Can we all say it together? AIR CONDITIONING!!! I'm trying to come up with something very cool for dinner tonight, but so far, going out to eat sounds the best to me. I think I'll check and see if Wall-E is playing at the drive in theater tonight. If so, we can pick up a pizza on our way to the theater and eat it there. Hmmm, that's an idea!

The kids and I are off in a few minutes. We are hitting the craft store for some "I'm bored" projects. They've been really good about cleaning their rooms every day, and working on summer reading and math projects that I want to reward them. Maybe we'll stop by Sonic and get their 99 cent shakes as a treat today!

Other than that, I'm taking it easy! Laundry is all done (except for Katie's, which she does herself), so I'm feeling ok about taking a day off. Maybe I'll even get to my trip report!

Tammi & Elin enjoy your trips!

Jennifer enjoy your movie night with Kyle!

Deb your trip is almost here :cool1:

Stephanie good luck with the flights :wizard:

This covers just about everything! Thanks, Janet! ;)

 and pixiedust: I wish there were more I could do. He's another time I wish that we could have a glimpse into the future.

Ok...I think I'm going to go look at the Country Inns and Suites. We'll be there on a Saturday night, too, so I'm sure it will be even more crowded with local people having parties. Thanks for the heads up! I wish that I knew someone in every area that I'm staying in. I've tried TripAdvisor, but I'd trust "real" people more. We did determine that you were "real" people, right?

Yep. We established that most of us are indeed real. :thumbsup2

Good luck!!!

I hope that USAir isn't cutting anything here. Since I wanted to fly from home to minimize the impact on dh, I had two choices: USAir and United. The tickets on United were almost $500 each! Needless to say, I'm flying USAir. I won't have to pay for the first checked bag, because my tickets are already purchased, but I keep worrying that they will cut/change my flights. :worried:

I keep checking mine, too. This morning they were still the same.

Elizabeth, Thank you so much for letting me know. Please tell Diva Girl that I really appreciate her input. We are now booked for the Country Inn & Suites instead.

I hope she is right about that one being better, then! The street it is on is the street I drove up and down about 25 times last week - there are a ton of restaurants, WalMart, Target, Starbucks, all that sort of stuff. There is also a mall. I didn't make it to the mall, but I saw it!

The $147 Tuesday fares are reserved for people who were supposed to go home the day before and switched flights less than 24 hours out. :headache: I paid $41 on a DING for my original flight, but that last minute switch was pricey! I will say SW was very nice about it, and they don't have a change fee in addition to the difference in fare.

That's how I felt too. I could have paid $34 less for Airtran - but given that SW will apply credits and refunds and two bags (which means I can pack a whole bag of food for us Janet and Anne Marie!) :rotfl:

The fare Terry snapped up for $88 this morning is now $183.50. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Wow you are one chatty group. Hope all is going well. Have a little more free time now and thought I would jump in if the water was still warm.

We are trying to plan a trip (fork in the road due to loss of employement last week) for the future when Aidan gets out his Trach and has both ears implanted. A little celebration and allow him to hear the Magic that is Disney.

Mya should be able to walk better with her PERCS procedure done that we are going down to Galveston to have done. The rest of us are doing pretty well without much sleep, but we do get a Nurse for Aidan every other night. So what all have I missed? :)

It's nice to have you back, though hopefully you will find employment really soon. I'm sure Aiden and Mya would love a trip to WDW. My family will be arriving at WDW on Saturday. We are so excited :cool1: :hyper:

Egads! I just checked TripAdvisor on the Country Inns and Suites. I don't know why I didn't before. I think I may be rethinking this one more time! But thanks for the input.

Hi Mac, good to hear from you. :)

I can't help with the catch up, but am sure someone will come along and give you an update.

Mac is back!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Jump right back in the water is always warm for family. Aidan is so dang cute (well Mya is too):goodvibes

I give pretty good recaps but I don't think I give THAT good of one:rotfl: ....if you have questions then hopefully I can answer them!!

Oh, dear! I'm sorry! Maybe the Holiday Inn with the "OK" rooms and the icky pool would be better if the County Inn is getting bad room reviews!

Don't be sorry, Elizabeth. The first three reviews on the Country Inns and Suites included the word "filthy" in relation to the rooms. I'm looking around a little more. Maybe the Fairfield Inn which is in that Wanamaker Road location...but we'd have to be a family of 4 that night. I'll figure it out. I'm just starting to stress about everything that could possibly go wrong on this trip.

Oh, I totally agree! We talked early on (before even trying for kids) about keeping a date night every week or so whenever kids came along, I'm just surprised at how quickly he's determined to initiate it. Well, and that he's the one initiating it at all! :rotfl:

Hi Mac! It's nice to see you and those adorable kiddos of yours! :goodvibes
