So my good weekend, is over and it is a not so happy Monday.

So I thought I was going to be taking my test this morning. The professor did not provide me with the test questions. Also turns out my paper from last week disappeared into the black hole in the internet sky. The paper is on my laptop which I loaned to a friend to use this weekend and a few days this week since I was gone. So now I must either rewrite the paper or try to get them to email it to me. This on top of the fact I have no questions for a test, I thought I was taking. I do not have time to rewrite the paper and take the test. I am so livid right now, I just want to jump into a pool and swim away. I am sure the professor now thinks I am a crock who is losing their mind.

 :headache: :scared1: :sad1: :scared:

I guess I am off to work. Who knows what is going to happen with this class now. I might fail it now. I hope that I calm down on my drive there. Although I am seriously tempted to climb back in bed on this crappy rainy, damp day. I just want out of this class purgatory.

Thanks for listening. Sorry to be so negative all the time. Have a great day everyone. I think we need lots of :grouphug: :wizard: :wizard:  around here.:cool1: :rotfl2: :happytv: :rotfl: :goodvibes :dance3: :yay: :cool2: :cheer2: :flower3: :cutie:

Well I didn't sleep well at all last night. I'm so upset over my schedule. The owner has backed himself into a corner since he keeps hiring thinking that we will get busier, but we don't. The newest waitstaff get a token one night to string them along. The problem is that a token night for them takes shifts away from the rest of us. The other problem is that he schedules by seniority. While I originally started there in 1992 I did not start waitressing until 14 months ago which puts me way down on the seniority list. When I agreed to waitress he made lots of promises which he isn't keeping. He even tells me that if anyone needs to give up a shift I'm first on the list. Turns out he tells anyone that didn't get enough shifts the same thing :headache: Obviously we need to have a heart to heart and that is what I had on my mind all night. I haven't decided if I'll go in to talk with him tonight or if I'll wait until my shift tomorrow night. All I know is that 2 good nights won't pay for vacation and the nights that I got are the worst 2 possible :headache:
Good luck in handling this Deb, however you decide. :wizard:

I'm so sorry Becky. I hope you can get this all sorted out. Sounds like you really need a break.

Good morning, DDA!!

We had a nice weekend camping. As I mentioned, it was a little cold at night in the tents, but otherwise quite nice. Terra had a ball and was in heaven being able to roam around the open area by our tents, throw sticks into the creek, play in the mud, chase butterflies and climb up into the wooded slope behind our site. She really is a nature girl at heart.

Phil is doing better. He still feels a little queasy, but, at least over the weekend, he wasn't feeling as weak. Hopefully that won't return after working today. We're still waiting for an appt with the GI dr, but the ulcer diagnosis seems pretty accurate so far and the meds are helping that. He's feeling better enough and thankful enough for my help though that he's said that he owes me something. I'm thinking that means I get to go see Made of Honor this weekend or early next week like I was hoping.

It's a kid-full day around here so I guess I'm not doing too much. Robin called needing an emergency babysitter for the day so I have two of hers. Apparently her cousin didn't come back from Kentucky last night, but never called to tell her. About the time these two leave, Kristi will bring hers over for her last night of class. After that, Erin is bringing Kaylin to spend the next two nights as she has a business trip early tomorrow through Wed. It's crazy I tell you! ;) We do get to go to the baseball game tomorrow though so I'm happy about that. And somewhere in there I may actually get a shower ;) (since Rachel ran out the hot water twice yesterday thus I haven't showered from camping yet  ). It's time for Keira's nap though so I've got my fingers crossed that this is my chance! :rotfl:

At his lesson today Patrick let me know that a video he and his parish submitted for the Papal visit was one of the finalists. He wrote the music for it and plays on it too. What an honor to have had it chosen over hundreds and hundreds of submittals from all over the country!

Congrats to him and congrats to you -- he has the best teacher!

And I found out myBob was watching the show tonight, again without any prompting from me. When I commented to him about it he said that it could come back to bite me in the butt, as with all this new-found knowledge he is gaining I will have to relinquish some control. :scared1: What is that man thinking?!?!?!

Ah yes. Let him do some of the work, then change everything to the way you know it will work best!

Umm, NO! :scared: But, that's what I have the weekend for! :thumbsup2

I am a little nervous - won't go into all the details tonight because I'm wine sleepy, but my brother is going to join us for a couple of days. I'll need a LOT of PD for that!

Lots of :wizard: :wizard: for no rain for you too!

Have fun!

Elin - meant to say congrats to Patrick! What an accomplished young man!

Elizabeth - meant to say earlier the website re: airline seats/ameninities Uncle is referring to is www.seatguru.com. Love that site. I always make sure we have seats with power for our longer flights!

Night all! Catch you on the flip side!

