DDA Chapter 4

Who's kids have read the Pinderwicks? Nicholas brought it home from the reading center today and I could swear I've heard it mentioned on here.

I bought it last Fall at book fair, but haven't read it, yet. Our school librarian recommended it.

Paula, I'm going to want 8 pillowcases for my June trip if you are up & running by then.

congrats, Nicholas! :thumbsup2 The tooth fairy forgot to come see BK a month ago. BAD TOOTH FAIRY! :rolleyes1 It was all that darn turtles fault... ;)

Tooth fairy forgot several times with my girls over the years. She was always overly busy and gave them extra when she got there the next night. That always made up for it.

That darn turtle!

ETA: Oh yeah, forgot the first time - Eeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Let me ask a question.....

What would you think of a mother that buys her 5 yr old DD a cellphone (Firefly)?

Bob's ex bought one for Bethany. First, she and Bob can't talk civilly (she always flies off the handle) so she has told him not to call her, that if he needs to discuss something he has to email or text her. Hello? How can you communicate that way? They have shared custody of Bethany. Mom has her Sun. night through Thurs morning, and he gets her after work on Thurs until Sun night. Do you think the two adults might need to talk every once in awhile???? Second, ex is so annoyed with Bob that she doesn't want to have to go through him to talk to Bethany (when she is with her dad) so she bought her a cell phone. I can't believe it. You know, I thought dating a divorcee would be easier, because they've 'been there, done that', but there is an AWFUL lot of baggage that goes with it. I don't know if I have the energy to put up with it.

And what if Bob doesn't want her to have the cell phone "on" when she is at his house? Sounds like a dumb decision to me. I sure wouldn't want my 5-year old to have a phone.

Kevin apparently still lurks on the thread. He came home from work grumbling that Matthew McConaughey was on my list. :rotfl:

Oh, that's funny! We'll find out if Chuck is lurking later in the week. I got my haircut and colored today. I'm going to take a picture and post it probably tomorrow. It is darker with some red. I like the cut but I'm not too sure about the color yet. If Chuck is lurking, I'm sure I'll hear about the DDA seeing it first. :lmao:

Janet, love your hair!

Vicki, glad the MRI went well and hope you find some answers soon.

Off to bed. Supposed to have thunderstorms later, which means Rees will be up. Working at their school tomorrow and then have a PTO meeting. I'm on the Nominating Committee for next year's Board. Fun (not!)

I have one as well. I'll try to make a photocopy of the manual. Chuck has a great copier at his office. If I forget, send me a PM reminder this week-end.

That would be wonderful. Thanks

I have a 5 year old and he doesn't talk well on our home phone. Then again I have a 5 year old nephew and he calls here and to my parents house all the time and his parents have no idea. He has memorized our phone numbers. I'm not sure which would be worse with a cell phone.

Hunter wants a cell phone in the worst way. He has no need for one as he never calls anyone and no one calls him either. If the boys go anywhere where they might need to contact us we send the tracfone with them.

OMG!!! This day is just getting funnier (in a matter of speaking).
Mark decided to go get a few things at the base store (BX) where Cassie works.
Cassie wasn’t working. So Mark called her (to here her answer on why she wasn’t at a register) to see when he needed to pick her up. She said “I am on break right now and I get done at 8:30, but I have a ride home from Kim. I love you dad see you later she said.

Mark then ran into one of Cassie’s supervisors and asked if Cassie was working tonight. He super said she had called in sick because she had an unscheduled dental appt. Oh I forgot Mark said. He then asked if he could pick up her schedule in the future so as not to cause this kind of problem again.

HOLY PLUTO POOP!

Mark met Cassie in the driveway when she was “brought home from work”. They are now having a “Come to Jesus” conversation. They left the house because the yelling is causing problems with the small ones.

Can you all hear them yelling?

I have no clue what the rest of this week holds, but WOW it’s like a Soap Opera in my house.

I do hope you are all well.

Oh and thank you for letting me vent.

I'm so sorry to hear you are having to deal with this. It is tough but you can get through it. Remember, that we are ALWAYS hear to listen to your vents. That's what family is for!

So what are everyone's plans for Valentines Day?

Gary & I will probably just go out to lunch while the boys are at school or maybe we will wait & take them with us for dinner. Nothing to exciting around here lol

Nothing much probably. Mom has to work that night so it will be Phil, Terra, Rachel and I at home. I tried to fix something special last year, but it didn't go over too well. I did tell Terra that we would make a heart shaped brownie so there's that.

