DDA Chapter 5

Robyn - Pack your own snack for your child. Problem solved! ;) :rotfl2:
I guess I don't get the whole thought process behind making one person bring snacks each time for the whole team. Don't get me wrong, that's how it worked when DS played soccer, too. It just seems like having everyone bring their own snack would cut down on the drama! :confused3

Deb - The thought of sanding gives me stress! :scared: I hope you guys are able to get through it on the timeline you are imagining! :wizard:

I was thinking the same thing! Back in "the day" when my brother's played Little League, you were expected to bring a snack for your own child, not the whole team. At the end of the season, the coach took the boys out for pizza. It worked for everyone, and no one had to go through all the drama! I think sometimes, we have a tendency to overthink things that should be really simple

Good for you, Robyn, in being able to take a step back!

Morning folks....

Looking out my window in disbelief at all the new snow!!

Terry...I enjoyed your pictures

Deb & Chris...listening to all you projects makes me feel like I should do something here...thankfully the feeling usually passes :)

SNOW??? blech... :rotfl2:

:rotfl:

When he changed phone companies he could not grandfather it so the number would stay the same? Or at least have a disconnect message? :confused3

What a moron. Sorry you had to deal with this. But I am sure the peace and quiet was very welcome :lmao:

The numbers are staying the same...seems the original company disconnected us a day (to them) early and the new company is scrambling to get us reconnected.

It is really strange though that I can make calls out.

I've been under the weather since Monday, I have allergic conjunctivitis and another sinus infection so the asthma is kicking up again.
That does not sound fun. Hope you can find some relief soon!!!!:wizard:

Does anyone get the Family Fun Magazine?

Gabrielle Crump, a little girl who goes to the same studio we do (Ellie and she are good friends) is featured in April's Addition Pages 71, 74, & 75..Advertizing Being Creative At a Birthday Party "Contruction Style"

We don't get the magazine, but I will be looking for a copy at the stores.
I get it. I'll have to look for it because Crump is my maiden name.

So as I am getting the pictures loaded into my photobucket account, I really look at Nicholas and see how his allergies are kicking up. It is amazing how pictures really show how he is doing.
Great photos! I have a lot of those with my 3! Good luck with the kitty. I'm sure it will make Nicholas feel better.

Aidan update:

Well it was a full day yesterday and things didn't go as well as hoped for. It seems that Aidan's Lungs are no better then when he left the hospital. He still has the malasia in his Trach and now has some built up scar tissue that will need to be removed. So this will make two surgeries in one month. The removal however of this scar tissue might open everything up and we could see some marked improvements with his trach cap.

Today we scheduled his Cochlear Implant for the 16th of April. We will only be doing one-side at a time, but are excited about it. We have chosen to go with a company called Cochlear out of Australia, they are the leading provider of this type of product and have many advocates that will fight insurance when we are denied on the second one. Unless a few prayers are answered first before we have to fight.

So once again another full month, a couple of sedations and all this without a daytime nurse. It seems our last one wasn't mature enough to talk about some issues she had and just left us in the dark. Now with the nursing shortage, we are the ones in need. We have gotten this far playing mom and dad with the Lords help and we certainly will make it through the end. We will keep y'all updated with changes.
Thanks for the update. Continued prayers for Aidan and Mac's family!

It is a teapot embedded in the Boston Skyline. I liked it better than any drawings of the actual tea party that I found online!
When are you coming? Long enough for a quick hello?

Thanks, Anne Marie! It looks like my family wants to go back to WDW for Christmas this year. Can you imagine how happy that made me?!?!
How wonderful!!!!

Sorry for the very brief catch up post -- we are supposed to be leaving for the in laws in about an hour, but haven't even begun to pack. Oops! I'll be there all weekend, but you know I can usually post from there (and will, because I need sanity! ;))
Have fun.;)

We have two soccer games in two different towns tomorrow, and a baseball tournament that is thankfully in our town. Jake also has a birthday party tomorrow evening an hour away from us. There is a reason that my Tahoe is turning over 200,000 miles today.

If you happen to think about it this weekend, please send some good thoughts to Andrew for the baseball tournament for confidence. :)
:wizard: for Andrew & his team!!

Thank you for making it more clear. I mean I could tell that it was a teapot against a skyline but the question I still had was why? :lmao:
I probably shouldn't admit this but I didn't recognize it (I'm sure Tia did though).

Did I tell you we are family? Yes yes yes it is true... we.... we have the same....ah... great great great grandblahblah. Yes that is correct and that then makes us family so I guess we get to come with you. :lmao:

Well the last time the small, intimate, immediate part of my family planned a reunion at WDW at least 1/3 of the DDA showed up! :rotfl2: So, I say... come on along (of course you will all need your own rooms again).

Now I see, they correspond to each ticker. :thumbsup2 So you will be back at WDW for Christmas?!?!

::yes:: :yay:
My dream vacation is December 24-January 2. Bob and I were talking about how neat it would be to be there for NYE one year and that this year might be the perfect one, but I don't think the budget will handle another 4-5 nights. Room cost for that time was running over $6000, so I have modified my dream a bit. Kathrin has Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off and has been told that she could take the day after Christmas off also, if she chooses to do so. That would give us all 12/24-12/28 together.

A moderate would run about $2000 for 2 rooms for those 4 nights. We can get Contemporary Tower (Theme Park view) for $2800 / CL = $3500. Poly LV = $3000 / CL Garden = $3300 / CL LV = $3800. Those are single rooms with the additional $50 per night per adult.