PD for your trip and for the visit with your brother. I hope y'all have a magical trip!

I thought it was hilarious that nobody managed to stay more than 4 nights. I found it interesting how EMPTY some of the shots were - like the safari vehicle, one of the long views at MK, Disney Quest, etc. The family at Lion King were sitting in handicapped seating. At one point the commentator said at COUNTER service you can get all-you-can-eat. Trail's End isn't COUNTER service. I was blown away that people with 4 nights at WDW are spending thier time renting a pontoon boat and playing frisbee. Don't they have a frisbee AT HOME? I just don't get that mentality. I fell asleep shortly after the kids jumping on the beds. I'll have to watch Sunday.

Thanks!

How wonderful!

Ditto! I hope the new attendant works out!

Uncle1 said the Geek Squad guy is trying to scare me. He said we won't have any problem setting up a secure network. :)
We turned the laptop on just to see if any of our neighbors have a network that would show up, but they don't. Which means it must be easier to secure it than Geek Squad wants me to think it is.
The Geek Squad guy had some sort of device. He said the device detects open networks, and from there the device would allow him to log on to any machine connected to that network. YIKES! Obviously if he has one then there are bound to be people other than Geek Squad employees who have them and can use them for ID theft. I don't think the laptop will have anything on it worth hacking. I am more nervous about connecting my desktop to the wireless network.

Congrats on the new laptop!

BTW -- if the family at FOTLK was sitting in the very first row (barely fits four people) that is where they put the families that are on VIP tours.

Yes, we did have wonderful weather. I can't believe there wasn't a drop of rain, and the skies were blue. Stupid weatherpeople!

Mass was beautiful. I am so proud of my little man. The cookout went off without a hitch, and the kitchen is cleaned up. I will try to post some pictures a little later. Thanks for all the :wizard:. It sure helped!

I'm so glad everything went well. What a beautiful family picture. Thank you for sharing!

Robyn - you did an awesome job on the cake. I can't believe how grown-up Molly is looking. I think she is starting to look more and more like Emma.

I agree! And that cake was amazing. :worship:

I just went to oriental trading and ordered a bunch of stuff for the 4th of July. I needed things to decorate the golf cart and I bought the kids some fun things for the day. We will not do a park that day, but will be in the golf cart parade, go to the Richard Petty Driving Experience and end the day with the dessert fireworks cruise. I thought patriotic light up necklaces and bracelet would be fun :thumbsup2

I always buy my 4th stuff from them as well. My Mom and Dad always had the best time decorating their golf cart. OC has a bunch of inexpensive things. Sounds like you guys will have a blast. You are going to do the three lap ride along, aren't you? It was so much fun.

I think Emma might have a mild case of the chicken pox.:scared1: She had what looked like a few bug bites yesterday low on her belly. I took Joe with me early this morning to go outlet shopping. Emma must have complained to DH because her a bath when she woke up. A while after I got home I had Emma try on something I bought her and noticed she has spots on her shoulders and thighs too. I guess we'll have to take her to the doctor tomorrow and get it checked out. What I've read says she should be all better in about 1 week which would be the day before we're set to fly.:scared1: She had been vaccinated but didn't get the booster you get before Kindergarten yet.

I hope you get the answers you are looking for and she gets better ASAP!

Hello everyone

Sounds like everyone has been busy shopping or cleaning today!

This afternoon was quite stressful with the visitation & I know tomorrow will only be worse :sad1: Mary & I just held each other & she kept telling me that all she wants is to talk to Matt to tell him that she loves him. Lord I pray that I never have to go through this & I pray for strength for Mary.

I did get my hair cut & I love it! It is a little shorter than I was wanting, but that seems to always happen. I told her to cut off just a little bit at a time & I would tell her when to stop. Well the 1st cut was a big one & when I seen my hair drop to the floor, this was me :scared1: There was no little cuts :rotfl:

I think I will be going to Disney hatless this time ;) Picture coming up!

Sending PD and prayers to Mary and her family, and to you. I know she must feel lucky grateful to have you helping to support her now.

Just a reminder this was the length:

Here is the new length:

Excuse my face, my make up is a little messed up from today:

100_0536-1.jpg

My forehead looks really big in this picture :rotfl:

Love it! And your forehead doesn't look big.

Im headed to bed..i have the interview tomorrow and my voice is still a bit crazy

have a great night all

Good luck with the interview!

I am exhausted. Another big but fun day. Alyssa's bday party was a lot of fun, and we had a good turnout. Then it was time to come home and play with all of the presents. I need to go back to work tomorrow so I can get some rest!

I'm so glad it went well! I know you must be so relieved to have the parties behind you.

I really need to get my butt in gear and stop the weight creep. It is only a few pounds but if I do not watch it I will not fit in my clothing. All of these events and lack of having a consistent eating pattern are really throwing me for a loop. I have two events yet this week.

