Happy 1st Birthday

Lucy!

This also means I have been at my job for one year, as Lucy was born on my first day at my Girl Scout job.

I just had a realization today that I am leaving Monday for my training in New York. It really snuck up on me.

Have great day!

Elin-I've really been enjoying your photos!

Robin-Happy Birthday to Lucy! She's so stinking cute! Loved her cakes.

Elizabeth-your DH's photos were great!

Marci-hope you're feeling better!

Janet-Hope you're feeling better! After 2 summers in a row with DDP I decided NOT to do it this year. There were lots of meals we would have skipped last year if we hadn't already paid for them. You can use your DDE at POFQ and they usually take it at POR food court too!:thumbsup2

Jen-sorry to hear about the job.

Theresa-sorry to hear about the job.

Amy-your pictures were great! Just a few more days til Noah's arrival!!!!

Vicki-I enjoyed all your photos!

Tia-I have they CD made for your friends I just need to get it boxed and in the mail to you.

Denise-good luck on the roadrace and surgery!:wizard:

Jennifer-hope the iron kicks in quick!

The plan for tomorrow is to take the T into Boston again to do the skywalk at the Prudential Building, then head to Harborfest at the harbor, of all places. Then shopping on Newbury Street and dinner at a tapas restaurant. Ought to be a fun day.

Bernadette - Do you work in Boston?

Elin-I work in Quincy-just south of Boston. I was going to ask you if you wanted to meet for tapas some night-would you be up for company? Give me a call at work or cell tomorrow.

I had a not so fun day at work today. My boss told me that they are restructuring and I will be reporting to someone else. Unfortunately it is someone I don't respect too much. He's simply not that intellegent but good at kissing up and taking credit for other people's work. I'm hoping it won't mean too much change for me-I can't imagine that he'd want to change things too much but it is really hard for it to not feel like a demotion. Not that it is meant to be a demotion at all but I was reporting to a Sr VP who I had a lot of respect for and now I'm reporting to someone I trained before I went on maternity leave with Lizzy. Too bad I'm not male and a golfer. There are other changes going on with a good friend of mine that make me uncomfortable too. I've been there over 16 years and changing jobs is not something I'm interested in.

I went to bed a while ago but couldn't sleep. I guess I should try again.

Have you guys heard about the amber alert Deb mentioned for the 12 year old girl in VT? They've arrested the girl's uncle on unrelated rape charges of another 14 year old relative. He was the last person seen with the girl. And today they arrested the girl's step father on unrelated charges also. So sad.:sad2:

I made this for Lizzy over the weekend.

I had an eye doctor's appointment Friday morning and I do need a new reading prescription so I think that will really help me see all my tiny little numbers at work. I made this little card case before I went to the dr. I need to make another one and make the piece I did in yellow to hold the cards a bit bigger. I got the pattern for free online from www.amybutlerdesign.com in case anyone wants to make their own.

Janet & Lindsay just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten about you guys-I still need mail your CD's of photopass pictures too.

Now I'm really going back to bed!

Theresa- Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that things turn around quickly for you. :wizard:

Jennifer- I am loving the pics of Avery and Elise. Just precious! I hope the iron gives you the boost you need.

Amy- Know that I be checking in for news of Noah's arrival. :wizard: for a easy and quick delivery.

Elin- Loving the pics, thanks for sharing!!

Bernadette-:wizard: that the transition at work isn't as bad as you fear. I love Lizzy's dress. I hope and pray they find that girl safe and sound. Scary world. I think Lucy is pretty stinking cute too, but I am little biased. :goodvibes

Janet-I hope you get some relief soon.

Tia-Sounds like your settled into your job quite nicely. I hope the surgery helps with her sleeping issues and her congestion. It seems like banging my head against the wall would be easier than trying to get her issues figured out.

Denise- :wizard: for your surgery.:wizard:

Jennifer- Lucy is not walking and she doesn't really walk around the furniture. She will pull up at our coffee table and transfer to the couch and continue this pattern to get where she wants to. But she can't do it along the coffee table or couch by themselves. I did catch her let go once and it was hilarious to watch her realize that she wasn't holding on to anything. Emma walked at 10 months. Mo at around 13 months. My niece who is exactly 4 weeks younger than Lucy is walking already and of course her mom (my SIL) is just rubbing it in as much as she can! Whatever!!

