No, it isn't.

I am roomless for the night of the 4th and my parents are roomless for the nights of 3, 4 and 5. Nothing available anywhere for all of those nights, in a studio or a 2 br. I can get a 2 br at OKW for the nights of the 3rd and 5th. Then I was going to book that and waitlist for the night of the 4th, while keeping my ressies at the studios as well as staying on the waitlist for that. Then he told me that I couldn't double book, that the system would recognize it and cancel. But I know I've done that before. I don't know what I'm going to do. They didn't even have the night of the 4th available for cash.

Pretty sure we are doing the party on the 4th, same as you all!

I think 4 nights is great for a 1st time cruise. We did that to see if we would really like it. Katie is petrified of water (on a boat) & I thought it would be an issue as she likes to be a drama queen. However it was not. The only decks you are at a railing with water are 4 & 9, 10 (I think thats it) well anyway you could stay away from the railings on most decks so you only see the water thru a porthole. Right now, we have no days set because I have to wait for August to see how much we have form that. We have never taken 2 huge Disney trips in one year as a family so next year may be a budget trip at the world...but I always have my eye on the prices & dates just in case!

Can you book the 4th as a room only through CRO? I know, expensive, but it gives you a back-up just in case nothing else works. Then you could cancel the studios, waitlist for the 2 br. at OKW, and also watch for AP rates in case you can't get it with points you might be able to knock some off the price that way. Right now the AP rates for studios at SSR are cheaper than the cash price with the DVC discount, so it isn't always better to go through DVC.

I really need to sort out this fishing excursion dilemma. They run excursions out of SSR, but people say you won't catch as many fish there. It is better to go out of the Contemporary or WL. Soooo...
I guess I can try to book out of WL and plan to take a cab over there. And depending on AP rates we MIGHT actually end up doing a few nights there instead of the pool view room at AKL we have booked now. The darn thing is booked at rack rate, so my plan is to switch to whatever room I can get with a discount to bridge between the 2 DVC ressies. It would just be easier to move from a room at AKL to a villa as opposed to moving from WL to AKV. Hmm. I wonder if I can get a AAA discount on a room at WL for those dates?

I have never been. Have you ever gone to the LBJ Library?
It is part of the National Archives "system" and is probably a very good representation of what to expect. Although there is probably something to be gleaned from a trip to the NA in DC, I would think there are enough other things going on in that lovely city that you could probably skip that part of your itinerary.

Speaking of your trip to DC.... how did I miss that you were headed this way with your family??? What are the particulars? I have a couple of days off in the next few weeks and Kristin and I were planning to head up there for some museum fixes. Maybe we could work something out.

That was what I was learning towards as far as the archives -- there are a lot of other things to see, so I think we'll scratch that. I haven't talked about the trip much -- just when I talked about the last one to DC that was for work. We'll be arriving June 15 and departing on the 21st. We are hoping to see the Rangers play the Nationals on the 20th. It's my family, plus my brother's family. I've love to see anyone around, but I know how hard it is for you guys to get to the city.

So you are on the 7 nighter, departing Aug. 1?

I haven't been to Archives for probably about 20 years. The Magna Carta was touring and it was there. I would say nay for the kids. It would be nice for about 5 minutes, seeing the Declaration, etc. There are a lot of diaries of different historical figures that are displayed. Everything is under glass. That's really about all I can remember.

Yes -- I'm on a 7 night. That's what we did the first few times and we were spoiled. We were very disappointed when we did the 4 night last year, as it seemed so rushed, but you don't have the longer one to gauge it on. I think the shorter one would be good for a starting point -- I'm just still trying to talk someone in to going on the same one as we're on. Randy was not too hip on cruising when I first mentioned it... and that was 8 cruises ago...

Definitely do WDW then the cruise. It's much better that way. I'm sure Chanon will be a great resource -- they say it's cheaper to book them separately, then a Land/Sea, but I'm sure she can work some of that magic and get you good pricing!

I have been talking to the boys & they really want to do this! I will definetly book the land & sea seperatly, I am thinking two nights before the cruise & one night after so we don't have to go directly to the airport from the cruise.

I am relentless. ALWAYS planning. And it doesn't help that I am off and I have nothing else to occupy my time. Well, there is all that laundry, but who wants to do that?

Soooo...
I booked fishing for 8/10. But we may end up staying at SSR on 8/10. I booked WL for 8/10 - 8/14, then I called back and switched fishing to 8/12. Now I can cancel the night of 8/10 or 8/13 at WL depending on what happens with the DVC waitlist. No AAA discount, but hopefully I can get an AP rate. If I can't get an AP rate we'll have to rethink this, because I do NOT want to pay rack rate! We may end up back at AKL and have to take a cab to WL! But at least it won't be a day we're trying to switch resorts.

Can't say I have ever had one who hums. I tend to agree with Lizzy that it would drive me bonkers in the car!

Good thing we won't be driving together at WDW but she does hum on the Disney busses too.

She's in Nature Camp now that preschool is over. She goes in the morning instead of afternoons and stays for lunch. She doesn't have any kids from her preschool class with her. But her teacher says she's doing great!!! She's grown up so much in the last year.

I know there is more that I've missed but I've got to run. It's Field Day. Emma woke up telling me that her ear is "copying her", which more than likely means she has an ear infection. She says she still wants to go. I guess if it's bothering her later we will visit the urgert care. Lucy had a fever of 102 yesterday but is otherwise acting normal. I am hoping and praying that it's her teeth. When will it end? You ought to see all the medicine dispensers in the dishwasher!

Have a great day and I will chat later. But before I go here are the 2 cakes I did yesterday. The rainbow one I took to Brownies and everyone loved it. My neighbor down the street said she was going to put up a sign in my yard to bring in some business! It was chocolate with buttercream.

We've love any pixie dust you can spare for Rachel though. She went to the zoo with the youth group yesterday and was good yesterday afternoon. Then around 5 she started complaining of a sore throat and that her head hurt. By 9 it was a 100 fever, 102.5 at midnight and 103.5 at 6am. Not sure what's going on as she says her throat feels better and she feels fine otherwise We're not leaving until about 3:30 so hopefully she'll feel better before then.

Hope it goes away as fast as it came!!!!

Packing, Tia, packing! Get off the phone with Disney and move it. Okay, gotta run for real this time.

I got great news! My parents have finally given me the for our December trip. So now it is official. Me, Bob, the 3 kids, his sister and adult niece, and my parents. Nothing is moving on my OKW waitlist though. I'm getting nervous. I'm ready to make my ADR's on Tues. We are going to do Tusker for dinner, probably Mama Melrose or maybe Primetime. Haven't been too impressed with the antics at PT the past 2 times though. Coral Reef (try to get diver for Nicholas' bday), LTT the night of MVMCP and Hoop Dee Doo. I'll let Nicholas pick where he wants to eat on his bday. That will be our project for Sunday evening.

A coworker of mine is going to WDW 12/4 to 12/7 and can't get a DVC studio anywhere on points. She's going to make a reservation elsewhere (maybe Poly?) just to be safe.

He was so nice! I can see how he make the whole place feel like your going home.

Emma is growing way to fast! She must be going through a growth spurt. I went through her drawers a month or so ago and none nothing fits again. I took stuff out of Joe's drawers that he was wearing a few weeks ago and it fits her. I'm glad summer's coming cause shorts are so much easier then pants.