Glynis, I know you're trying to get caught up (saw your update on the WFD thread)!

Denise, I'm not familiar with the Woodward area, but please let me know how I can be of help.

Bernadette, I certainly hope you made a trip to the doctor today!

Though it's a snow day, we still ventured out for a playdate (the roads weren't too bad in our area and I needed to get out of the house). I don't think baking is on the agenda today ;) and since my SIL is bringing the cake for my mom's birthday on Saturday, I don't think I'm packing the cupcake supplies either. :rotfl: I just told Alyssa that they are supplies for her birthday party.

Thanks for all the compliments on the pictures I posted yesterday. :goodvibes

Deb, our haircut place is called Cookie Cutters. It's a little expensive ($15.95), but you can sign up for discount email coupons and the amenities are great (gaming stations for the preteens, DVDs for the little ones, balloons, suckers, etc.).

Paula, sorry to read about the yelling, but it's good that Cassie was busted while Mark was still in town!

Robyn, hope you're feeling better today.

Theresa, loved your pictures. You know I love the zoo, too!

Sorry to cut this short...mini-meltdown in progress. :rolleyes1

:grouphug: and :wizard: for you all!

Almost there!

I'm going to ditto everything Amy said, though. I'd hate to think y'all thought I was ignoring you!

Thank goodness for hair products, a round brush, and a teasing comb! ;)

That's what I learned about today. I bought a bunch of product and a round brush. The beautician showed me how to style my cut. We'll see how it looks tomorrow when I do it myself.

Thank you all for the comments on my hair!

Vicki I look forward to seeing your new cut & color.

Without going into detail, I am having a rough night. Please send some PD my way that I don't make decisions that I might regret later.

I'm going to post a Happy 40th Birthday, message right now, Kristine!!! I don't want to accidentally forget to post tomorrow!

You are going to have a great birthday!!!!

I have the monitor too. The coupons say that you must show up in person with a valid AP and photo ID. That is why I haven't asked anyone to pick up ours :confused3 I would love to have them, but don't know if they will follow that policy or not :confused3

Tammi & Deb, we will have 4 annual passes and will all have our ID's. If you want to send me your coupons, I will get the lithos for you. I think that Elizabeth was going to send me hers so that I could have a set. Though, I should call in case Elizabeth ones the set herself. If I call, they should hand address one to me, right?

Theresa, I rarely post on the CB. I am there for the sub-board, that is where the exchanges are.

I stay away from the CB for the most part, but occasionally I find a thread I know I will enjoy! I found the What's For Dinner thread there, and I absolutely LOVE that thread!!! The people there are just wonderful!!! I also like to check out any threads about books people are reading!! I keep a list so I can get new ideas of what to read. Right now I have one full notebook, and have started my second, just of titles of books to check out. However, I won't post on threads that look like they could get rough! I'm too non-confrontational!

I really like my perm :thumbsup2 The boys both like it as well(Gary will see it later tonight when he gets home). I'm not use to having a slight part to the side ,so I might change that. What do you think?

I'll pop them in the package that I'm mailing out this week :thumbsup2 Thanks

I'm so already there, which is depressing since I have so far to go! You, as a twin mom, swear it gets better?! I hope so! i gave up hope after everyone said the second trimester would bring relief... mine just brought more problems, and I'm halfway through it! I'm already getting the general discomfort, too because I'm all uterus! Short little girls like me weren't built for this, especially since before I started I still had no butt, no hips, etc! :rotfl:

If you say it could still improve, I'll cling to your word for hope! ;)

No, mostly I just can't wait to meet these babies! I can tough out all the problems (even if people like Tammi didn't have any! ;)), but i'm not the most patient person around... :goodvibes

Well, in my case, I had severe morning sickness until halfway through my 5th month. After that, I was feeling the babies move a lot! I loved that!!! They were wedged so tightly that I could see their little toes as they kicked me! Alan used to try to grab them! I really didn't get uncomfortable until the month before I delivered. I delivered at 35 weeks, and was definitely ready. There were at least 2 months where I wasn't sick, and wasn't too uncomfortable.

I hear you about wanting to meet the babies. When we found out that we were having 2 girls, though, I started having nightmares. I was positive that I wouldn't be able to tell them apart. I even went so far as to pack 2 different colors of nail polish in my hospital bag, so that I could "mark" them. I was so relieved when they were born, and I could tell them apart!

Just try to remain calm, and get as much rest as humanly possible.

Oh, by the way, add me to the list of "aunties" that can't wait to find out what you are having, so I can get my shopping started!!!
