so I may or may not have a broken wrist Right now my thumb is splinted....at the very least I have contused my bone at the most I have a fractured wrist. I got vicodin and an order to come back in a week when the swelling has gone down. He took pity on me and ordered the vicodin when I told him it was my writing hand

Oh no!! Did they give you an xray to be sure?

You will... eventually. There are those "years" yo have to suffer through, unfortunately. Kristin just said I was very "uncool" when she was 11-14 or 15.

Oh, great! Those are the years we are starting. I have to laugh, though. We had the 5th grade girl's maturation program a few weeks ago, and ever since then, whenever she's in a bad mood she blames it on puberty. Alan was trying to reason with her one night, and she said, "I'm having a mood swing, ok?" If it wasn't so annoying, it would seriously make me laugh!

This is not good, Theresa! Take care of that wrist!!! Thank heaven for vicodin! I'll pray for a contusion and not a break!

Well... not the outcome I was hoping to hear, but at least you have something to help the pain, Theresa. I hope the swelling goes down soon and the pain goes away quickly too. Not a good thing to have your writing hand out of commission!

Jen - Sounds like your cruise is just amazing. An old friend and his wife just got back from a cruise to Alaska and showed me pictures tonight at their granddaughter's recital. Just gorgeous!

4...and 3 were clear and one had what may have been the start of a fracture....he'll know better next week. He's the best bone doctor in the building and other than not gettting my joke about the laundry fighting dirty was very thorough and I liked him.

Did they not xray it? I don't understand why they won't know for a week if it's broken or not.

ETA: I guess I should have kept reading. Well, enjoy the vicodin!

Well I hope its not fractured & you are not in pain.

hopefully the 2nd vicodin takes affect soon!! I have a high threshold for pain but this is ridiculous!!!

My parents went on an Alaskan cruise several years ago. After seeing their pictures, the thing that surprised me most was that there wasn't snow. You really have to travel inland to find the snow.

Did they not xray it? I don't understand why they won't know for a week if it's broken or not.

with the three clear xrays and one "iffy" he would have let it go if I had handled the manual/visual exam okay. The only place that I am swollen and it still really hurts is where "iffy" xray was. So to get a clearer xray the swelling has to be down. He didn't want to cast it for a month if it truly doesn't need it.

Undo a wire coat hanger. Or use a knitting needle.