I have to take my test tomorrow before 5pm. It is a 3 hour block of time. It is open book, but I do not feel ready for it at all. I also have to go into work. Although I probably worked my hours over the weekend, I am supposed to go in everyday.

I am now watching Desperate Housewives. I should head to bed soon.

It is so difficult when you can't eat at home to better control portions etc. Hang in there -- you know you can do it. With the support on here I've almost lost all of the 9 pounds I had gained since January. I think there are several of us still trying to lose, so let us help send you some motivation. :wizard:

Can I tell you all how much I HATE dealing with airlines????? Alan bought 4 tickets to London on December 17 of last year. We booked the flight that we wanted, seats that we wanted, etc. It was done and we weren't going to have to worry about it. Well, we received a confirmation on December 18, so I've been checking periodically to make sure our departure times don't change (at least too much). Well, during our Spring Break, Alan was checking on them and noticed that instead of flying from Salt Lake to Newark then Newark to Heathrow, 3 of the tickets were the same, but one (for a minor child) was scheduled from SL to Houston, Houston to JFK, JFK to Gatwick!!! Not acceptable at all!

Alan called the airline and got the run around. He was finally able to leave a voice mail, and we've been waiting to hear back. Yesterday, he got a message on his voice mail from the airline, saying there is a problem with the tickets, and he needs to call ASAP!

He called last night at 5:00 and was told that Continental had CANCELLED THE FLIGHT 2 WEEKS AGO. We were not informed by email, phone call, postcard, etc. Nothing!!! So, from 5:00 until 7:00 last night, Alan was talking to Delta to try to work this out. At first, they wanted to put us on a flight that would get us from SL to Newark, then we'd have a 20 hour layover until a flight to Heathrow. NOT ACCEPTABLE! By the time he got off the phone, he had us booked on a flight from SL to JFK (red-eye), then we get upgraded to first class from JFK to Heathrow! Coming home, we are nonstop from Heathrow to SL with the possibility of first class.

Phew!!! We now have hard copies of the tickets tucked neatly away with my passport! I'm just glad that we had been checking periodically. It would have been horrible to show up on June 1st and be told there was no available flight for 3 days!

What a mess. I'm glad Alan was able to get everything straightened out, and for the better. I've been having similar problems with AT&T and trying to upgrade my phone. I've probably spent 12 hours attempting to do this, and still don't have a phone. They said they had FedEx'd it for Saturday delivery, but I didn't get it. I'm sure not holding my breath that it will be delivered today, either.

Oh my heavens, you were chatty! I need to go back and find Chapter 6 to catch up and then get through all the pages here, too.

We had a synchro meet to go to yesterday about 3 hours from here in Albany. It was the qualifier for the May meet in Andover, Mass. I am thrilled to say that Laura's team took 1st place in their age group and is moving on! I am disappointed to say that Laura's duet didn't have their best swim yesterday and took 4th place out of 7. They needed 3rd to move on. She was disappointed, too, but saw the silver lining of having more time to practice figures and team. I haven't seen the official figure scores, but I think she had a good figure day, too, though she wasn't in the top 8 (nor were we expecting anything close to that).

I need to get some kids out the door, and then I will have a few minutes to start catching up.

I probably won't be around too much this week, because we have an open house at preschool which translates into a lot of extra work for me.

Have a great day, DDA!!!

Congrats to Laura and the team!

picked one out... waiting to hear why there is a price difference between the one I drove and the one I want. It was fresh off the truck and still wrapped in plastic when I got there yesterday, so I drove a different one. This is a very cool dealership to deal with, so far. Apparently their internet quotes are close to rock bottom and there has been no hassle so far. I have a couple of questions for the salesman and if they can "round out" the final price then we probably have a deal. I will let you know!

Sounds relatively painless. I hope it continues that way.

I agree. And since I started busing tables in 1992 that must make me the most senior in that department. I've decided that if I can't get wait shift I will insist on getting bus shifts to make up the difference which should totally screw up his scheduling. I'm thinking a little leverage might go a long way. I hate to play dirty as it is not my style, but forced into a corner what's a girl to do?

You aren't playing dirty. You do have seniority, and in my opinion, that should be across the board.

We're only going to have a high of 55 today, but I'll take that over the white stuff Vicki and Theresa were talking about over the weekend. I think we'll still walk to ballet.

