I am the last person who could help with a shirt, but the Vader design is pretty cool! Hopefully somebody can alter it for you!

My main gripe with DDP is that DS doesn't eat enough to be worth him ordering from the adult menu. But for 8/10 - 8/17 we would only be using the DDP for 3 TS dinners at menu places. The rest are buffets where he is charged as an adult anyway. I think DH & I are going to have to really look at this. Just switching hotels saves us over $200 (IF we can get a AAA rate at AKL), and anything we would save with DDP would just be a bonus. I think.

I feel that way for Katie too. She eats like a supermodel.

I think you are just trying to find a reason to switch to your favorite..AKL. I don't think you have fully come to my side on the BC. If free dining does come out when you are there, I think you'd be happier at AKL paying rack & eating for free.

I hate the Disney website!! When I switched from Pop to the Boardwalk they kept the reservation number the same. When I went to check on the site to see the reservation..it says "cancelled"! I called CRO & they have the ressie & even emailed me a copy. So it's there & the have my file but they can't get it to come up on their website for me to see. I asked for a paper copy to be mailed to me.

I requested Epcot view so maybe was can see SSE from our room. How cool would that be? I am soooooo excited!!!!!!! I think they need to shoot one of those elephant tranqulizers at me right now!

I know - doesn't their website stink? I got a little packet of info. from Disney in the mail the other night welcoming me back to AKL in May. Hmm...seeing as how I never paid the deposit on that reservation, that isn't correct. Guess I need to call them and make sure. They seriously need to put some Imagineers on their IT issues.

Are you staying in a std. view room at the BWI? When we stayed in one in '05, I had read to request a courtyard/garden view, just so you're not stuck with a view of either the front drive or the conference center. Worked like a charm - we were right on a pretty little interior courtyard, and could see the high fireworks from IllumiNations (bet we could have seen more if we were higher up, but we were ground floor).

Lindsay....I can't decide what to do on the Nassau day. Part of me feels we should get off the boat and do something. What the something is however, I have no clue. Some of the stuff is quite pricey when multiplying by the 5 of us!

I agree with you...I do not see free dining becoming available to DVC

I understand that feeling. That's how I felt the first time, which is why we did the dolphin swim (it was just the encounter at first, but they had openings for the swim when we got there, so we upgraded). Even with a day at sea on the 4-day, I still felt like we missed so much on the ship. So, if my crazy husband wants to go swim with sharks, I will probably just stay on board and enjoy the spa!

Hi, Lindsay! No Nordstrom for me this past weekend. I have some stuff to return to Dillard's, but I am not going out in the rain to do it!
I told Momboss we would go to the pharmacy but it just KEEPS RAINING! I guess we'll wait awhile and hit the pharmacy and the dry cleaners in one trip. Momboss needs her pants to take with her and they won't be done until 5 PM, so we'll leave about 4:30. Maybe there are some oars in the garage...

The talk of free dining has (of course) got me thinking. The way our ADRs shake out for that second week, it actually makes it reasonable to have the DDP, even if we have to PAY for it. Now I am REALLY confused about what would be best, because I can't add DDP to the BC room. I suppose the first thing to do is find out the dates for free dining. If it doesn't cover our dates I can see about 1) getting a AAA package for those dates or 2) getting an AP discount and adding DDP. Maybe. We would have to cancel BC, which has pros and cons. It makes me crazy to think we're paying more for something if there is a way to make it cost less.

What - no shopping this weekend!?!?!

I actually don't like shopping that much any more - the bills make me feel guilty. I enjoyed it much more when someone else was paying for it all.

I did give the Bare Minerals place a try, though, and now I think I'm addicted. I am going crazy waiting for my order to arrive.

We save over $200 just switching - not anything to do with DDP. Then we can add DDP either by changing to a AAA package or doing an AP discount on the room and adding dining. Paying rack rate is $8.44 more per night than the discounted rate at BC. A bunk bed room with a AAA rate is actually cheaper than a rack rate pool view room. Screwy, huh?

Well, I switched over to AKL for the last 7 nights. Sorry, Anne Marie! Now I need to change breakfast on our departure day and move our Puck ADR to dinner instead of lunch.
I got the pool view room with a AAA rate. If I can get an AP rate and add DDP, great. If I can't, I'll convert the room to a AAA package and add DDP. The CM linked my 2 pool view ressies so hopefully we won't have to move from one pool view room to another. I hope having 2 back-to-back ressies in the same room isn't a gigantic pain. I can see it getting complicated because we'll have to have new room keys with the DDP on them.

I have a question for those of you who have been on cruises besides disney cruise(i know blasphemy). would these dresses be to formal for formal night.

i am looking at dresses for ideas because i will have to get mine made. so i need some insight and also when the say smart casual do they mean semi formal?

Here's a couple of pics of the newest addition...Bill's son had their first baby....he is very cute. They are having a tough time adjusting......he is not sleeping much at all. I don't think they anticipated how hard the first few weeks can be.

Elizabeth, I've done 2 back-to-back reservations before (staying in 2 different seasons). As long as they're linked as "continuing" reservations in the system, they shouldn't have to move you. You'll just have to check-out/check-in on the day of the change-over 1st thing in the morning. You will get new keys, regardless if you get DDP or not.

Not sure about the formal stuff, Karen, but I would imagine you're pretty spot on.

I know when we have events that are "smart casual", we mean a dressier "nighttime" casual, if that makes sense. Semi-formal would be too much IMO. (If they meant semi-formal, they would say semi-formal.)

Home from a really fun night out with my friend. We split 2 pitchers of green beer, some mushroom appetizers, and of course corned beef/cabbage/new potatoes! Yummy! Night all.

So, how does DVC affect free dining? IF they offer it for my trip, will I be able to get it?

As Lindsay said, they've never offered it to DVC members staying on points. People were really fired up about it the first time around, but someone pointed out that the "discount" that is DVC pricing is generally better overall (especially depending on where you'd stay with a MYW package) than it would be paying rack rate at a hotel to get "free" dining. Still, I suppose it would be nice if we got all of the above!

I guess it isn't much different then. I am glad that we are all girls now. I think it will allow her more field time which will help her get better. She is a good player but not aggressive like the other kids from her team the last couple of years and her coach only wanted to play the kids who would score goals. Very frustrating.

In my opinion, I think the first one (maybe 2) might be a tad too formal, but certainly you see a little of everything -- so whatever you're comfortable in is perfect! That being said, they are gorgeous... and if you are getting them made custom, you could have them tweaked exactly how you wanted!

I agree with Lindsay, that the cruise line would specify "semi-formal" when that's what they are looking for.

Hi all! I just got back from another Level II ultrasound -- everything looked good! The girls are measuring right at the appropriate weight for gestation (and we obviously know our dates are 100% correct).... so now I can stop worrying that I've gained very little weight, and just focus on steady gain going forward, the best I can!

I need some advice!

I pre-ordered Enchanted so I could get the lithographs. I picked it all up at our Disney Store this morning, and when I got home, I looked at the DVD I noticed it's Full Screen. We like the Wide Screen. I called the DS to see if they had any Wide Screen that I could exchange for, they said they didn't receive any of that version.

I know that our Walmart has them in Wide Screen. If I take back the DS copy to Walmart, will they accept it? I don't do a whole lot of returning, so I don't know if they have a way of knowing if a certain item was purchased at their store or not. Can anyone help me? Or are we stuck with the Full Screen?
