DDA Chapter 9

I wish, but my hair would need to be striped first, and I am afraid of what kind of damage it might do.

I went darker then what I am naturally, and I really like it.
Mom is never sure if she likes it when its so dark, because I am so pale.

Are you going blond, Heidi? If so, please post pictures. :teeth:

Anne Marie

Congrats to Katie, and keep hounding her to wear the sunscreen.

I think a military jet just flew overhead. Why do they think its necessary to fly so low? :confused3

Thanks for all the well wishes for Lizzy. I called DH and he said she was doing OK-just puttering in her room quietly-hadn't eaten too much yet-just a banana. Seems like some wierd virus is going around and it shows in a variety of ways. Emma has the very high fever and itchy, Joe had a low grade fever and nausea, Lizzy had a low grade a few days ago and very tired and then the episode last night. One of my friends kid's had it for 8 days.:scared1:

For those of you who don't read it, I thought I'd share this :) Amy was referring to a gift Kyle came home with. I really can't be on long because my favorite MIL is almost here (for the entire freaking day. just she and i. to "help out", although I'm doing just fine thanks )
LOVE your bracelet! Hope you day wasn't too long.;)

I am sorry to say that I don't. It looks like we are going to be dodging some yucky weather so I decided to do this trip on a day-to-day basis so we have no disappointments. I am assuming that your phone numbers that were on the DDA list last December are still valid. If not, please PM me. Mine are the same! :)
Yes-the numbers are the same. I'll PM you my work number too.

The biggest problem today is that DH is mad at me. He says there is absolutely nothing I can do for her so I need to come home. He's mad that he's not being paid for today, he's mad that I am out of vacation time, he's mad in general. Frustrated, I guess, but it comes across as mad. I told him if I come home and she gets worse I will have to turn around and come right back. He says Mom just needs to take responsibility for herself blah blah blah. So perhaps DH secretly WANTS to be Diva's guardian? Left to her own devices Mom won't do anything, so any complications will just spiral out of control. Fun, fun, my life is so fun. :rolleyes1
:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
Hope your Mom was released today and improving enough that you feel you can go home.

Sorry your DH is frustrated with the whole ordeal. Men generally get pretty uncomfortable when something is wrong and they can't fix it. I suppose we all do but women can cry and men get mad.

Excuse me while I climb in my handbasket and begin my descent. :headache:

We agreed that DS needed to be ON his meds over the summer because he gets so surly without them. DH just picked him up from camp and he is in a big old snit because he didn't do well in camp today with hitting and catching. If he was on his meds it wouldn't bother him NEARLY this much. But DH does NOT comprehend that. He has a complete failure of understanding when it comes to keeping DS on meds when he doesn't have school. The pharmacist told me NOT to take him off cold turkey, but DH hasn't bothered to give him a Focalin in 6 days. Of course he is snarly and obnoxious! We learned that over Spring Break! GRRRR!
HOW FRUSTRATING!!!!!

Good morning, everyone! I'm baaaaack!!!
Welcome home! Can't wait to hear about your trip. Take it easy with the laundry! How are you feeling?

Bernadette,
Beautiful creations!!!
Thanks!

Today is Katie's graduation. The ceremony was held this morning & now she has gone to their beach/pool party at a local private beach club:rolleyes2 :snooty:. We do not belong to this club so it is a real treat for her to go there. Although we had a "discussion"
1.gif
before she left regarding suncreen. She sees no reason for it, I of course disagree & I won in the end, covering her from head to toe in it.

She was given the President's Award for Exellence keeping an A average for 4th, 5th, & 6th grade. We are very proud of her...I just hope she keeps it up so she can get into a good college & hopefully win some scholarships. Just my college has gone from $8,000 a year when I went to $23,000 now. We have been saving for all 3 since they were born but the price just seems astronomical. I told Katie to take up the tuba:laughing: so she could get a scholarship for that as alot of kids don't play the tuba...:) (It worked for Patti Lupone)
:woohoo: Congrats to Katie!

I think my cooling off break is almost done. I have been working out in the yard, and I still have more to do. I also have to mow and trim yet. It is supposed to rain tomorrow, and I have to work extra this week to prepare for the 4th of July sales. So I need to get this off of my "to do" list today!

Have a great day all!
:wizard: Good luck getting things done.

We are having nasty storms here.

My BIL is a music teacher, and he is always saying that if you want a guaranteed scholarship have your kids learn the oboe, bassoon, tuba, or euphonium. Those are difficult instruments, and bands and orchestras always need them. Worked for his daughter. She can play the euphonium, tuba and bassoon, and got offered full ride scholarships to 3 universities!
How about the french horn? That is what Joe says he wants to play but I think he's mentioned tuba too. I'll have to push for that.

Mom is home now, and I am leaving for the airport in about 20 minutes. For some reason my aunt decided she wants to leave at 5 PM instead of 6 PM. Whatever. As long as I make my flight!

Since I missed a lot for a couple weeks, are you finishing your one week off, or the 3 weeks?
I was off the week you were in the hospital and then had to work yesterday, today and tomorrow. Then I'm off again until the 21st.

Your baby is growing up! Congratulations to her on her award!

I'm glad to hear this. I just hope life isn't stressful for you at home too.

Thanks! I'm feeling pretty good! I get tired easily, but that could be the heat, too.

Definitely the french horn! Always in demand!!!

for your own sanity...in one ear..out the other. men don't always deal with stress in the best way...I am sure he's feeling a tad helpless in regards to trying to help you...and it comes across not in the best way

you could give him the "this is where rubber meets the road and he has to man up" speech....but I do try to save that one. It's the in case of emergency break glass talk :rotfl:

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I hope you find yourself home and relaxed quickly! :goodvibes

Hooray! I was hoping you still had your long stretch left!

We have some hospital pictures online, finally! I guess they've been up a couple of days, but I never got the email I was supposed to :confused3

Kyle and I were actually going to completely bypass the hospital photo shoot, because I just feel like we get infinitely better shots ourselves than I tend to see from the hospital photographer, in this day of digital cameras and hundreds of the same shots all day :rolleyes1

I'm glad we didn't, though! The Christ Hospital outsources their photography service, and I'm so impressed with the job the photographer did! We didn't even bring in a real outfit or anything because we weren't really interested, so I'm glad we had a pair of onesies (decorated by my sister) that looked pretty cute with the blanket used as a background.