Jen- I forget what exit you are off the NJ turnpike but we are on it now. Have fun this weekend.

If the curling works, it ought to be perfect, Chanon!

And we did play games, and talked and giggled like school girls... well, except for Bob... he just   :sad2:

Ahh, I see my future..... :goodvibes

This is adorable!

Elin - Sounds like a fun night! My favorite kind too! Terra and I are loving your pictures, even if they do induce a few tears of homesickness. ;) Tomorrow sounds like a fun day. Are you guys going to brave the Esplanade on Friday or do you leave before then?

We don't leave until Saturday but there is no way I will be down there! We are seriously thinking about going down tomorrow night for the concert sans fireworks. We will have to see how late we get back from the Cape. Sorry you are a tad homesick but I am glad Terra (and you) are enjoying the pictures.

Ahh, I see my future..... :goodvibes

Good morning, Jennifer (and Avery and Elise!). I can only wish for you as much fun as I have with my two daughters. That ought to fill your years with happiness. :goodvibes

Bernadette - I will try to work in a phone call today. Kathrin has a friend flying in from Richmond for the long weekend so we will have to see how our timeline works out. I am hoping we can work it out to get together!

I am sorry to hear about your supervisor changing. Yuck. Can you take up golf? ;) I am not good with change, so I know how you feel.

I had read Deb's post about the missing girl, but I hadn't heard anything else. Very sad. :sad2:

Lizzy's dress is adorable! You are just a terror with that sewing machine these days! Good for you! :thumbsup2

I think I will take Princess to the "liberry" this morning, then we'll hit the Galleria for a bit.

Theresa lot's of  for you!

Elin hope you all have another wonderful day :goodvibes

Bernadette cute dress & I love the card holder! :wizard: that to much does no change at work.

Elizabeth that is scary having someone go around shooting cars. Monday an employee of one of our grocery stores found a body in the dumpster :scared1: Our town is not that big & for something like this to happen is really scary! The police do have a suspect already, I hope he is caught soon.

Jennifer sounds like Virginia might be walking soon

Glynis good luck with your Dr. appointment today!

I finally got my temperature to drop last night, but now it seems to be going back up. I think I will put another call into the Dr's office when they open. Besides the fever, the pain under my ribs is really starting to bother me more. I cannot be sick right now, my manager is leaving town tomorrow & will not be back till Wednesday. So I need to be better to go to work!

Amy, get your bag packed already!

Doing the Hokey Pokey though does sound like more fun!:goodvibes

Leighanna wants to go bike riding today. Nice weather for it, but I don't know if I want to go. I still have the baby seat on the back of the bike if that gives any indication of the last time I rode it!

How was the bike ride?

The Hokey Pokey has become a daily staple in our lives. The kids really like when we put our tummies in, because someone has a really big tummy right now. :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Amy- You are one busy gal. Are you sure you are due any day now? Where does your energy come from?!? I hope you manage to get some down time in there.

It's called procrastination. :teeth:

We didn't make it in until after 1 a.m., and I was back here at 6:45 this morning. I'm thrilled that we have no more games this week. Andrew still didn't get to play much -- a couple of innings of each game. I'm at a loss as to how to get his confidence up. He did fine in the field but struck out both times he batted.

 to you Marci as you try your best to help Andrew.

Well I just went to the Board of Education for the one job that I interviewed at. I went in to get Sub papers and while i was there, i asked about the prospects for september-----i did not get the job. The woman said that i did very well on y interview and there just werent enough positions..So im kinda bummed...Just wanted to let you guys know

I'm sorry Jen.

So far I've got 2 loads of laundry going, mowed and weed-sprayed the front lawn, and went through a bunch of cookbooks trying to plan some meals. Now I think I'll hop in the shower. I still have a kitchen floor that needs a good mopping.

Let us know if you can recommend any new recipes, please!

