DDA Chapter 7

Look at it as a real estate transaction....when I write up a contract, I still take the down payment at that point. The contract is contingent on your ability to obtain financing...the funds will just sit in an escrow account. Although, intimidating...it is standard procedure.

We've never owned real estate, which is why we are so freaked out.

So I send in a 10% down payment, they cash it, and they hold on to it. If we get turned down for the loan they give back our down payment?

I am also looking at these laon papers and just cringing. We're going to need a separate sheet pf paper if they want us to list all of our credit accounts because there are only TWO lines. Sorry folks, we have more than 2 credit cards with balances! Oh, yes, now I see where it says about using a separate sheet of paper.

Now I am really questioning if this is a good idea. But I am also questioning if I have passed some sort of point of no return where I will be in trouble if I call tomorrow and tell then we just can't go through with it.

Well I had a very nice Mom's day. I got some cute homemade gifts that the kids made in school, a necklace that Bob helped the kids get, and tix to The Lion King at the Kennedy Center in July. Then we went out to dinner. It is pooring here, so we sat inside all day and I showed Bob and the kids Anne Marie's pictures and TR. Bob then went to DCL's website and downloaded the e-brochure. We sat around watching the ad videos for the cruise. The kids want to go, I want to go and I think Bob is interested too!

sounds like a lovely day... glad you were indoors. The never-ending rain is just lousy! :sad2:

ETA: Remind me of this comment if and when we have water rationing again this summer...

Ive been sitting here watching PS I love you...such a good , sad, movie.
I also got all my toiletries together for the trip--next weekend is packing :)

take a breath and relax....

yes...they will cash the check....yes, you will get it back should you not qualify for financing...

all loan applications stink...that's just the way it is. don't get hung up on it...just go line by line.

lastly, no, you are not past the point of no return...you can call tomorrow and change your mind...you could call a week later and change your mind. by law there is a cooling off period...

but...prices won't go lower....loan applications will always be tedious....and most likely, you will always second guess yourself....

so again, take a deep breath

I had an unusual, but lovely Mother's Day too. I slept in (close your dropped jaws, everyone) and had kolache for breakfast. We have a new Czech bakery in our area so Kristin and I stopped there on our way home yesterday. Pretty close to what my MIL makes!

Kathrin called and we talked and when Kristin woke up we went to VA Runner and were both fitted for new running shoes. I have about worn mine out over the past year so it was past time. I got a pair of Nike's much like the ones I already had, but these have the coolest innovation...

Under the insole of the left shoe is a small removable oval foam insert. You replace it with this:

and then you put your iPod Nano in this armband:

Then you choose the kind of workout you want, the music you wish to walk/run to and start. It will monitor progress and give spoken feedback! Progress can be logged in at www.nikeplus.com

I hope the weather improves soon because I want to play with my shoes.

Kristine - All very valid points. I will think on it a bit, but we may end up waiting. Prices won't go lower, that's true. But if we wait we can pay off some other things and then we would be able to pay more up front on the DVC.
We paid more for each of our cars than this DVC contract is worth, so I don't get why the application for credit is so much more extensive. They are going to pull our credit anyway, so WHY do I have to list our accounts? And it says the interest rates are only valid until May 31. Loan approval is only valid for 60 days, so when January rolls around we'll have to re-apply for the loan. I think that January closing is NOT good after all!

Elin - Your shoes are as complicated as this DVC paperwork! :rotfl2: I hope you can get out and enjoy them soon!

Elizabeth...you will know when the time is right for you....

just don't let the process stop you...because that won't get any less tedious and I would hate to see you not do it, because of that :)

Also, maybe the bank that TSS uses requires more paperwork

Well said, Tammi. My hat is off to you. I don't know how you get it all done. :goodvibes

I agree. :goodvibes

We had a grand time at the party yesterday!! It wasn't how Jim or I envisioned Cassidy's 16th to be but she enjoyed it.

We did have a "yikes" moment in the morning....as you all might remember I bought Cassidy necklace way back in January...well we took it out yesterday morning and it was tangled so badly it broke:eek: So we had to run and find a new necklace for the pendant (didn't want to send the whole thing off for the 2-3 week repair we paid for).

The girls loved their presents.....Abi's photo collage was the hit of the party and Cassidy was almost in tears with her present.

I'm so glad it went well.

Stay safe! Do you all have those edible arrangements out there. They are carved fruit baskets made to look like flowers. Delicious! http://www.ediblearrangements.com/

Tammi - how big are the ediblearrangements things? There are just the 4 of us who will be in the hotel next weekend. I don't want to skimp but I don't want a lot of fruit left over either!

We love these! Our store has three sizes, and I usually get the medium so Randy can share it with his co-workers.

Beth -- they put the baskets in clear wrap bags with bows and ribbon at the top. They are still hard to transport without bruising the fruit, especially the big ones.

Kristine -- sorry about your back.

Elizabeth -- If anyone can conquer a contrat, it's you. Kristine gave you great advice, as usual. One line at a time... I hope you get more news on your Mom from her doctor's ASAP.

I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day! :)

Glad everything went well for the girls birthdays!

Janet, is that December trip new or have I been clueless?

What wonderful news :woohoo:

Aidan Update...

Short and sweet and go into more details later as well as post video, but OUR BOY HEARS AGAIN!

Last week Mya told her Equine Therapist how proud she was of her little brother for riding with her, and one day he would hear her say that to him.

Well TODAY was that day! Just typing this brings tears to my eyes...

I just wanted to pop in for a minute and wish everyone a Very Happy Mother's Day (before it's too late)

I hope everyone has had a wonderful day. I certainly have. The girls had already given me their presents from school earlier in the week when they brought them home so I got lots and lots of hugs and kisses. Nothing better than that :goodvibes

Emma's soccer team won their first game today, 3-2 :cool1: :cool1: After the game we had everyone over for dinner. It went well but I am exhausted.

We are on flood watch as the water is inching closer and closer to our basement, it's gonna be a long night. Eric is worried that the winds will do more to cause flooding than the actual amount of rain itself. It is miserable here and I hope this rain stops soon.

Have a good evening and I will check back in tomorrow.