Hope everyone is having a great morning! :goodvibes

me too!!:lmao:

We are getting up to 70 today and higher until Wednesday (then maybe snow for the first of May:headache: )

AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! What a start to your day, Becky! I hope that your friend can email you the paper ASAP and get that settled. As for the test, I hope it gets straightened out and that you fly through it! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Thank you all so much for the PD and good wishes for Andrew. I know they are helping. He make the catch of the game in the first game Saturday, and that's helping with his fielding confidence. He still has a long way to go with hitting -- he hit several balls, but they were right to someone so they either caught the ball or threw him out at first. He had great hits Friday night in rec ball, so we just need to work on his confidence when he's playing select teams. He's also having a problem with pitching. He won't through it fast because he's scared he'll hit someone. If he doesn't get faster, they won't pitch him again. Their team did won both games on Saturday, and the games yesterday were rained out. They seed the games by the results on Saturday, so we won the tournament. He had a great time with the boys -- we cooked out after the second game, and then they went swimming at the hotel. They went swimming again yesterday morning after they called the tournament. We'll be headed to Waco again at the end of May.

Jake's team lost their soccer game on Saturday, but he played well. We then hightailed it down to Waco, but I missed the first game and Andrew's good catch. Oh well. I'll ask for more spare PD before the next tournament, as I know the prayers and PD are helping.

No baseball games this week, as the local schools are taking TAKS tests. We'll just have soccer and baseball practices, so I'm looking forward to a break and will hopefully get some clean out down of closets/toys.

Have a great day everyone! :)

Glad you had fun. I hope Phil continues feeling better.

Now off to work!

Congrats to Andrew on the great catch! I know the rest will improve soon.

I promise I read....I should have multiquoted....it just went in my head and straight out so I'll send some  and :wizard: out to everybody.

Janet-I will be thinking of you and the family today for the funeral.

So, one of the mom's on the camping trip is the one I'm helping plan their WDW trip. We talked about a few things this weekend and I think I've finalized their plans for the most part. It is pretty heavy on meals, but even this is a cut back on the list of places they gave me to begin with. Anyone see anything I might change on this schedule? Their list of must-dos isn't long except at MK. However, most should be easily accomplished in two mornings with at least one being a rope drop, though both if possible. They may end up dropping some food places along the way depending on how the 12yo feels, but that's the area that their plans are most ambitious.

For anyone who's been. Is Sea World doable and then back to Epcot for a 6:00 meal?

Good morning...

You all have been super chatty.

Janet- Prayers for strength and peace today. I love your hair.

Becky- I am sorry that life is upside down right now.

Jen- Good luck on the interview :wizard:

Bernadette- I hope Emma's case is very mild and doesn't impact your trip. Love the clothes!

Glynis- I am so glad that you and Alan managed to get the flights straightened out. :wizard: that they stay the way they are.

Tia- I am glad Phil is feeling better. Your weekend sounds lovely, well except for the cold part!

Deb- I hope you can get your work situation straightened out. When you find the perfect job let me know ;)

Elin- Hope the deal goes through quickly and you are looking way cool in your new car soon!

Marci- Congrats to Andrew on a well played tournament. Yay for Jake playing well. Continued :wizard:

Amy- Can't wait to see pics of Jack! Enjoy those Webkinz! Molly and Alyssa are looking so grown up, now only if mine would act it ;) Molly smiled and was thrilled to see Alyssa and Fancy Nancy this morning.

Beth- Congrats to Laura on her swimming meet.

Tammi- Glad Alyssa's party was a success. Can't wait for pics.

I know I missed a bunch,'s and :wizard: . We were on the go yesterday late yesterday morning into the afternoon. Emma lost her soccer game, although that is nothing new. They have 3 girls that have not showed up for the last 5 or 6 practices or the last 3 games. But their parents will not officially pull the girls from the team. There are girls that want to play that are waitlisted but can't until they pull them. Just another saga in this never ending soccer season. On the upside, Emma is playing well- she plays the entire game with no break. And she is enjoying it. So in the end that's what matters.

When we got home we worked on putting away our laundry piles. And we had to get all of Mo's new toys put away in her room and the playroom before the 3 Destructo's arrived this morning. Eric and I also managed to do some other cleaning and decluttering which was good.

Thanks everyone for the compliments on the cake. :goodvibes It was really easy and it turned out pretty close to the picture I had in my head.

And before I go here is Lucy from this morning. This was her first scrambled egg, I think more of it ended up on her face and in her hair then in her tummy.

I would think Sea World is doable as long as they get there close to opening. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!!

Here are some (ok, a lot) of pictures from the birthday party. I'm thinking maybe I should have Alyssa in gymnastics instead of ballet! I got the cake from Wal-mart, so don't think I'm a master decorator like Amy or Robyn.

Congrats to him and congrats to you -- he has the best teacher!

 that just made me smile because that is exactly what he says. :goodvibes Thanks, Marci.

Hope AT&T comes through for you.

Sounds like your week could have a little more down time for you, Marci. :)

I love the pics, looks like a lot of fun! The picture I quoted doesn't even look like Alyssa. And she is looking so grown up too! That is the same cake my niece had, it was yummy and very cute!
