I just bought a new pair of shoes today. I will see how they work... they are Earth Footwear shoes (I remember when the company started!)

The pictures from the F&GF look awesome! I love the Mickey gnomes, how cute :goodvibes Oh & the Tinkerbell windchimes as well :thumbsup2 Think I better pack an extra bag :rotfl:

It looks like I'm sleeping on the couch tonight. I tried to take a nap this afternoon and wound up in coughing fits every 15 - 30 minutes. I don't want to keep Chris up all night as I need him to work here tomorrow without complaining :lmao: I managed to do a lot of spackling today. I also took down the wallpaper border. I knew that I was really putting this off and now I know why. Fixing wallboard SUCKS!! Tomorrow I'll let the boys rip up the tile in the entry, I figure who better to destroy something then 3 boys :rotfl: With any luck I'll at least get a primer coat on the walls tomorrow, but more likely it will be Sunday. Dad is coming down tomorrow to help, but he can't deal with drywall dust so I'm not really sure where he will fit in :confused3

Bob and I just got back from dinner at an Irish pub called "The Blarney Stone" here in town. :drinking1 It was delicious and reminded us of R&C and Raglan Road. Now, I am home and DISing.

How about you, Jen?

Just finished on the phone with dell--I am apparently allergic to soemthing as my face is all blown up--so it was a good night to stay home!

I wish you felt better to tackle all this stuff, Deb!

I don't have time now to catch up, but I just wanted to pop in and say hi and let you know that I'm up here in PA. The drive was ok and the kids were good. I hope everyone is doing well. :grouphug: :wizard:
Glad you've arrive safely! Hope it isn't too cold! The windchill was in the teens here today.

Wasn't Mickey too cute!!! I was thinking about getting a Pooh windchime for Lizzy.

Hope it goes away fast!

Well, I didn't make it to my sisters tonight. The first 8 hours were great. Becky drove the first 5. She drove across the Mackinac Bridge and drove on the expressway (something she had never done before). Weather was clear. Got 10-15 miles North of Lansing and it started snowing. There were at least 3 cars in the ditch in the 10-15 miles before we got to Lansing. Becky's boyfriend called and he was sitting still on I-96 in Grand Rapids. They had closed it while he was on it because there were 40+ fender benders because the roads were so bad. He ended up 2 hours late to Lansing. It took me 4 hours to get from Lansing to Maumee Ohio. The weather was getting worse and I realized if it continued, I'd be driving 30-35 miles per hour which would mean the last two hour drive would turn into at least a 4 hour drive. So I'm installed in a Courtyard by Marriott instead. There is a storm warning until 9am. I'm hoping it clears sooner but if it doesn't, they will be out until 11 because of an early morning appointment so I should be able to get there before they return.

I got home at midnight last night and we were on the road by 8am this morning. That is Lansing time (EST). Of course I live in Central Standard Time so that would be 11pm & 7 am.

So...here I am checking in on my DDA friends.

So the Dell Saga continues!

My replacement computer is different and tech support told me i could get a refund..now we are getting passed person to person to find someone to authorize a refund--now im looking at hp laptops..any expoierences HP Pavilion dv9700z series

Dell used to have fantastic customer service. It was really a great company. I have had Dells for almost 10 years - Chuck has 3 or 4 for his office and we have at least 2 for home, plus that is what we have at work. The company has changed and doesn't have the same reputation they used to. I'm sorry about the issues you are having with them.

glad you played it safe and are hunkered down for the night!!

Vicki- Sorry you had to stop for the night. I hope the weather eases so you can continue your travels today. Stay safe.

Theresa- I am sorry that you got thrown to the wolves, but FWIW we do the same thing here. Only Eric doesn't have a choice. :rotfl2: It cracks me up with all those "labels" for parenting. Hope you had a nice night out.

Jen- I hope you can get your computer issues resolved. :headache:

Deb- I hope today finds you a little better so you can tackle some of those projects.

Elizabeth- :yay: for the Easter bonus. How nice. I hope Momboss makes it home today.

Elin- Your dinner sounded wonderful. There is a new Irish pub that opened up around here. It must be good because anytime we've passed it you can't get within 2 feet of the place.

Terry- Your summer vacation plans sound wonderful.

Bernadette and Janet- Where are the Mickey Gnomes? I want to see one!

Debbie- Emma does look very grown up in the picture, a very scary thought! Where is my baby? :sad1:

Thanks for all the wonderful comments on the girls. :goodvibes

I'm glad you made it safely. Enjoy the holiday with them! :goodvibes

Bob has one for work. I have a Compaq I love (same company).

We have a compaq desktop we love. Unfortunately, our only good experiences with laptops have been Apple, but I will tell you I never had ANY experience with HP/Compaq notebooks -- so nothing bad to report at least! ;)

Good luck, Jen! I still hope they do something extra for your trouble (although it would be shocking, with computer companies  )

Hi Ya'll, Just got home from having a bite to eat with Hal and his brother. We really had a good time. I put half the meal in a to-go box and ate the rest. Now I am home in my pj's and ready to enjoy the evening.

I was going to go into work today but my back was saying---stay home. So that is what I did. Will get my hair cut tomorrow.

The kids found a great place to stay down at the shore for a week in June. It is at the Outer Banks and it looks great. I am going to be able to go down for just Wednesday afternoon to Saturday, but I am excited. It really looks like a nice place to stay. Six bedrooms, 4 and half baths, pool table, outdoor pool, big, big kitchen. Just have to make sure there is some shopping nearby.:goodvibes

Yay! Even if it's just a short trip, it sounds like a wonderful way to spend it!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, everyone!

So how was your day? :goodvibes How are things cleaning up in Atlanta after the tornadoes last week?

I know you have a ton to do, Deb, but please take care of yourself! I hope you can somehow get a little rest, and not make yourself more ill! :wizard:

Oh no! I hope you're feeling better this morning. Any idea what it was?

I agree! We were so impressed with Dell that we never even looked at anything else when we bought a PC for Kristin to take to college. I am so glad that I purchased the 4 year "no matter how you abuse it" coverage for that thing because it has needed 3 major repair/replacements in the past 2 years. I am thinking that the best thing we could buy for Kristin as a graduation gift is a new laptop. But you better bet it won't be a Dell.

Denise, I just found out a "little girl" () I coached several years ago is going to 'Bama this fall for college! :goodvibes

It's OK, Jennifer. I realized years ago that the kids I have taught are growing up (and older) but not me! I am still the same as I was when I taught them. :rolleyes1

Well, I'm up and ready to head out into the weather again. The skies look clear but I'm not sure what the roads will bring. I don't know know when I'll have time to get on and post that I'm there. Have a great Easter DDA if I don't make it back on.