And I called Mo's dr in regards to her sleep study as I had not yet gotten the results. Her sleep study came back perfectly normal. Remember I said that she seemed to have a perfect night's sleep that night showing none of what normally happens when she sleeps. After much discussion we decided that we should have her tonsils and adenoids taken out anyway. She exhibits all of the symptoms of apnea. Her surgery will be done sometime in the next few weeks. Keep your fingers crossed that it will help.

Lots of :wizard: that the surgery does the trick!

We are all doing pretty well still. I haven't logged on a lot because Kyle was home all weekend (Friday-Sunday) and then I again felt like crap. I got a phone call from my doctor that should help though, it seems my anemia (which never, ever resolved during pregnancy and was significantly worse with a great deal of blood loss during the surgery) is still in full-force. Increasing my iron yet again should help in a week or so. Until then, I've just felt so out of it - especially during the days when I'm here by myself. I'm on day 4 or so of the increased dose, so hopefully I'll see results soon.

Hope that iron kicks in soon, but I also hope it doesn't cause any other side effects. ;)

Today we went to Lexington and Concord. We took a 90 minute trolley tour that was very well done! The costumed guide did the entire spiel in first person so I felt as if I was really there with the minutemen and their families. Very enlightening.

Awesome pictures Elin. What a neat trip you all are experiencing!

Yes, bittersweet and roses. Vase is 8 inches - total height is around 22 inches.
Cut the bittersweet? Another "row" of roses above what is already here? I can't put my finger on it either...

ETA: She is going to try to "curl" the bittersweet a little to give it some more umph.

Very unique! Let us know what the curling looks like.

I have a dr.'s appointment tomorrow afternoon. They are going to run all kinds of blood tests. Since Alan's sister had a Down's Syndrome child, and my cousin has a Down's Syndrome child, they are planning on an AFP (alpha feto protein test). I'm not too concerned. They do this with all my pregnancies. It's more for preparation than anything. My doctor knows that I will not terminate should I get a positive result, but I would like time to prepare.

Lots of :wizard: Glynis!

Last Friday I felt like I had a bladder infection starting, but I thought I could take care of it myself. Today I am really paying for that. I called the Dr's office this morning & they set me up to go the hospital & give a urine sample. I check into the out patient & tell them what I am there for. The paper work is filled out & I go to the lab. I give the lady at the desk my paperwork & have a seat. Within a few minutes my named is called. I go in the back & the gal puts the rubber band around my arm. I tell her I did not realize I was having blood drawn. She takes my blood & says that's it. I ask her if she needs a urine sample, she checks the paper work again & says no. So I leave & go to work. The Dr's office calls me about something(my brain is mush at the moment)& I tell them I had blood drawn. Nope this is not what they were suppose to do. Dr's office calls the hospital to see what happened. Get a call back & apparently another person with my last name was to come in for blood work, they had mixed us up :sad2:

I now have my medicine & at the moment I am running a temp of 100. I popped some ibrufrofin(sp), hopefully my temp will drop soon. Sorry for the long story.

Ugh, what an ordeal! I hope you feel better ASAP, Janet! :wizard:

Amy we are doing an Ariel Theme this year

Sounds like fun! :)

Theresa asked me to post this

job news

she did not get the job. and because of other things going on in real life that I can't post right now....it's just too tough.

I was truly hoping this wasn't why we hadn't heard from Theresa. :(

Theresa, please know you are in our thoughts and prayers!!!

Apparently we have some lunatic in a black Honda Prelude going around shooting at other drivers.:scared: I guess I have missed the news the past few days, because it started Sunday. The guy has shot a total of 6 cars now. I don't think he has actually hit any people, but it's just a matter of time. Luckily DH is off the next 2 days. Some of the shootings have been in areas where he drives for work. Maybe they will catch the guy before DH's next shift. :sad2:

We had a maniac like that, a couple years back, shooting people on I-71. He did end up killing someone, but thankfully, he was finally caught. There are way too many crazy people out there!

Tomorrow I am going to clean and then i am headed to the beach for the dayu/night...ill be home sometime thursday---hopefully i can get on my grandmas computer, but not sure

Hope you have fun at the beach!

