DDA Chapter 9

I was 41 (3 months shy of 42 when she was born) when I was pregnant with Emma. The pregnancy was a bit rough-I was so sick with morning sickness until about 24 weeks and then I carried her so low. But Emma was super healthy and I had the easiest delivery with her.

Well, that's what I'm hoping for! An easy delivery! Actually, I'm scheduling a C-section. That way, I'm guaranteed to have my doctor deliver, rather than one of her partners. Alan can get time off, and my mom can schedule her dialysis treatments around it. Seems like the best thing to do during a hectic time!

New album at Picasa, and a new post with some of my favorite photos, hands down.... if anyone is interested :)

Kyle's med-peds class is coming any time now, so I'm off for the evening. He's off the next 3 days, too. We're all pretty excited! If I'm not on a lot, have a great weekend! :goodvibes

Oh, I am so in love with those little darlings!!! Great shots of them in the car seats! But the one I love the most is the tiny hand holding onto the finger. Darling! Thanks for posting them!

I like Fairfields....although I haven't been in one in Colorado Springs...I'll scope it out for you!! (Because it's on the south side it's probably fine since that's the olympic training side)

I for sure have the day off so we can definitely come up to the Springs or meet you down here for Casa Bonita...whichever. :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

The kids definitely want to go to Casa Bonita, so that may be easier for you. I haven't quite decided on what we are doing that day yet. I need to get moving on these plans!

Before I forget...I've been playing phone tag for a second interview....I hope he answers his phone soon!!::yes::

2 good things happened today.

1 - I got my annual review/contract renewal. I get to keep my job for another year! My salary increase is much more than I was anticipating, AND I got a year end bonus! Yesterday Momboss said they will NOT count the 4 days I was off as vacation, it was just paid time off. :goodvibes Have I mentioned how truly incredible and fabulous my bosses are?

2 - DH talked with the office manager today and she said they WILL count the day he missed as a paid sick day, so he isn't being docked for Tuesday. :thumbsup2

Because of these unexpected windfalls I ordered DH the camera bag he wants from Best Buy. It was on sale for $10 less than normal, and we had $15 in reward certificates, and it had free shipping. Not too shabby! Now he needs a tripod and then maybe he will hush! ;)
Yay for good things!!!

Adorable!!! They are such beautiful little girls. A few of those pictures really give an idea on size. My smallest was 7 lbs 12 oz, and my biggest was 8 lbs 11 oz.

Another EGADS! I was looking up some more information on Pike's Peak, and the day we arrive (and were planning to do Pike's Peak) is International Hill Climb Day. I know that date wasn't out there last time I looked.

Theresa, do you know what this means in terms of crowds, etc. Also, the race could last until 6 pm. I think this means we are paying $$$ for the Cog Railway, since we probably won't be able to drive up.

I have never heard of it in terms of Pike's Peak...the last time I heard it mentioned was for our hill in Billings...let me look for you.

ETA: I would guess that somebody is really not on the ball as fan fest hasn't even been scheduled yet. But with the toll road being closed for at least part of the day you are probably better off with the railway...do you know if it's going to run?

they keep saying different days on the site.....it seems a little disorganized...obviously not a DDA'er in the bunch:rotfl2:

I was just looking at the railway prices...and it's not that much more than the toll price AND you don't have to drive up it!!

Yes, definitely disorganized! I know that it wasn't listed at all a couple of weeks ago when I looked.

According to the Cog Railway site, they are running trains that day. I was able to find a $5.00 off coupon, too. I am pretty sure we could get there in time for the 5:20 train, and it looks like you don't actually pay until you arrive anyway.

Better for me all around, I think. Especially, if there is race traffic. Even if the race ends at 3:00 pm, there will still be plenty of traffic in that area. I put in for a reservation, but I won't know if I can get one for a couple of days. I should have called instead of submitting on-line, but I didn't realize that it wasn't an instant response.

The extra money is saved by not needing brake repairs.

Theresa, did you ever hear back from your job interview person that you were playing phone tag with?

It sounds like 3 good things happened today. I'm glad things are looking up. How is Mom today?

Sounds like a really good plan. I'm so impressed that you are already getting all your ducks in a row.

;) You'd have to buy Business Class to get A 1-15. So you were really fast this morning to get 26 and 28. That's only 11 people before you! :teeth:

Morning DDA!

YAY! :yay: You just made my evening, Chanon!!!

I think we're all set to go. The camper is packed, the house is clean, two kids are at my parent's house and the third is supposed to be going to sleep. Chris has been sleeping for a couple of hours now. It should be quick getting out of here in the morning. I have the last load of laundry washing now. Once it goes in the dryer I can go to bed.

I'm really excited, but nervous too. I just pray that we all make it safely since we not travelling together.

We have an amber alert for a 12 year old girl that's been missing since yesterday morning. The town she is missing from is only 30 miles from here. What is this world coming too?

I am so excited for you!!! I can't wait to read all about your trip. I know that you are going to have an incredible time!

Sounds like a really good plan. I'm so impressed that you are already getting all your ducks in a row.

Well, considering that Peanut will make his grand entrance on either December 8 or 11 (the days my dr. does surgery), I need to get everything done for Christmas before then!

WOW our tickets going down is $88.50 a piece. Coming home is a big difference. Now to wait and see if the price goes down or buy it :confused3

I bought mine at $129 each way. That's high for my market. I'll hope for a ding in the next few months.

When I saw that SW had fares out through January 9, tonight I decided to check for our December trip. $438.00

That is PER PERSON and the flight back is a "Wanna Get Away" fare!

Theresa, did you ever hear back from your job interview person that you were playing phone tag with?

nope...but he did tell Jim that he might be hard to get a hold of...so I will try again tomorrow

All of this sounds like the perfect ending to a nasty week, Elizabeth! :goodvibes
