DDA Chapter 5

Good morning, DDA!!! Good to see you all!! We had a great time with our company here, but then spent part of the last two days trying to rid the computer of some trojan horses. I think the girls and their MySpace activities inadvertently infected the computer (loading an application, not MySpace itself). But, I'm bad now and caught up!

I missed a few pages over the weekend, but went back to scan for Easter pictures and then read from there. Sounds like a large dose of :wizard: is needed for some, plus friends and family. You all remain in my prayers daily.

We had beautiful weather on Thurs and Fri for our trips to the Arch and zoo. The zoo was a lot of fun and the kids really enjoyed it.

Easter Sunday dawned with snow flurries followed by crazy snow showers. It was never enough to mess with the roads, but it did coat (and then melt and then coat again) the yard a few times. Of course, this is the dress that I had made for Terra the day before and she didn't have a sweater to go with it. So, we wore sandles with no socks/tights, a sun dress and a winter coat to church.

After church we went to Ponderosa for lunch as the pizza places all seemed to be closed thus thwarting our plans to order pizza before the OK gang hit the road. The last two days were just spent getting the house back in order and caugt up on emails, posts, etc. (Okay so Monday I was lazy, but yesterday was spent on those things. :thumbsup2 )

I hope that everyone had wonderful Easters and that all are doing well.

Terra looks adorable, great job! I think a lot of us had sleeveless dresses and coats on that day! :goodvibes

Tia - loved your pictures! Sounds like you all had a great weekend. :)

Janet - :yay: for ME vouchers!

Thanks, Elin! That's what i was trying to determine.

So we would have 3 adults for 7 nights, 63 TS credits total. Even if I add more ADRs we would be pretty hard pressed to use 21 credits apiece. DH thinks he is up for the challenge.
If we use 6 for CS and do all the rest TS we could use all 21, but we're not likely to eat a buffet breakfast, a CS lunch, and a TS dinner on 4 days out of 7. I would look like a cartoon character after they have a garden hose shoved in their mouth and they fill up with water. Or like Violet in Willy Wonka. :rotfl2:

The 14 snacks per person would be bottled water and ice cream. ;)

no interest in signature restaurants?

::yes:: it can be. But we are doing signature restaurants every night of our stay so that will use up 16 of our 24 TS credits just for 4 dinners alone.

I may have to look at that for Cassidy's graduation trip...have I told you all the girls are already planning what we are doing and when??? My girls are so funny

I love it! How fun to have someone to help in the planning, Theresa. How many sleeps before you go? :rolleyes1

can you all tell that nobody is at work today??:rotfl:

Seriously...only one other person is here (other than my volunteer) and my work is so easy that I am having fun talking to you all!!

We just in from the Dr's. Sophie tested negative for strep & ear infections so the Dr just thinks its viral. She is in great spirits today which was not the case yesterday.

Yesterday she was dizzy & in a fog which scared me. She wanted BK for lunch so I treated her to that & now she is laying down watching t.v. Thank you for all your well wishes.:goodvibes

MY MIL's appointment went well. Dana took a half vacation day just to take her to the Dr. as she was complaining yesterday that she had no one to take her (call a cab lady!

) Anyway.....So he takes her & once in the office she goes on & on to the staff that she hates to ask her kids to drive her everywhere & we consider her a burden.  :headache: After the Dr. (they think she has an infection but nothing serious thankfully) she goes on & on to Dana in the car about how great his older brother is

& that when she thought she was "really" sick how she was going to leave the older brother all her jewelry. I just give up with her!!! I do not want or need anything from her but why does she say things like that to him???

Dana is such a good son to her & she just doesn't see it. :sad2: She's an

I am glad Sophie and MIL are relatively okay.

I am sorry your MIL is a pill...I love your censored smiley!!:lmao:

Anne Marie - I'm so sorry your MIL is treating Dana this way! We go through the same thing with Alan's mother. She is the queen of guilt, and is always telling Alan how great Scott is with her, or Carrie, or Jami or any of the other children. She tells Alan that he needs to step up his involvement with her or she won't be leaving him anything in her will. Geez, lady, do you really think we want all your thrift store garbage????? Anyway, it makes me so angry! Alan is the one who deals with her finances, fixes her computer, deals with her landlord when she is in lease violation, but "he does nothing for her!" I just keep my mouth closed and give Alan a place to vent! Luckily, he knows her well, and lets it all slide off his back. Hopefully, Dana can do that, too! I'm here if you need to vent. Believe me, I have heard it all! My MIL is a doozy!!!

Theresa - I'd be happy to read what you have written! How cool if you could get a DL trip out of it!

Tia that is an adorable dress :thumbsup2

AnnMarie and Glynis I bet that you MIL's speak highly of your dh's when talking to their other children. It is just a way to manipulate them all. She wants more attention from each of them and uses the others to get their way. It is good that you can let it slide. I've done that for years with my MIL. The funny thing is that Chris has caught on to his mother's manipulations and he takes no crap from her these days. Sometimes I am embarassed by the replies that he gives her (although they are well deserved ;) )

I'm home from the Speech appointment. It was an absolute waste of time as I suspected. I just needed to listen to them advise me of my parental rights (they had already mailed me the pamphlet) and sign a couple of consent forms. Now they have 60 days to complete his evaluation and determine if he actually qualifies for the program :confused3 She is supposed to contact me by the end of the week with an eval date.

I love the rigamaroll you have to go through to get the evaluations....I remember the first couple of meetings for Abi...but once they got the evaluation going it was quick until it was time to re up her IEP the next yrear:sad2:

no interest in signature restaurants?

Ironically, most of our signature dining takes place the week before. And, also ironically, it doesn't make them cost any less to have the DxDP! We could add a signature dinner to the week I am looking at, but other than that one night the single credit places are places we really want to go. :confused3 The more I look at it the more I think if we have to pay full price we would be better off without DxDDP.
If we get free dining then that's a horse of a different color.
If we get an AP rate on the room then I think instead of paying for DxDDP we should use the money we save to add a few meals and pay for them with DDE. An AP rate for all 16 nights would save us $345. Add that to our estimated OOP food costs of $1062 (just for the 7 nights we are considering DxDDP) and we could spend $1407 on food and still be spending the exact same amount on our total trip as we are now. DxDDP would cost $1470 and we would very likely go home with unused credits. If we didn't spend the whole $1407 we could bring home the leftover money. If we don't use all of our credits then WDW keeps the leftover money.

Hopefully Sophie will feel better tomorrow! Princess started running fever Mon. afternoon last week and wasn't fever-free until Friday AM.

Your MIL is not a nice person. :sad2: I hope she reaps what she sows.

Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers for my coworker!

Theresa-would love to read your nomination letter.

Great job on the dress!!!!! Terra looks so tall!

Congrats on your new wardrobe!

My ME vouchers came in the mail today :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
COOL!!!! Mine must be in the mail too! And soon we'll get our package info too!!

How frustrating! Is is 60 calendar days? Around here it is school days so that pushed them to the next school year for me with Joe.:headache: Hope Colby can get evaluated quickly so they can start helping him!:wizard:
