Bernadette - Caution flags were raised in my mind too. I remember that talking to the grandmother didn't do a lot of good last time. I hope you have better luck this year.

Also, both girls have been sleeping all day (literally), so I think we are going to be up all night. I hope it's just the beginning of a growth spurt, and tomorrow they'll be alert a lot more again!

I know we all had those thoughts at the last incident. She'll be 9 in December. Lizzy turned 9 last month. She is a grade behind Lizzy and a grade ahead of Joe. I just realized that they will be in the same school next year but probably won't have too much contact.

Didn't talk to the grandmother last year-she had already moved away for the winter. We didn't allow Lizzy to have any more playdates at the girl's house and none were reqested. She honestly seemed a lot better this year so I was hoping she had grown up a bit. I just don't know what to say to the grandmother. The grandmother and her gentleman friend are VERY nice to the kids. I have to talk to her-we can't just say Lizzy can't play with her and not explain what is going on.

Bernadette. Keep your kids AWAY from that family. It sounds like there is abuse going on in the household with the potential of it happening to your kids. That little girl shouldn't behave that way and the fact that she is coaxing Lizzy to behave in an inappropriate manner is worrysome. I know that you think the Grandmother and he male friend are very nice, but that IS the MO for pedifiles. They must gain the trust of their victims and their families in order to pull off the horrific acts that they do. Maybe I'm wrong, and I hope so, but it is much better to protect your family anyway

Amy - I hope Noah decides this is not the weekend to arrive. However, I predict he will be here sometime this coming week, because Matty was born when we were at the Outer Banks 2 years ago! I figure as long as we are traveling Noah will make his appearance.

We'll see if Noah likes the weekend itinerary: swim lessons, touch a truck, Matty's 2-year portraits, Kings Island with Julie and family, church, neighborhood picnic...

It's going to be 98 degrees here today! Can we all say it together? AIR CONDITIONING!!! I'm trying to come up with something very cool for dinner tonight, but so far, going out to eat sounds the best to me. I think I'll check and see if Wall-E is playing at the drive in theater tonight. If so, we can pick up a pizza on our way to the theater and eat it there. Hmmm, that's an idea!

The kids and I are off in a few minutes. We are hitting the craft store for some "I'm bored" projects. They've been really good about cleaning their rooms every day, and working on summer reading and math projects that I want to reward them. Maybe we'll stop by Sonic and get their 99 cent shakes as a treat today!

Other than that, I'm taking it easy! Laundry is all done (except for Katie's, which she does herself), so I'm feeling ok about taking a day off. Maybe I'll even get to my trip report!

I think you should be doing a little more taking it easy, please, especially if today is another 98 degree day!

I had a lovely visit with Amy, Alyssa and Matthew today! The kids were great, and I think they're really going to love when Baby Noah arrives!

I have to tell you all that Jen is the calmest first-time mother I have ever encountered. I know she's worked with children for most of her life, but wow, she's just amazing! I'll be sure to post some pictures from our visit soon!

On the way home, Alyssa said baby girls are cuter than baby boys.

Before I forget...I've been playing phone tag for a second interview....I hope he answers his phone soon!!

We were just there celebrating BIL's college graduation. It's a lot of fun. Take advantage of the power lunch combo (buy a $15.99 lunch, get a "free" $10 game card). Also, check your Entertainment Book for more game coupons (we blew through our $20 in less than an hour).