Or we can get a Deluxe Room at WL that has a separate sitting room with sofa bed for $3400 and that includes Club Level services. So, I am pondering....

When are you coming? Long enough for a quick hello?

Probably so... we are planning on the week of June 27-July 6. I have that week off and so does Kathrin. Makes sense to vacation then. :thumbsup2

Love it :rotfl:

"True" Friendship

None of that Sissy Crap

Are you tired of those sissy "friendship" poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality? Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship. You will see no cutesy little smiley faces on this card- Just the stone cold truth of our great friendship.

1. When you are sad -- I will help you get drunk and plot revenge against the sorry ^%$*(&^^ who made you sad.

2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you.

3. When you smile -- I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.

4. When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it every chance I get.

5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much worse it could be until you quit whining.

6. When you are confused -- I will use little words.

7. When you are sick -- Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have.

8. When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsy butt.

9. This is my oath ... I pledge it to the end "Why?" you may ask; "because you are my friend".

Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, but only you can feel it's true warmth.

Remember: A friend will help you move. A really good friend will help you move a body. Let me know if I ever need to bring a shovel...

I would do CR CL. The Concierge service at CR was AWESOME!!! It would be great to walk to MK. I did enjoy concierge at Poly but the food was a bit better at CR. And you'll have just been at Poly in the fall. The CR rooms were really nice but they didn't have a lot drawer storage if you like to unpack. The WL doesn't do much for me BUT I'm sure it is awesome at Christmas.

Same here! We miss you Stephanie :goodvibes
Me too!!!

Well, my sister has started something. I walked into Kmart today to pick up a prescription for Becky. There were a bunch of $3.99 clearance racks. I couldn't resist because the one thing that I didn't get when I was with her were some casual clothes to wear around home. I tend to wear my men's pajama pants that I bought for Girl Scout camp and t-shirts. I work from home so I wanted something a little bit nicer but I know I won't wear my dress clothes! Well, I spent $84.31. I got a skirt, several pairs of dress slacks, 4-5 pair of dressier looking sweat pants, 4-5 long sleeve princess style shirts, 2 pairs of shorts (which were BOGO), and a black sweater.

I am going to clean out all my frumpy clothes from my closet. I still have the issue if/when I lose the 15 pounds again. However, I'm not hanging on to these clothes that aren't flattering. Chuck says I'm going to be styling. I was worried he'd be upset but he said I'd be crazy not to buy a shirt for $3.99 that is normally $30. I guess he is right. I've bought $8 outfits for Nicky and didn't blink. Why do I have such a problem buying stuff for myself?

It's a date, Bernadette! I will keep you up-to-date on our plans, OK?

As for the rooms... the problem is that those prices I quoted (with the exception of the moderate and the WL Deluxe room) are for a single room. That means all 4 of us in one room for 4 nights and 5 days. And now way to get away from one another. That was the attraction of the Deluxe room at WL. The bedroom is separate from the sitting room. Each of the girls could have their own bed and Bob and I could share the sofa bed in the sitting area. A little more privacy without the cost of two rooms. But, I agree that the CR Atrium Club is VERY appealing. More so than the Poly since (as you say) Bob and I will have just been there in September.

We have decided our days of one room with the 4 of us are over. We have always had just one room but this last trip was too much for us. If the girls come again, we will definitely get the one-bedroom so we at least have the two separate areas.

I swear there are days where it doesn't pay to be me...today is one of those days...it is now closing time and still no phone.

Earlier in the week I was rushing to work and could only find a mismatched pair of crocs to walk in so that has been my pair to walk to work in this week. After catching heck from my BS'ers I come into my office to change into "work" shoes and I only made it to work with one:headache: :rotfl2:

So I have been fending off grumpy old people AND explaining my odd footwear all day:sad2:

Yummy. Chuck & I just made our homemade french dressing. It is so good when it is first made.

I had to defend myself today at work. Well, really I didn't because my bosses knew that the issue was not with me. However, someone is trying to make me look bad. Luckily, this person made themselves look bad instead and luckily the client still got taken care of. That has been the hardest part of the work I'm doing. Defending myself against people who are jealous of the situation.

Well....with concierge you have the concierge lounge to escape from each other. At CR you would have a really NICE queen for you & yourBob and one girl could have a bed and the other could have a daybed. Do you really want to sleep on a full size sleep sofa?

I pretty sure the food at CR concierge is from California Grill. It was really good the 3 nights I was there in Dec 06.

I swear there are days where it doesn't pay to be me...today is one of those days...it is now closing time and still no phone.
 We all love you no matter what shoes you have on and you don't need to explain anything to us!

:confused3 I some work issues myself this week. I had a meeting with the Finance Manager and it took quite a while to explain to him that you can't take 3% of a 20% part of an operation and call it 3% of the 100% of the whole and change the 20% to 17%. It had to more like 19.5% and .5%. I'm sure he'll take 100% of the credit for the project too. Then I had someone else today who was wrong and just kept saying he was right and when I finally got him to see the error of his ways he said wasn't his job(but it is!).:headache:

sounds like you both had pretty rotten days. I am so sorry to hear that! Is it a good thing that it is Friday night?

Keep twisting, Bernadette... keep twisting. ;)

Also sounds like you had a crummy day. What the heck is going on today?!? Hope you are also happy that it is Friday.