Well, I guess I'm headed to bed. Terra, Mom and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at Mimi's Cafe courtesy of the thank you gift card for the Disney trip I planned for Rachel's friend's family. I still have plenty left to go at least one more time with just Terra or on a girl's night. Tomorrow we have church camp so I don't have to drive to work, just meet Momboss to get the girls nearby on her way to an appt and then she'll pick them up here after we swim. Since she got holiday/regular visitations aligned I'm off Thurs and Fri since all girls will be with their dads. Yippee! I think Kristi and I are going to take the kids to the zoo and/or to see Wall-E over the next few days. Plus, now I'll have time to help Mom get ready for hosting bunco next week.

Enjoy your days off! :)

Lucy!

This also means I have been at my job for one year, as Lucy was born on my first day at my Girl Scout job.

I just had a realization today that I am leaving Monday for my training in New York. It really snuck up on me.

Scraplifting! Happy Birthday Lucy, and Robyn, I hope you all have a great weekend away!

Happy Anniversary to you, too, Becky!

I had a not so fun day at work today. My boss told me that they are restructuring and I will be reporting to someone else. Unfortunately it is someone I don't respect too much. He's simply not that intellegent but good at kissing up and taking credit for other people's work. I went to bed a while ago but couldn't sleep. I guess I should try again.

I hope you managed to get some sleep. I'm sorry about the change at work, and hopefully it won't be as bad as you think it may be. :wizard:

Yesterday, we walked up to swimming lessons, only to find out they had been cancelled again. I knew it was a chilly morning, so I should have called to confirm, but it worked out fine, because we played in the park for an extra hour and went swimming from 12-2 p.m. when it was definitely warmer.

I ended up cancelling my last doctor's appointment, because I'm feeling fine. Kevin and I were joking last night that Noah is staying put until Friday, because he hears all of his sister's and brother's yelling. :rotfl:

Today, we definitely have swim lessons, followed by more swim time. After naptime, we're going to meet Julie and family for our rescheduled date at Kings Island.

Hope everyone has a good day! :wave2:

Jennifer- Lucy is not walking and she doesn't really walk around the furniture. She will pull up at our coffee table and transfer to the couch and continue this pattern to get where she wants to. But she can't do it along the coffee table or couch by themselves. I did catch her let go once and it was hilarious to watch her realize that she wasn't holding on to anything. Doesn't that just drive you crazy! Terra didn't walk until 15 or 16 months. I walked at about 9 and Phil at 20 so you can see there was no telling where she'd fall. We had a friend in playgroup whose DD was a month older than Terra. Oddly they seemed to hit a lot of milestones within the same week of each other. The other mom was always really pushing for her DD to "beat" Terra to things. (Terra didn't crawl until 11 months either. She was content to barrel roll from place to place until the day it meant she couldn't catch my sister's dog. Then she got up on her knees and took off. ) So when neither was walking by 13 months the mom kicked it up a couple of notches. When her DD did start a few weeks before Terra she didn't stop talking about it. It used to drive my best friend and I crazy.

Cute story though. Remember the WDW commercial with the baby's first steps. Terra's first trip to WDW was at 13 months. My mom joked that maybe she'd walk to Mickey for the first time. A couple of months later Mom and Rachel came to visit and we went to DL. Terra had actually walked once the day before, but when we got to DL she took off to Tigger.

We don't leave until Saturday but there is no way I will be down there! We are seriously thinking about going down tomorrow night for the concert sans fireworks. We will have to see how late we get back from the Cape. Sorry you are a tad homesick but I am glad Terra (and you) are enjoying the pictures.

I did it once and really enjoyed it. Of course, I was perfectly content to get a spot out of view of the hatch shell with a lovely river view and was by myself most of the day. It was a nice read on the riverside and then enjoy the concert and fireworks type of day. Of course, I also didn't get there until about 2 since I didn't need much space. I always wanted to take Terra, but it made Phil to nervous when she was younger. It we'd stayed though I'd have considered it now that she's 5.
